Ashuthosh pressed his forehead to her temples and whispered in his husky voice "so will you Nidhi ...Will you marry me all over again?"He looked down at her deep brown eyes which is sparkling with abundant happiness, her lips stretched to form small smile'she tilted her face upward and brushed her nose to his" Why 'why you want to marry me again?...is this because you don't remember or because you love me?" ...a small chuckle escaped his lips as he heard her say "do you love me?"'
He cupped her face in his warm hands "you are stupid 'do you know that? "
She turned to look at his face; his handsome face 'those eyes one can drown easily, that dazzling smile which does unreasonable things to her heart'she reached out and touched his cheeks and whispered "what made you think so?"
He sighed as her warm breath caressed his cheeks '." do you still have doubt about my love for you? 'still nidhi?"
Nidhi grinned "how I am supposed to know that you fell in love with this stranger?"
Ashuthosh pulled her by waist and looked straight into her eyes "what you want to hear?"
Nidhi ran her fingers on his chest and looked up at him" truth'!"
He chuckled under his breath" truth, are you ready to hear it now '?"
She smiled '" I can wait, if you are not ready yet '.considering the surrounding though 'that we are standing in public holding each other in broad day light '..!"
Ashu looked at her "You are disturbing my thought process, by telling not so important things!" Nidhi glared at him "then tell me '"
He chuckled looking at her annoyed face "How I am supposed to stop from falling in love with you, when you are so like this Nidhi'..? How can I stop myself falling for you when you sat next to me hours holding my hand without even blinking for second, gazing at my face 'how I am supposed to stop from falling in love with you Nidhi 'when you loved me those time I dint even recognized you, not even expecting anything when you Just loved me, sticking around me during my thick and thin..When you consoled me, cheered me, stood at my side all those times' it's that goodness, the warmth and softness along with the resolve and strength in you, that I love how can I not love you when you filled my empty chest with hope...You saved me somewhere along the way when I thought I lost everything, you pushed me to hope, to live!!...tell me how I cannot love you for who you are '."
She let go of him and smilingly whispered "so when are you coming to my baba's place asking for my hand '?"
He grinned and she felt his warm smile reaching till her eyes 'He wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her to him as he whispered "Immediately '" They stood their staring each other , savoring the moment 'Her thick dark hair swaying wildly, her faint sweet scent reaching his senses. He felt suddenly crowded with her thoughts 'his heart suddenly swelled with love , a kind of love which sent warm feeling rushing through his heart'.In an impulse , he bent his head and kissed her ,she gave little sigh , her lips parting slightly in surprise and expectation..He kissed her with all love which he possess for her .his mouth trailing to her cheeks, chin , ears 'but again and again returning to her lips , keep lingering there , his breath mingling with her '!
And when she drew away, he murmured softly in her ears ..." I want to kiss you again!"
Her cheeks suddenly turned red as she looked at him and murmured "why?"
He chuckled under his breath, "why? Because you are beautiful '.because I want you, because you want me too '" and he closed his lips on her, drowning in her, loosing in her 'just loving her!
Next day, Nidhi got up with big smile on her face. She came out of her room in search of him, BB who was looking at her; just smiled and replied" ashu is still sleeping ". She smiled and sat next to him '" baba , chai ladoon ?"'Bb nodded his head 'after some time Nidhi came back with his chai '.she was about turn around and go when BB patted seat next to him signaling her to sit with him '" Ashu told me that he want to marry you 'Again!"
Nidhi looked at him to find BB smiling '." He told me, today he going to meet your baba asking for your hand!"
Nidhi just nodded her head and looked down " Nidhi 'do you think this will help him ?"
