My first q - if nidhi wasn't around (or say nidhi dint exist) would Ashutosh still have been unfaithful to pallavi?

had he been celibate before mrg?

no.. he wasn't celibate before marriage.. but he hid things from his friends ( he wasn't the one to brag about his exploits)... Armaan was his lone confidante ... that too coz he was privy to Armaan's secrets

rem in 1st updt Ashu's friends tell that in coll was Ashu was more interested in biz model than ramp models??? they did tease him about girls swarming around him--coz he was a smooth talker.. they know nothing beyond it..coz Ashu selected his partner carefully..one who wouldn't bleat their story in front of the world..

Smart Ashu ne Nidhi ko kaafi time latka ke rakha.. he took time to analyse her.. only after being convinced that she wasn't the shaadi-grahasthi type did he reciprocate.. coz he didn't want to get into trouble by getting involved with someone this close to home
