Very nicely written Deepa, 👍🏼 Part of what you have written echo some of the stuff I wrote in your other posts and the dialog from SPiderman is something that I truly believe in...👏 This is my POV about this show and AShni in the last month or so... sorry if this post becomes too long! 😉
Ever since the big Mallu drama was nearing completion I have constantly mentioned that this show needed new characters and new situations that AShni face together rather than conflict because I always felt that that was the only way they were going to openly discuss issues, their POV and develop an understanding, the kind that would help them understand each other's POV better the next time they have a major conflict. And they will,as conflicts are natural among couples... So I am actually extremely happy that the CVs have finally caught on to this formula. But I also feel and read a method to their so called madness...
The only aberration was to perhaps re-introduce, Mallu so soon, maybe bringing her in later, especially after Nidhi was established as a doctor and was more confident as a person, would have been more effective and TRPs reflected this feeling. So once again TRP ruled and her track was cut short but not before she served a good purpose. Her presence raised many issues between Ashni, many MUs too and resulted in that separation. Then came Amar, whose presence added fuel to the fire, but also resulted in Ashni realizing that they were incomplete without the other person and both were wrong in their assumptions when they had their big tiff. All through this track Ashni fought and snapped at each other but they also revealed their hurt and frustrations to each other. Nidhi's reactions to Ahana exposed her to AShu and at the same time Ashu's protectiveness of Nidhi irked her to the extent that she lashed out at him, and claimed that he did not love her or care for her anymore. That made AShu sit back and think about it. During all this I also loved to see the emergence of DB as a calming influence to Nidhi. During these heart breaking days she was Nidhi emotional sounding board and this time even Nidhi patiently listened to her advice and many a time she explained Ashu's POV, thus helping Nidhi soften towards him.
Then the kidnapping happened and completely shattered Nidhi. Her pain and tears were enough for Ashu to realize that Nidhi still loved him and Nidhi understood that Ashu still needed her but did not know how to express it. So, started the chase that resulted in their trip down memory lane enabling them to erase those bitter memories of the last month and replace them with all those love filled memories from their courtship days. Both were renewed and ready to start afresh. All the while the audience was expecting to see some nice romance, some intimacy, etc but the CVs threw a googly with the CM track... and I say hurrya, coz now this track has resulted in a reunion of their minds, their souls, what could be sweeter after gettign each other back. I am sure the romance and intimacy will follow, and it will be even more sweeter and relevant considering that Ashni have learnt to read and understand each others thoughts a little better.
This CM track has all of a sudden solved so many pending issues within their relationship.
The most important one was Ashu's perception of Nidhi as immature which took a major u-turn. When Nidhi voiced her decision to want to assist AShu if he would let her, she was asking that question to both her senior and her husband. Ofcouse he was taken aback, but once he saw the determination on her face, the husband approved and the senior took that and ran with it...he did everything to prepare her for the task and in the process understood that when needed Nidhi can display a maturity far beyond her years... don't think he will ever call her immature anymore!
Next, Nidhi's ability as a doctor. AShu always believed in it but for the past month all he noticed were her short comings. This one on one with Nidhi has helped him realize Nidhi's talent and also realize that he was doing the right thing in letting her career develop as opposed to convince her for motherhood right away. Then again Nidhi's determination and never say die attitude won the battle for them. So, they both realized what a good team they were, perfect understanding there... and we always used to winder what got these two together, what they saw in each other.
Then, Nidhi has now found a very good mentor and guide in Ashu, someone she knows will always have only her best interests at heart. She can never doubt it!
Then AShu opening up to Nidhi, sharing his deepest thoughts about being a doctor. Nidhi understood his POV as well, the first time they had such a heart to heart. AShu also praised Nidhi's positive nature. He must be glad to have her in his team and in his life, someone who will not let him sink to the depths of sorrow, however bad the situation was. I found that Ashu was truly grateful to Nidhi, and maybe fell in love a little bit more. And maybe, just maybe we will see many more instances where they will indulge in serious conversation.
Lastly, during their separation when Ashu came to pick up Nidhi, she openly voiced her frustration about not being taken seriously or given the freedom to make her own decision. Yesterday Ashu did both that and his talk about her being a complete woman was his public answer to Nidhi, an assurance that he will never oppose her career and infact support her. This is more than the reassurance that she is seeking from him, he has done that both in words and through his actions. Again, another first for their relationship.
And, lastly, both openly displaying their love for each other even in the hospital. For a couple that wanted to keep work and personal life separate this display of affection is a first. Ashu including everyone when he announced the completion of her internship, Nidhi showing her concern as a wife for his injured hand even in the hospital, them sharing a few stolen private moments, Ashu shedding some of his stiffness and accepting Nidhi's attentins and reciprocating even, all beautifully and tastefully done to project how important this reunion was to them. A precious gift indeed on Nidhi's birthday, the kind that no amount of money can buy.
