Such a ghastly news Ariya 😭

IMHO, nobody is to be blamed here. I do find the principal more strict than he should have been and the devastated parents would obviously blame him coz they have lost their child... Their loss is so profound and so are their grief and frustration... 😭 The principal may not be at fault; he took it as his moral responsibility to make the girl aware of dos and don'ts of FB. But he might have said something that the girl took to her heart and got carried away and put an end to her life. Ultimately, one life withdrew from the world... What kind of hazards these social n/wing sites are introducing to us... Point to ponder... 😭

I am sure I am against principal but ... this entire incident is an example of gen-gap situation. Principal has could give only advice but cannot take steps of this manner. Making her feel ashamed or guilty in front of everyone is not done any way!

Facebook has kept a minimum age-limit, I guess 16. (May be 14.. I am not sure). But always there are two sides of the coin. Obviously the child is innocent and she got carried away by the trend.

Now since the parents have lost their child, they are angry and blaming the principal. Has the girl had not taken this step, even parents would have taken some stern steps to punish the child.. may be it is even scolding her... So, I am unable to contemplate ...calling parents emotional or principal as strict..

If I am the principal, I would have explained the girl.. never would have ignored the student, thinking it is not my responsibility also!

I take the example of IF. We all know many small children are around. As an adult, I would give advice to the children. But clearly I know, where my limits are. With all possible manner, I will explain why it is not advisable for them to be hanging around. But I would never scold them nor argue... that children will pick up from other sources any way!
Children might pick up from other sources... but that does not mean, we too would add an element to spoil them.

Perfectly put Mudraji 👏👏 Agreed with ya cent percent.

Thank u all for ur brilliant replies .
Media taking forward a bigger campaign on this matter after arresting the principal . mostly can see Negative effects than positive Effects as i feel the respect for the word " Teacher " getting decreasing . Dont know the End but seems this is not a good start .

Ariya good and thoughtful post.
But i think every new social media had two sides.Bad and good.

But we must use it as our own understanding and as a parents concern they must take care and check what their children are doing with this.
