'I'd love to be the next item boy'

Sachin Sharma is all set to give Rakhi Sawant some serious competition

HARSHADA REGE

Though Sachin Sharma became popular as the villainous Aryan in Sony's Vadehi, he is happy that he hasn't been slotted as the bad guy. "I can understand why the audiences can't visualise an actor who plays the bad guy portraying a positive character otherwise. I have been lucky that people have not slotted me under any category," he says.
Sachin will now be seen playing Shaurya in Sony's Kulvaddhu. Sachin says, "Till date I have played characters that have evoked sympathy or anger, but this is a character that people will look up to. He is the kind of person whom parents would want their kids to emulate."
And though Sachin is busy with television, the actor is also trying to do films. "I see to it that my schedule doesn't clash because I don't want my producers to suffer in any way," says the actor.
His film Mummyji has Sachin doing an item number. And the actor is very excited about shaking a leg on the screen. "I love dancing and have enjoyed myself immensely doing the item number. I'd love to be the next item boy. I am looking forward to doing more item numbers in the future. Personally, of course, I am more of a bhangra person."
Speaking about Mummyji, Sachin says, "It's a total paisa vasool film. The film is about a mother keen to get her son married of to a girl of her choice." The film also stars Jackie Shroff
The actor is also looking ahead to sign more films. So, will he shift his focus from television to films? "No ways! Television has given me fame and recognition. I am, what I am today because of television. And no matter how many film offers I get I will not look down on doing TV serials. I would like to believe that I can balance both. Also today TV is no longer considered to be small. You have the biggest Bollywood stars on TV. It's a huge business and is supporting many people."
The actor was recently linked to Saumya Tandon aka Rusty of Aisa Desh Hai Mera. When asked about that the actor says, "I don't want to talk about it at all." Looks like the actor wants to show his moves only on screen.
