Girls ,preg woman are not allowed to put mehendi becos it gives cooling effect to the body..but I don't know abt mehendi effect on north side..in southside we used to grind henna leaves(marudani) & put on our hands during diwali season ..that really cools body..so elders usually says not to put henna on preg woman