Nidhi shake her head "I don't know '.may be or may be not '" and after a while she spoke again "but Baba '.sometime in the middle of the night I saw him 'saw him 'looking at our wedding album'at first I thought maybe he is trying to remember ... Remember those moments 'trying to recollect his lost memory '.but when he asked me to marry him all over again ..It occurred to me 'that, it was not only because he...he was trying to recollect those moments but somewhere he was trying to accept me as his wife which he could not do '..because he don't remember !...when a person don't feel that he lived' some of most important part of his life ..When he don't remember that he is married to me...when he feel, he did not lived those moments at all...how can he accept me as his wife '.! '..When he asked me to marry him again! '.it occurred to me'.he always loved me irrespective of situation 'always, even when he did not remembered me...in his own way 'yes, he loved me , baba'.he just wanted a way to take me back in his life all over again, he was torn between his love and reality where he don't remember that I am his wife '.I am ready to do anything if it make him happiness! '."
BB smiled and patted her back ..." these memories 'they are very strange, isn't it?..I have seen people crying that memoires don't let them live..I have seen! ..And I have seen and felt how it feel to lose all memories 'sometime I feel these memories are not just part of our past but also a part of our present'.it build us from inside , make us grow '.knitting to out flesh and blood , it keep our heart pumping !..These memories, it reminds us to function, relate with this world which we created '. And when a person loses his memory! When he feels he lost those wonderful moments which he lived'.he feel so lost and vulnerable. It's not easy to get over that '.it kills you from inside! And I feared the same with Ashu 'when I saw him first time in that hospital bed...I feared, he might fail to cope! But he did ''you saved him Nidhi, from everything 'you saved him with your love 'you understood him, stood at his side '.cheered him, you gave him new hope that one can build new memories, one can start his life where end is abrupt and unclear ..You led him along with you, to get his life back!"
Nidhi give awkward smile '." And as you say, if it makes him happy, make you both happy, then what else I want '.And see as I told everything will be fine , just like before !" she smiled and suddenly she knew his words were true that everything would be alright ..Just like before!
After helping Hk to prepare breakfast, nidhi went to Ashuthosh's room in search of him to find his bed empty; she went up to bathroom to check if he is still getting ready. She was about to turn around when pair strong arms scooped her up and she came face to face with Ashuthosh , he looked at her giving one of his devilish smile " Ashuthosh , what are you doing 'baba will come !"..He pulled her even closer "what did I heard? '..Baba told, you are going to your baba's place until we get married...is it true ?"' " Yes true 'I am going today, now please leave me " , she giggled as his soft kisses tickled her '" no I won't '"..She tried to struggle from his grip but she failed miserably as she clinged to him" why is that '?"..she glared at him in fake anger " don't you want to come to my house with barath 'to take me with you ?" 'Ashu softly kissed on her forehead " I don't care 'I don't want you to leave '." '." But I am leaving '.now leave me before baba come and caught us!" '" he won't '.now say it '."'Nidhi smirked "say what?" .. "that you won't go '." ..Nidhi giggled even more " No , I am going " ..ashu glared at her 'I won't let you go'" '" goddd' you are so bad .. " '" yes I am '.! I won't leave you until you promise that you are not going"'" I hate you " Ashu chuckled " no , you love me .." Nidhi glared at him, to that he softly kissed on her nose 'suddenly he let go of her as they heard soft knock on door , Bb came inside " Ashu wo KGh se call aya tha kuch emergency hai shayad ..Wo tmhara mobile switch off ara hai"
Something in BB's posture and the way Nidhi looked at him clicked in his mind, not sure what but he felt, he remembered something like this...a small memory twisted and pulled like taffy and rooted in his mind, slightly opening up 'not sure why ? he looked at Nidhi and as he expected she extended her hand to give his mobile which he kept under pillow, he felt all actions are written and these moments he already lived and it is just coherent version of what he lived once 'Looking at his confused face, Nidhi asked him "Is everything alright'Ashuthosh?"
He barely nodded as he picked his cell phone 'As expected He heard her asking BB to accompany for breakfast '.When they both left, he looked at door anticipating her to return. He know she will return '.He just know! And as expected she peeked inside and slowly came to him and kissed softly on his cheeks whispering "I love you '!" 'but this time, he did not tried to grab her hand like he remember once he did...Instead he just saw her sliding away and when she turned to him, he found his fingers tracing the place where she just kissed, as her murmur ringed in his ear opening a memory which he though he forgot , But as always he remembered it 'a part of it , he remembered !
