Anji settled to a daily routine to the wakeup, lunchbox, office and back home.
Ranga's help is there in every chore said above... but still some sort of boredom started spreading roots within her.
How exciting were those dates before marriage... Why before marraige, even in the early days of their marriage also, how much fun it was to wait for him after working hours. It is not that they do not go out on weekends now.. they do go almost every other weekend on drives... But it feels like that prevoius spark is missing ...
And today, Ranga forgot to wish for valentines' day!! has she become dull for him? why he is not funny and lively on those drives... earlier she would have to constantly shout at him for his concentration used to be more on her than on the road.. now his concentration is on the time to come back-so that next day's working day is not spoiled... or more worried about the rising petrol rates than admiring her new dupatta's delicate lace...Does he feel all these outings as a responsibility to be fulfilled towards her?
Anji felt like crying... she thought may be Ranga wants some space.. OK.. she would give him some space.. but she has taken leave today to surprise her husband...what to do now... thought she would visit Nidhi and findout whether this is the same case with her too... and was very much sure that her sore nerves would get some soothing when they both do the male-bashing together... She went to Mathur Mansion...
Oooff.. Dr.Ashutosh was at home and Nidhi left for work...
'What a surprise Anji.. today you are here... where is Ranga?'
'He was telling about some serious case and left very early today'.. Anji replied in a sullen voice
'Oh.. yeah.. Nidhi was helping him... so she too had to leave early.'
'But...'
'What Anji?'
'See Jijaji.. I have taken off as today is valentines' day... and Ranga didnot even remember'
'What is Valentines' day?'
'Ji?'
'Oh..yeah.. I know.. Nidhi and I celebrated two times'
'and you forgot now? within two years?'... Anji mentally started revising the list of choicest male-bashing words...in case she forgets anything...
'Isnt it now a V-day everyday?'
'What?'... Anji did not expect this... she was all geared up to give her 'peace of mind'... but now Ashutosh's statement made her put a sudden brake...
'Yes.. Anji... dont you receive the sweetness of those chocolates in his eyes when sees your face in the morning? dont you find the fragrance of red roses increasing day by day with the fragrance of your relationship? Dont you feel that you have already given him a fabulous valentines gift and he is giving you back in these small gestures?'
'Me? what gift did I give him?'..Anji raked her brains..but did not remember any...
'Gift need not be a physical one Anji.. You have given him the best gift.. his peace of mind.. and it is his turn to give you in return .. which he is doing in every way... '
