Is this how police systems are in India? If so, it's a horrible and disgusting system. Police should be professionals. Their work is to capture the wronged ones, not to judge or insult them. And as a lecturer or professor, Pragya should know that she has the right to not be treated that way. There would be no fingerprints on that bag, so how can that bag be hers? Shouldn't they check on that? Okay, maybe they are not that smart. But to make fun of her is not only not professional, but also unethical. Is that how police generally are, or is it just the show makers and writers are so bad at what they are doing to write such a flawed scene. You can't just arrest someone and drag them around into prison. Doesn't she need to be interrogated along with the other girls. They need to hear their explanation. It's a basic human right. It annoyed me a lot of how bad the police handled the whole situation. He could have just googled Abhi's wife and I am sure her picture would've appeared. The whole police station scene was nothing but bad writing. 😕

It was a pathetic scene. Just to create nonsense drama, illogical dialogues were made use of. But its beyond explanation why the makers inserted such dialogues. Its just for us to see and forget. Not to take anything seriously. This is an illogical soap, thats grabbing the max eyeballs for the time being 😊 so the makers are interested in that. Npthing else matters to them

it doesn't matter what you wear or what you look like, no one has the right to judge you. who cares if a girl or boy wears glasses, people need to stop being mean to people wearing glasses.

You're right to a large extent. The moment I saw the police's behaviour and Pragya's reaction, I was disgusted. Then, I reflected some more.

Now, the police were right to detain her since a bag with drugs was found next to her.
As you pointed out, the investigation should reveal that the bag did not have her fingerprints. CCTV footage, if any, would help too. The medical tests, unless the samples are doctored (which could be done), would prove that Pragya does not have any drug in her system too. But ... all of this takes time.

Now, did the police do anything right?

They were right to detain her. There were also lady constables while women were being detained / arrested. I fail to understand why Pragya thinks that the police should take her word that she is from a good family and release her.

Has Pragya been arrested yet? Not likely especially given that Suresh asked them not to write up the FIR yet. But, they would still have to write up the detention in the case diary, right?

The police were right to tell her that she had a right to call her family and inform them of her detention / arrest.

Now, what did they do wrong? As you said, they were very wrong in their behaviour with Pragya. Everyone, irrespective of their family backgrounds, is entitled to be treated with respect. While the inspector mocked everyone by asking them to call their family members, all of the police personnel's subsequent mockery was aimed primarily at Pragya since she was the only "innocent" detainee who was voicing her innocence and protest.

Also, the police had not started recording the statements of those who were detained.

Is this how it works in reality? Let's see if the police departments or MHA go up in arms against the creatives.

Now, the reality is that, often, the power vested in public officials -- not just the law enforcement -- gives rise to arrogance. And the behaviour we witnessed is probably the result such arrogance.

Re your point about a google search, didn't Aliya promise Abhi that she would manage the media? Do you think that Aliya managed to prevent the media from printing the photographs of Abhi's marriage and his wife? I am not sure about the extent to which this is possible in these days of social media.

What I am interested in seeing is how they resolve the situation. Will the police let her go because she is Abhi the rockstar's wife? Now, that would be inappropriate. At most, the police might turn deferential. But why? If the raid was carried out at a luxury hotel, clearly its other patrons too, who were arrested, are also well-off and are likely to be sons / daughters of rich and influential people. Further, media reports would lead us to believe that celebrities and rock stars are often times associated with drugs. So, being Abhi the rockstar's wife should, in the real world, not help Pragya's case at all.

If she is only detained, there shouldn't be a problem at all. If she is arrested, Pragya's release would have to be *law*gical -- if it's a bailable offence, she can be released immediately contingent upon a bond and Pragya giving her statement. And subsequent investigation could exonerate her.

And, why does Suresh -- someone who is otherwise well-versed with the law (given that he files PILs, etc) -- not approach a lawyer first or simultaneously? Or has he done that already? I guess we have to wait for the next episode.

That scene was just pathetic but it does happen

It is because of this behavior of some of the cops female victims do not come forward and lodge complaints in eve teasing, molestation and similar cases

It seemed like the cops did not have other ppl to interrogate

The scene and the cops in it were just so sick

I don't get it Pragya went to the restaurant and she did not carry her purse n phone?

She could have shown her ID card; her college ID card even teachers get them

She called Rock Star Abhi yeah like he was going to come; she was going to call Abhi's dadi? jinse use ye baat chupani hai

The best person to call was Purab or BB as they know everything

Bust for the sake of drama na jaane kya kya dikhaya

+++++

More than this scene I was irritated by BB Suresh scene; that girl does not let anyone speak bas make assumptions n go one blabbering

The behaviour of the police was atrocious.

But was there no other I D in that purse except the two packages of Drugs.

And why a smart woman like Pragya does not do anything but cry when we have seen her fight before for other things.

Why are the CV's bent on destroying a strong and educated character like Pragya and making her look like a moron ??

And showing these are the kind of police officers that reside in India no wonder no one wants to go to them for justice.
It is a shame that this show is on a slippery slope of idiocy .

This scene was totally overdone. I don't know why the police divulged so much into Pragya's personal life than just dealing with the drug issue. Very unprofessional.
