I Love Love Love writing so as soon as I fell for this couple I started to develop some ideas and a basic structure to kick start my FF. Hopefully you will go through this prequel once and leave your comments/suggestions/reviews. Do give me a chance to impress you all and hopefully I will be successful.
So here I go...

SETTING: Pragya and Abhi goes through a rough and ugly divorce. Even after the whole Tanu incident had resolved and the family finally took a deep breath, the sudden tragic decision left everyone gasping for breath.
"It was a mutual agreement", Abhi explained quietly.
"But what is the issue?" dadi yelled, desperate for an answer.
"Just...just a decision that the two of us are taking. Please understand dadi", said Abhi, looking at Pragya.
Pragya remained quiet.
PREQUEL
Escape! Ever since she was little, Pragya secretly wanted to escape into her own sphere. A sphere where she would not be questioned by anyone, not have to be answerable to anyone. But thorughout her childhood she never felt that 'need' to do so. And now, after so much has happened in her life, all she 'needed' to do was exactly that:escape! Just somewhere outisde this city, where she had endured so much and suffered a lot. She knew she had to sacrifice her loved ones, the ones who had kept her strong all her life. And ofcourse those who had entered her life recently but she had to let them go, let 'him' go for everyone's sake.
"He would be happy. I know he will be", she kept reminding herself after she had signed on the stamp papers presented to her by her lawyer. She had looked at her mother, Bulbul and everyone who wept silently as she scribbled her full name above her printed name, beside his. "This is what was best for everyone", she reassured herself throughout the first two months. Nevertheless she tried to get back to her life. Abhi surely had. He had recently released his new album which had sold over a thousand copies in the first weekend. And, one of Pragya's neighbours had just told her that he was planning a tour in the UK.
"Look for a job di", pleaded Bulbul. You have a PHD in Psychology, use it." And she did. She had applied to several colleges and schools. Most of the institutions recognized her as the ex of rockstar Abhi. And the ones which did not, soon learned after inquiring about her for further consideration. She did start a job in a well reputed college but left after a week. Five minutes had gone since she began her first lecture there and one of the over-curious students raised his hand-a macho looking guy with gelled hair-and asked her the 'real' reason behind her divorce with Abhi. She obviously tried to ignore the question and continued with her lecture but others soon followed suit. Things were almost the same in the staff room where almost all the faculty members were curious. Unfortunately the tabloids could not reveal much details about this divorce so the curious folks of the city wanted to hear it from Pragya herself. Some had even developed theories of their own and were hoping to be proven correct.
One night, after a severely frustrating day at the college, her cell phone rang. It was an unknown international number. For a second, Pragya's heart skipped a beat. She wondered if it was him, calling to ask about her. It has been almost 10 months since their separation. Maybe he just wanted to hear her voice, ask her how she was. So after some hesitation she answered it, only to realize it was a woman's voice from the other end. A voice she had once known and loved. A voice she had missed after she left the country.
"But beti are you sure?" Pragya's mother asked her, with tears rolling down her face. Pragya had already packed two suitcases and she was packing the last one. She wanted to make sure she had everything with her when she left the next morning, so she made a long list and Bulbul was striking one item off it as she was checking whether it was packed or not.
"Yes ma", replied Pragya, as she folded her clothes. "It will be a chnage for me. I can start over there. And its not like I am going away forever. I will e coming back. And you, Bulbul and everyone can come visit me in New York."
"But its so far away. How am I going to live without seeing my daughter's face?"
"We'll Skype. Bulbul and Purvi will teach you. You can see my face whenever you like. Except when I am in class of course." Pragya smiled.
"I still don't have a good feeling about this", said her teary eyed mother.
Pragya placed the folded clothes on the bed and took her mother by the shoulders and embraced. "You shouldn't worry so much about me. I have learned how to take care of myself. I can finally live a happy life. It was so good of Natasha to give me a call and invite me to New York City. A teaching position at NYU ma. That's a lottery for someone who hadn't seen a classroom for two years."
"But..."
"And she has offered me a place to live with her in her apartment. Nothing can go wrong, ma please stop crying."
"Still, if you change your mind about this thing..."
"Ma my flight is tomorrow morning. Trust me, I am sure", reassured Pragya.
"Fine", said her mother. "I will leave you two sisters to get things done then. Sleep quickly." She then placed a kiss on Pragya's forehead.
Bulbul was quite the entire time. Pragya had noticed it. "What happened to you now?"
"I told you to look for a job but I did not mean on the other side of the planet!" she spoke a bit loudly.
"Bulbul, I told you. This is a golden..."
"...golden opportunity one that comes very rarely. I know I know. I have heard this ever since Natasha called you. But I just wished you would think about everyone you are leaving behind."
"I am not leaving them. I will be gone for a time..."
"Time? You mean days? Months?" Bulbul had her eye brows raised.
"You know what I mean, " Pragya sighed.
"I won't be seeing you for years di! That's more than a big deal!"
"That's not true. You know that. Purab said that he will take you to New York himself."
Bulbul continued folding Pragya's clothes. A long paused followed.
"You never told me why you got the divorce in the first place", Bulbul muttered quietly.
Pragya tried not to meet her gaze. That was a story she was not willing to share. They continued packing.
