Agree!!!! Purab takes the easy way out!! He comes across as having a very weak character!!! If only he could stand up for himself ...!!! The guy doesn't seem to realize that it's his right to choose whom he wants in his life!!!!

There are so many topics criticizing pragya or abhi .Why not some on purab ?😊 When it comes to abhi or pragya it is criticism and when it is purab it is bashing ? Rules are same for evry1. Any character can be criticized .

there was a article few weeks back that purab will be the one clearing the mess from abhi's head...and he will regret and understand love...this track is not shown yet...we all know...what snail phase KB goes through...they wear one attire for 4 weeks...I am sure there is a track of it ..becos one part came true...Taaliyah plotted and tannu told abt Rabul to sarla...I think he will clear the mess but they are dragging it for more drama

That;s what I said in the end right? I still hope he clears up.. If he doesn't, it would be a huge disappointment!

I just find it surprising that the same few members start topics to "criticise" Purab whereas topics on Abhi and Pragya are usually started by disappointed fans or neutral members of this forum.
That's my POV, you guys have your POV.
End of story (at least from my side).

You are upset that I don't criticize Abhi as much?

There are some members who always criticize Abhi, but I can't be telling them why they would do that. I just put my point forward if I disagree with them.

I can tolerate a character like Abhi but not Purab. I get Abhi's stand and I give him the credit of MU.

I used to criticize Pragya initially but having seen Sarla's health issues, I empathize with her now.

You are welcome to tell us otherwise, if you feel Purab can be justified too. I am happy to hear.

Everybody in this serial has made wrong choices.
Let me start with the elders:
  • Dadi - chose a girl like Pragya without knowing Abhi too well. Yes, she is right in knowing that only Pragya can "handle" Abhi, and make him change his ways, but the whole premise of "marrying someone to fix them" is ill-fated in my opinion. This is a show,so its very romantic and cheesy to see a guy transform, but in real life, this is disastrous.
  • Sarla - the less said the better. her biggest mistake however is not knowing what her daughters want, but pushing them to want what she wants.
  • Pragya - marrying Abhi.
  • Abhi - Listening to Aaliya and marrying Pragya
  • Bulbul - Not realizing that forcing Purab to marry Aaliya does not solve his problems
  • Aaliya - :/
  • Tanu - :/ :/
  • Purab - now his list is the longest. Merely because many others are behaving in ignorance. Dadi is behaving in ignorance of the facts post marriage, Pragya married Abhi in ignorance of his machinations, Bulbul fell in love with him in ignorance of his alliance with Aaliya.. Abhi... etc., everyone has a reason for "ignorance". But Purab is the know all. Knowingly, he is making choices (difficult, yes, very difficult) but knowingly. He knew Abhi's temper issues, Aaliya's stubbornness... That's why he was quick to guess that AbhiGya marriage is something that is "worrying". He knew Abhi would never marry a girl like Pragya without a reason. As being the one who knew everything right from the start, but still made poor choices that have affected not only his own life, but that of others and more dramatically so, I have zero respect for him. Let me count the ways.
    • I some how can never respect a guy who two-times women, no matter what his intention. He was seriously or not seriously, attached to Aaliya, and he should have been outspoken about this to Bulbul. He tries to "avoid" falling in love, but does not come clean. Not good.
    • He knows that Abhi is punishing Bulbul and Pragya for whatever happened, yet he chooses to be over protective of Bulbul, leaving Pragya alone to fight his wrath. Not cool at all.
    • He runs away from his marriage, runs away from confrontation etc., very well realizing the extent to which Mehra siblings can go to hurt Pragya.
    • He claims to love Bulbul but seems to have no connection to his family - unless she cries. Comes across more as an obsession or infatuation than love to me.
All in all the reason I hate Purab's characterization is that his choices are the most informed of all. He is not under any misunderstanding whatsoever, but he still continues to make one bad decision after the other. Unfortunately, he could run away and marry another girl, and all it cost him was his friendship (that he does not even seem to care about at this point) but the Arora sisters, and to a great extent Mehra siblings have paid a great price for. Yes, everyone brought it upon themselves, but unfortunately the vortex points to Purab.

The problem is that if they redeem Purab's character by having him clarify misunderstandings, it is also end of drama for the show for now - so to get TRPs, they are extending the misunderstanding and the only way to do this is to keep Purab the way he is.Unfortunate, yes.

There is no real way that they can fully redeem Purab's character now (even if he marries Aaliya) if he does not say the truth, and if he says the truth, we know that the drama-chewing gum-misunderstanding track is over. So, classic catch 22 here.

I wish they wrote Purab's character more convincingly. But, then well, what am I expecting from a daily soap?

Mona, you said it better. It's the informed choices that Purab made makes me cringe about him.
They are indeed riding on the idiotic MU. Pragya could have blurted the truth out on the day 2 of her wedding, she could have said more than BB being a bird when she was drunk, Abhi could have known the whole truth when he went to the temple, Suresh could have used his brains, but nah... they will drag it till it breaks...
Having said that, we got to go by what the characters do or what is shown to us- the opinions form that way.

After all, Purab is supposed to be "inspired" from Willoughby. I don't know why they were afraid to show Purab in a handsome casanova/careless image (they gave some of his scenes to Akash, lol.. and they have a little Willoughby in Abhi)- that would have made it more convincing to show why RaBul break and BB ends up with Suresh.

But let's see if they even go by the novel way or do something else!

Exactly. They have kind of confused the characters... and they should have just let Purab be the cassanova... But then how would they create the MU? You know? For that he had to be saint. So all this poor characterization feeds the MU. I guess, the other way to pave way for their marriage was to use Akash-Rachna instead... but I guess, the writers dont think as much as we do lol. :-).
