I am not hindu so I wanna ask u guys a simple question...Is it possible for a married woman to wear different mangalsutra at different occasions?I was just wondering bcoz during Puliya's marriage Pragya was wearing different mangalsutra and when abhi was trying to snatch her mangalsutra that was different...

Yes you can .. If you have more than one .. You can wear matching your outfit.. Nowadays .. Married women who wear western outfit... They wear these modern mangalsutras which are really cute.

Traditionally there is only one mangal sutra tied by your hubby never to be removed or even seen by another man! But now they are seen by eveyone and even changed if needed. In some South Indian cultures, the mangal sutra has one locket from mom's house and one from husband's. So two are to be worn together.

Some women don't wear it at all or wear at times and that's okay too with many people.

Tia gave you the perfect answer. Just like the bindis that change with the outfit (it was only kumkum in ages past), the mangalsutra changes too these days. But the real managalsutra , tied around the neck by the groom on the day of the wedding, is never supposed to be removed unless the husband passes away.

Great question for if the mangalsutra means so much to Pragya, she shouldn't be switching them around and should be sporting only the one put around her neck by Abhi. I have noticed that in the recent epis, she has been shown only with the "real" one in an effort probably to keep with the power and pavitratha of the mangalsutra track.

Yep you can my mum wears a standard one but she changes it up occasionally