Nidhi and Anjie asked Db to rest that they will prepare lunch today...Db fussed around a bit but after sometime she retired back to her room '.Nidhi mixed water to aata to prepare rotis ' , all the while thinking about Ashuthosh , he was fine till baba came to his room telling him about the phone call from KGH '.after that suddenly his expression changed , he became gloomy and desolate , one or two time she tried to ask him but he just shrugged his shoulder and rushed to KGH without even looking back at her '.she wondered what happened suddenly that he behaved liked that 'she tried calling his cell phone but to find its switched off . After preparing lunch, nidhi and anjie went outside to find Ashuthosh's car pulling up in drive way '..Dr Ranagnath and Ashuthosh got down
As he got down, his eyes searched for her 'when his eyes met her gaze, he felt those eyes are piercing through his inside '.he stared back at her, starred back at her face who is looking at him without smiling ''after a while he found his lips stretched to form small smile as he lifted his hand and waved at her '..And as if she was waiting for this, she grinned at him 'giving one of her adorable smile! 'he nodded his head and smiled at her and came towards her.
C V and DB welcomed Ashuthosh warmly'.Ashuthosh looked around to find Nidhi again disappeared from his sight, looking at his face CV smiled "Nidhi is in kitchen '. preparing lunch! "He gave sheepish grin and looked down ..." Nidhi told me ' 'that you want to talk something "
Suddenly he felt anxious, too nervous to speak or to look at CV , he opened his mouth but felt like something jabbed in his throat 'he coughed and after sometime looked up at CV " yes 'I was 'Wondering ..hmm'I mean I came here to ask .." He fell silent not sure how to put it in word '.Cv smiled "Ashuthosh you don't have to worry to ask me anything '."
He gave faint smile and nodded his head and looked at CV'" I came here to ask Nidh's hand..I want to marry her !"
DB looked at him confused " dactar ..phir se shaadi , par kyon wo to tumhari patni hai '.."
Cv signaled Db not to interrupt " Ashuthosh , you please continue '.don't mind bua's words "
Ashu smiled." I know it sound strange and irrational but ...but I don't know any other way to accept her back in my life as my wife '..yes , I love her and I want to remember those moments where I made her as my wife 'I want to register those moments of our marriage in my heart 'I don't want to forget it , I don't want to struggle to recall it 'because she means a lot to me so those moments!..."
Cv patted his back ..." when first Nidhi told me that she is in love with you, I hated you 'I resented you! I wanted to keep my little girl away from you as much as I can'.But then when you came running behind her asking her not leave you ..I gave in and agreed 'But today let me tell you one thing , I am glad that I agreed , I am glad that she chose you '.I am happy that you chose her as your life partner ..Because in the end I can see you both complete each other 'I am happy for both of you "
Cv hugged Ashuthosh and looked at his face " so , I will talk to pandit ji for muhurt '.Let me know how fast you want to take Nidhi back with you ..in your life ." he smiled and Ashuthosh grinned looking around to find Nidhi staring at him with a mixture of joy , happiness and endless love '"
After lunch they both came back to KGH, Ashuthosh rushed to ER to attend one emergency, when he got back to his cabin, he saw bouquet of flower, it was beautiful bouquet with dozen of long stemmed red roses 'He touched at those soft petals and those rich green leaves and closed his eyes just devouring the moment . Just then door opened and Nidhi came inside '.He smiled as she came to his side ..." what's wrong with you 'you behaving so strange from morning '"
Ashu chuckled looking at her face ..." Nothing like that, I was just preoccupied '"
"So you liked these flowers?"
He grinned and whispered ..." kind of " not sure why? Or what made him reply like that but when he did again he felt something moved inside, like a memory shaping up, persistently crushing on him '.He was jolted out of his thoughts as Nidhi poked him on his arm" I was expecting something more than that '." Kind of", that's so mean!"
