"Okay all done! They should be here any minute now!"
Purab got the plates out while Bulbul carried the dishes and both started arranging the table.
"You! You! How could you! I am not going to talk to you again! EVER AGAIN!"
Both Bulbul and Purab paused and stared at the closed door hearing Pragya Di's angry voice.
Bulbul rolled her eyes grinning and got back to arrange the table while Purab headed towards the door to welcome their guests.
The doorbell rang.
"FUGGY? Really? You are not going to talk to me ever again?"
Purab heard Abhi asking sounding hurt as he unlocked the door.
"Yes! Ever again!"
"YAY! Thank you Fuggy! Finally! Finally I am getting a break from all your bakbaks! Thank you Fuggy!"
Purab opened the door to see Abhi punching the air and giving a quick hug to Pragya Di.
"Hi guys!"
Purab greeted the duo but was met with silence as Pragya scowled at Abhi, to which he replied with a smirk.
Purab sighed internally knowing full well what would follow.
"Purab! Dekhona! Who does this to his wife!? Who calls his PREGNANT wife Fuggy!!?"
Pragya whined as she gave him a side hug and entered the house.
"Bhai! Give her a break na..."
"Purab! Don't look at me like that! I didn't do anything! She is Fuggy! That IS the truth! And don't forget you are on my side!"
Abhi warned loudly and checked to see whether Pragya was out of the ear shot.
"Don't worry! She doesn't mind the name. In fact she loves it but just pretend to hate it!" He whispered and winked at Purab as he followed his wife in.
"Di! Look at you! You are glowing!"
Bulbul came running and hugged Pragya tight.
"And hello my super cool Rockstar Jiju!"
Abhi flashed a fond smile as he hurried to give her a hug.
"Di come let's sit!"
Bulbul took Pragya's hand and led her towards the sofa.
Pragya sat and shifted to make herself comfortable her rounded belly making it hard to sit in one place for a long these days. Suddenly she felt something soft behind her back and looked up to see Abhi carefully placing a cushion behind her back.
"Okay Di now tell!"
Bulbul demanded as she sat cross legged next to Pragya.
"How is my..."
"Oh ho Bulbul! Let her breath! Di are you alright? Do you need anything?"
Purab cut her off mid sentence.
Bulbul & Pragya shared a smile hearing Purab's concern.
"No Purab. I am good! You come and sit na"
"Okay Di. Just give me a second."
He returned with a glass of water and kept it in front of Pragya before he sat beside Abhi.
"So Di! How is my Junior Rockstar?"
Bulbul asked, slowly placing her hand on Pragya's belly.
"Well, Doctor said he is doing well! And..."
Abhi as always was fascinated at seeing Pragya's hand affectionately cradling her baby bump, a habit she has taken up ever since they got to know of their baby, when her words reached his ears.
"He?"
Abhi interrupted Pragya.
"Yes! HE!"
Pragya replied adamantly.
"Well, Fuggy you surely meant to say SHE! Because you see, we are having a daughter!"
"Well Fuggy the Rockstar! We are having a daughter but not this time! This time we are having a son!"
"Daughter!" Abhi retorted back.
"Son!" Pragya replied angrily.
"Daughter!"
"Son!"
Bulbul and Purab continued to look back and forth at the duo as the spat continued.
"Daughter!" Abhi shouted.
"Daughter!?" Pragya copied him.
"Son!" Abhi instinctively objected.
"Huh!" Pragya leaned back in the cushion happy that she won this round.
"What?!"
"Guys! Guys! Guys! Calm down! No fighting today please!"
Bulbul cried out.
"Bulbul why are you telling me? Tell him na! He is the one who started it!"
"Bulbul tell your Di to let it go! Fuggy!"
"I am not Fugg... Ahh!"
Pragya suddenly cried out clutching her belly.
"Pragya what happened? What is wrong? You alright? Is it the baby?"
Abhi was right beside her in a second showering her with questions worry written all over his face.
Pragya sitting there like a statue staring into space holding her baby bump did nothing to ease his worry.
"Baby what is wrong? Tell me! Purab call the doctor!"
"Yes Bhai!"
"No! No! I am alright!"
Pragya finally spoke.
"What happened? Are you alright?"
Pragya took Abhi's hand and placed it on her belly. He stared at it for awhile and then when nothing happened looked at Pragya questioningly.
"What?"
"Don't you feel it?"
"What?"
"He kicked!"
"What?" Abhi asked and continued to search for movements but found nothing.
"Yes! I have felt him moving before, but it's the first time I felt a kick!"
Abhi saw a huge smile lightening up her face and instantly found his face mirroring her amidst all the 'aww's of Bulbul and Purab.
"I want to feel it too!"
After few minutes it was clear to Abhi that he was not going to get it that easy.
"Why is she not kicking?"
"Err... Jiju maybe the baby is sleeping?"
"What? Then how come she kicked Fuggy?"
Pragya almost grinned hearing him when she felt it again.
"Haww! He kicked again!"
"What! Where? Fuggy show me!"
Another kick.
Pragya directed his hand to where she felt the kick when a thought crossed her mind.
"No way!"
"What is it Di?" Purab asked.
"I think... I think baby is reacting to Fuggy?"
"Fuggy?" Abhi quickly bent down and whispered to her belly.
Abhi felt a tiny kick.
"Fuggy! She likes Fuggy! See? Fuggy?"
"Yes HE does!" Pragya smiled seeing Abhi's joy after feeling the baby's kick.
Bulbul shook her head and smiled at Purab.
"These two bhi na Purab! One second they are fighting and in the next they are making up!"
"Their way! Their style! Their love!"
"Yes! And by the way Mr. Khanna, I won the bet! You are doing the dishes today!"
"What? I can't believe I went ahead with this bet knowing these two! Should have agreed with you when you said they would argue more than thrice within the first half and hour and we still have 10 minutes more!"
Bulbul winked and went to get snacks for her Di and Jiju.
