Anyone else get offended?

We all know Ekta is crazy, but one thing that she does which I find offensive is how she portrays her "upper class" (Ex- Reva)
Her clothing, for example, Shanta always makes barbs about Reva's clothing, insinuating that because she dresses like that she's a bad person, I personally find that offensive, because, well I dress like that, and I don't consider myself to be greedy, a thief, a gold digger, conniving or all those things Ekta tries to portray using Reva, and I don't like how her clothes are used as a reflector of that.
Another thing, the way Reva speaks. It is damn annoying, it's funny, but after a while she makes English speakers look stupid, you guys no what I mean.
Ekta's constant "middle class this, middle class that" gets' annoying after a while, you must agree, it's as though people with money are the worst people in the world.
I have always noticed how Ekta serials degrade the upper class, but in this drama it just seems WAY to overplayed.

tru dat sister........i dress similarly to reva but it dont mean i insult ppl who dress like kanya or even shanta ( not that u'll find many "shants style" in canada) but Shanta always makes fun of the way reva dresses, but yea Revas dialouge delivery is kinda getting on my nerves too

Exactly right, I mean we don't go around calling people who wear traditional clothes down market and stupid, so I don't think it's right to judge people according to the way they dress, I don't believe one should judge people in general.
Yea, Reva's Hinglish gets on my nerves, and it kind of makes me feel bad for myself, because I can't speak hindi, my mom translates for me, and I understand a little bit here and there, and when I hear her speak it makes me laugh, but then I think, "Omg, people must laugh at me when i try to speak Hindi"
But whatever, I don't care.

Yea.......you should be happy, that in our busy lives we have people like rewa, Shanta tyee, ranvir and Kanya that make us laugh.....try not to think too deep into a show......

thts true besides in India majority people who watch r middle class..so the trp ratings go up😉...not only ektas but all other soaps do focus on middle class women or house hold..if m not wrong😕😊

I completely agree! The message that is being conveyed through Ekta's soaps is very offensive. So people who dress in Western outfits and speak frequently in English are vindictive, conspiring witches who hate people that belong to the middle class ... wow, going by those standards, I must be an extremely evil person!

I really hate how Ekta uses the Western culture to portray characters in a negative light, while those characters that are poor and traditional are shown to be complete angels. It's not realistic at all. Good and bad traits don't depend on culture. They depend on each individual.

i dont think its meant to do that, i think its just for comic humor, i mean i think shanta is insulting her because of revas age and not her status

well I don't think Ekta was trying to just that...I think she makes Shanta say bad things about Reva's clothing because even at the age she is...she wears tube tops and strapless thing...w/ a lot of skin showing...for someone that age...well it's very odd...even in U.S. the people w/ kids don't dress like that...unless they are going to a party of some sort....I know for sure that indians never dress like that...Reva is at the age where she'll have GRANDCHILDREN. so think about it. Ekta is NOT trying to offend anyone in my opinion. She's rich too....riiiite?