He chuckled looking at her annoyed face " do you know , you look even more adorable when you are angry '."
She sulked even more "Stop buttering me '."
Ashu chuckled even more " well I forgot to tell you 'your baba called me few minutes back , he said there are 2 dates which are god for our marriage 'one is next week and other is next month 2nd week '.well I prefer next week , what about you ?"
"What can I say, if you already finalized everything 'I hope you ask me before planning for our HM at least"
Ashu: so you want to wait till next month, I can tell your baba to change the plan and HM ..I already booked tickets...Anjie told me you like hills and snow ..so ..hmm I thought you will be happy
Nidhi "Great ,,,Just great , I am glad at least you told me now !"
Ashu chuckled " godd nidhi '.Ok I am sorry , I was about to tell you'.it's just I love to annoy you and you know that 'and these flowers , I loved it "
Nidhi "stop lying ... "
Ashu suppressed his laugh and lifted his hand with expression "I gave up "
" ok , so give me few minutes ., I will wrap up and I will drop you 'ok ?"
Nidhi just nodded her head, just then Dr Priyanka came in "sir, we need you, there is accident case ...Looks like head injury!"
Once Dr priyanka left, he looked at nidhi with disappointment " that's ok , I will wait 'No I am not leaving you alone ..No way "and she sank back in her chair ..." Nidhi, I don't how much time it might take, nothing will happen 'how about this , I will call you and you can talk to me till I reach home '"
Nidhi shook her head "no "
Ashu "please '."
" ok , but promise me , you will call me on your way back home '."
Ashu nodded " I will "
Nidhi took her bag and went out 'he stood there anticipating her return , its felt strange to him that from morning everything ..all the events , he felt as if he lived already ..he just know now that she will return to him ..she will come back ..he was still looking at door when he saw her peeking inside ..She called his name softly and reached out and took his hand and intertwined her fingers with his 'Laying her forehead on his chest, she took deep breath and felt his body relaxed with this mere gesture, as if all the disappointment which was etched on his face just minute ago vanished...Evaporated in thin air
His free hand came up and buried in her thick black hair '" Nidhi" he whispered and she felt his mouth against her hair and then she felt him smiling'
After finishing with surgery, he collected his things and moved out to parking lot 'he picked up his cell phone to find it's switched off 'he thought that Nidhi will kill him now for not calling her
Hurriedly he got inside the car and drove away, he found Whole road is deserted, he looked out to find its drizzling slightly 'he switched on his windscreen wiper 'he felt happy that finally he is getting his life back on track, he felt because he is getting married to Nidhi and now he don't have to struggle to recall those moments of his marriage 'he was still lost in thought when suddenly something made him stop the car '.A image flickered in his mind..unsure what he is doing , he found his feet taking him towards that spot '.where he remembered once one guy lied down , hurt and injured 'he stood there looking at that spot !...Just then he felt pain 'it's not real the pain which he once felt ..not bone crushing pain which reverberated through his sense 'but this is the shadow of that pain ..it is more like remembrance of that pain ..Like a poke in his elbow'coming and going on some unseen projector 'Automatically he bent down as his hands reached his thick back hair and he looked at his fingers expecting to find blood but there was none 'there was nothing! He got up trembling stumbling with sheer force of absurdity...when he stood memories came like A hollow click of shutter, flashes of it , in bit and pieces 'like jigsaw puzzle until it collided with another to form complete shape '..Shimmering, flaming with intensity...he remembered her, remember the first time they met , the first time he fell in love 'how he confessed his love ..he remembered running behind her till Kerala and then the marriage ..he remembered ..heard her giggle ,her blissful whispers, her joyous squeals? He remembered her lips twitching, stretching to form huge grin...Her nose turning around in most adorable way ?he heard her calling out for him ..His name...Murmuring in her sleep? Just like she always does...he remembered taking her in his arms when she slept, snuggling close to her 'these noisy parade of memories frustrated him same time comforted him , he felt he is back there in those moments all over again ..he looked at towards deserted road , drenching in rain as he felt something came back to him ..after a long time , his memories ..Long forgotten once, filling his empty chest..Consoling and comforting him..it came back like bright light , it returned to him not in flashes, in bits and pieces but full ..all at once ..And once for all , it came back and then he collapsed on hard floor as his emptiness shadowed and dulled to fill his heart with which he lost 'his memories ! ..The most cherished ones
Nidhi rushed to KGH when ranganath called her informing that ashu is admitted'.when she came Dr yadav and Dr ranganath were waiting for her '." Dr Nidhi, he is fine '.I just spoke with him ..he is resting !"
