Suup guys? 😛

I tried to read Sense and Sensibility but I never got into it - I do know the jist of the story though (+I love Sriti's acting and so had to check this show out!) - the original story is hella confusing. But yeah the end game in S&S is the Colonel and the younger sister and the elder sister and the rich guy. So I guess in KB it's Pragya-Abhi & Suresh-Bulbul (although I have no clue where the rockstar part came from, that's just Ekta for you!)

To be honest, I'd prefer if Ekta doesn't make a complete copy of the original but rather changed a few things around (I guess she tried with the Rockstar part) -- Uh, yeah. I actually like Pragya-Suresh's relationship, it's sweet and when you have a friend that helps you out and people 'talk' about you, you do end up liking the guy purely because well, people expect you to end up together - so yeah I understand Pragya's feelings for Suresh. As for Suresh-Bulbul - I get that he is attracted to the outspoken, bubbly girl but for now I don't see them as a couple (probably because there's zilch from Bulbul's side).

I sort of like Bulbul liking Abhi? Maybe it's because I've seen SO MANY stories of fangirls in love with the idols that it makes sense (ahem, when you've watched a billion Korean dramas and watched fangirls go crazy, yeah it makes sense) - but I really really really hope there's no angst between the sisters (and that means making Bulbul negative, you hear that Ekta?!) when Pragya gets with Abhi.

Oh and on a side note, I quite like the professor Pragya/Rockstar Abhi storyline - it sounds cute! But is it me or does it sound like a fanfiction? HA.

@Zephyr29...Jane Austen's books are like mecca for many girls, at least it was until few years ago so I made the mistake of assuming the online crowd to have an idea about it if not actually reading? Plus Ekta has said this in her interviews for the show.
Ekta has liberty of giving new dimension to the characters which she has done, case in point the broomstick hair baniyan wearing OTT rockstar But she has to keep the basic premise of the adapted plot which she effed by hinting a romantic angle in Pragya-Suresh relation for a single episode thankfully 🤔

@rogerrocks...Yep the movie kandukonden kandukonden which Ash aunty did in her younger days & I took it every fan of hers would know about it 😉 It was quite famous though it was made in tamil.

@stargirl...I know you too, but where i can't remember 😆

I agree. I love her books too which made me think everyone would naturally have read them as well 😆, but it was a mistake which I discovered not so long ago 😳

Just because its Ekta I'm actually putting aside the fact that its based (however loosely) on S&S and trying to watch it as a stand-alone show. Coz with her you never know whether she would actually stick to the base material or not in the long run 🤔

I think what would really help people avoid confusion and give an idea about the story is to open a sticky post (preferably) with a brief summary of Sense & Sensibility on which the show is based. Then let people judge or compare for themselves.

Yup that sounds like a good idea..If this were P&P, i'd have suggested that ppl rather read the book cos its totally worth the time but am not too sure about S&S cos am not really fond of it per se..I found it rather underwhelming especially cos i read it right after P&P😆

For me, this forum is actually quite a relief compared to last forum I was more active on- "Ek Mutthi Aasmaan" forum. At least with the "Kumkum Bhagya" forum, all shippers seems to be welcome whether you ship Prabhi (Pragya + Abhi), Surya (Suresh + Pragya), Surbul (Suresh + Bulbul), or Bulbhi (Abhi + Bulbul), etc (I say etc. because of Arjit's character). Anyways, the EMA forum used to be like this but now it's quite the opposite. I feel like I have to walk on glass when I post on it sometimes, that's one of the reasons as to why I am takin' a break from it. I could get into more details but I won't in this post. Anyways, so far Iam overall having a good experience in this forum & I hope it stays this way.

I usually don't follow Ekta's serials, I just watch bit & pieces of them but I know about the twists & turns rainbowgirl is talkin' about 😕. Anyways, I am surprised I am following this show because it's one of her works 😆. I hope it ends up being one of her better works. My sister followed "Kaise Ye Pyar Hai" & she said it's a good show but we both are not big fans of her Zee shows.

I have never read "Sense & Sensibiliy" but even if this show is loosely based off of it, I feel one of the more important things to show are the main heroines on the show- Pragya & Bulbul ending up the right guys- the guys who they end up with in the book.

i

They will end up with the right guys...after a 20 year leap and a misunderstanding added to the mix.😆 And I bet Ekta will take Sense and Sensibility and butcher it so much tht u won't even recognize it.

I am happy that they didnt showed Suresh falling for Pragya, that would have been predictable. And also I like the turn of events with new Promo ,where its revealed that Suresh loves Bulbul and not Pragya,Only thing annoying is both Pragya and her mom eagerness and hopes from Suresh.

Oh good, I'm not the only one who found it underwhelming 😆! And that was my 1st Austen novel but later P&P more than made up for it. Even I'd rather recommend P&P for people to read.
