Happiness knocks again
Disclaimer- This is a fun post and isn't meant to hurt fan sentiments in any way. My frustration with the current track has made me think illogically and this OS is a result of that. ..kind of retribution for the dumb tracks- If they can come up with tripe then so can we.
The police had taken Kushi away, they had found her mother...Ashu was happy that Khushi has been reunited with her parents, but a part of him died when he saw her go away...from his house and from his life...
Khushi had brought joy to his dull life...she brought out the paternal instincts hidden in him.Ashutosh couldn't bottle up his feelings any more. He had longed to be a parent but circumstances didn't allow him to become one. ….he was married to a girl who was 18 yrs his junior. They had different ideas for their future, Nidhi dreamt of carving a niche for herself whereas Ashu had achieved professional success and looked forward to settling down.
Nidhi wasn't wrong and neither was he...suddenly, all those things people had warned him about seemed more closer to reality than he had imagined. Heady passion can't nullify the effect of generation gap...and the reality dawned on him..albeit, a bit too late.
He had started reading Nietzsche and Nidhi had no clue who he was..."Well she didn't know who Beethoven was too"
Their world view was light years apart and so was their taste and preferences..."I wonder how she eats those tasteless 2 minute noodles...I can't eat a bowl of it to save my life...can't she eat some pasta instead??? ..Or she could have told me to prepare Spaghetti Bolognese...How I wish she was a tad more refined...God doesn't make sophisticated women like Mallika anymore"
Ashu was surprised with himself...what was he thinking?? That was taboo...he walked to the book shelf and opened a book rather absentmindedly...a letter dropped from it ...or was it a bombshell???
The letter was written by Rohan...confessing undying love for Nidhi...it was written on the day of his wedding to Nidhi. Ashu wondered whether the feelings have remained the same...if yes then...??
He shuddered at the thought that went through his mind...he couldn't believe that it was he who was thinking that...how could he even think of Nidhi as a burden whom he could offload onto Rohan's shoulders. …...He loved her but …...they are temperamentally so different that they can't live with each other...wasn't that what Anjie read out from the Linda Goodman book...
Six months passed by but Ashu couldn't muster the courage to talk to Nidhi...and then he collided with his destiny and it precipitated the dissolution of his marriage. It was Mallika and she had a beautiful baby in her arms...she called her Ashima- Ash for Ashutosh and Ma for Mallika. That was the name that she had thought for her child with Ashutosh...but fate had other plans.
The baby made him crazy...had he accepted Mallika's marriage proposal, he too would have been a Dad now...
Their marriage had become jaded and it wasn't lost on them that they had grown tired of each other...Ashu was right when he accused Nidhi of regretting her decision of entering his life( he had said that almost a year ago when she was about to leave his house ).
Ashu gathered courage and decided to discuss the state of their marriage with Nidhi...To his surprise Nidhi agreed with every word he said...their marriage has irretrievably broken down and an amicable separation seemed like the most civilized thing to do...no vitriol and no rancour.
Ashu had a very very sensitive conscience and it prompted him to provide for his replacement in Nidhi's life...and that was Rohan...Ashu engineered his re-entry in Nidhi's life...
The divorce was granted and both of them moved on...Ashu married Mallika and had a son- Manish. His family felt complete- he had a wife who looked like a Mughal princess and two bright and beautiful kids- Ashima and Manish.
Nidhi however, broke Rohan's Raj Kapoor again...her choice of groom was a dashing dermatologist.
