Let me give you some food for thought... to chew on while you go feed your guests 😆She had known love. It was this tender, warm feeling that was as soft as the Pashmina shawl that enveloped her in its warmth on cold, winter nights. It was the gentle breeze that ruffled her hair at the end of sultry days! It was the hot jalebis that Dadi Bua made for her on rainy evenings. It made her feel good. It made her feel like the world was a good place to be in. It made her feel like taking her sweetheart into her arms, protecting him from the world and himself! Love was giving! She had known love! What then was this emotion? That made her burn so fiercely that she thought she would be consumed by its heat. That was this storm that uprooted her from her moorings? That was this giant wave that swept away all her ingrained values, all her inhibitions and all her reservations and pushed her to abandon herself to its force. Nothing soft or gentle about it. It made her run scared from it one moment and rush to envelop it another. It made her a whole new person, someone she was not sure she recognised or was comfortable with! She shared a love hate relationship with the person it turned her into! And what of the man who roused this emotion? The man whose arms alternated between feeling like the bliss of heaven and the fires of hell! The man who was himself the greatest threat to her peace of mind and whom she needed protecting from! The man she alternated between wanting to give her all to and digging a dagger into his heart! What then was this emotion?