Nidhi "what happened to him?"
Dr yadav smiled " he came out of his lucid period ..I just spoke with him , he is able to recall '.But not everything !
Nidhi screamed " what do you mean by not everything ? 'he don't remember anything about me '."
Dr Yadav tried to stop her but she went straight to his room to find him sleeping peacefully .she feared the worst while she sat there holding his hand '.she wondered what she will do , if he get up and forget about her all over again '.with this mere thought crushed her from inside '.
He slowly opened his eyes as he felt her warm tears on his hands 'he opened and looked at her strangely "Why are you crying '?"
She looked away and drew her hand back ..." Nidhi, I am fine..Just fainted on my way back home 'come over here " and he extended his hand , in an impulse she clutched to his fingers " do you remember me ?"
Ashuthosh looked at her strangely " of course I do ..How can I forget you? "
Nidh "then tell me , whom am I ? What I am to you "
Ashu pulled her to his side as he sat on his bed '" what happened to you, why are you asking strange question '"
She pushed him aside " just answer my question 'now "
" Ok fine 'who you are and what you are to me ..You are nidhi and wife! You the girl I fell in love then I got married '."
Nidhi: "you remember about our marriage "
Ashu spanked his head '." Of course I do and also that I love you '.now will you please stop this and give me one hug 'please ,you are scaring me "
Nidhi gave faint smile and buried her face in his chest, snuggling close to him...as he took her in his arms..Kissed softly on her head and murmured " I am fine Nidhi '.I am fine "
After sometime she went outside to find everyone waiting for her, everyone sighed in relief when she said " he is fine"
Dr Yadav came to her " nidhi ..yes , his memories came back but let me tell you ..he don't remember anything in between period '!"
Nidhi looked at him confused ..." I mean to say , He remember everything before his accident ..but not what happened after his accident ..These memoires of 1 month 12 days is lost ..Medically we call it lucid period, when a partial amnesia patient regain his memory '.it happens, but not worry..he will be fine from now ..he will remember everything from now on ! "
Just then anjie came and hugged her '" Nidhi, I am so glad 'Jijaji Is fine now!"
Nidhi look at her sadly "yes he is fine now! "
Anjie "Nidhi, you worry too much ...You should know by now that, whatever happen Jijaji can love only you 'and no one else"
Nidhi smiled hearing that "Now, will you please stop brooding and go back to him 'Please "
She nodded her head and went inside as he extends his hand asking her to sit next to him '.
Ashuthosh slowly opened his eyes and looked at Nidhi , who is fast asleep in his arm ,slowly he tried to let go of her hand which is clutching to him in tight fist '.she stirred in her sleep when he tried to do that , slowly he bent forward and kissed softly on her cheeks 'she smiled ! he could not stop smiling looking at his adorable wife ...after a bit of trying slowly he got up and came near drawer searching for his specs which he kept last night '.
While searching, he found a small envelope buried deep underneath...he took it outside and looked at it "honeymoon package "
He turned around to see Nidhi sitting on bed opening her eyes , murmuring " good morning ..!"
" nidhi , who is going for honeymoon ?"
This put Nidhi out of her sleep ..." she looked at Ashuthosh and then at envelope '.and then she smiled " we are going '!"
Ashu: we ? 'why ? 'I mean who gave this ..
Nidhi giggled :"you booked it 'now now ..no more question 'come here let me explain" and she extended her hand asking him to sit next to her '.to tell him all about what happened between them , during those 1 month 12 days ..!
