Thanks to KPJi, middle-aged women like myself have been made to feel like we are depraved souls looking for cheap thrills from television soaps. Frustrated women who are trying to relive our youth by asking the show's middle-aged hero to behave like a twenty year old.

There are two interesting points to consider here - the first being whether KTLK is the show we would be watching if we wanted titillation on the side. I mean the hero does not even take his shirt off here, So, we don't know whether he has six packs or sixteen packs! Nor do the couple engage in eye-locks at every opportunity, nor does the heroine's dupatta fall on the hero's face every time and nor do we have twenty minute consummation scenes. So why would we look for titillation here?

The second thing of course is whether the level or intensity of passion decreases with age. A forty year old may not express himself the same way as a twenty year old would. As you grow older, you become more discerning and quality matters more than quantity. Forget all others, I think our Bollywood superstars sure would take offense at this potshot at their age, not to speak of AB. Who can forget his hunt for a con***m in Cheeni kam 😆

Anyway, the point is how much is too much? I think different people have different yardsticks. Something as over the top as the neighbouring show's twenty minute long consummation scene might be way off most people's maximum mark. The funny part is KPji feels KTLK has had too much baarish. Do you think so?

At the end of the day, this is a late night show. And yet, the quantum of passion shown is not even a quarter of what is shown on prime time. Of course, it is another matter that yet our show's leads manage to weave a potent sensual spell with mere innuendo.

Am told that a Star Plus show recently had a consummation sequence at prime time that could not be viewed with family.

So how much is really too much?

I am surprised a senior writer associating passion with age. Another joke is Ktlk has had too much baarish. My question is 40 too old for such feelings. I don't want cheap scenes. as much as i hate explicit scenes it annoys me to watch this unnatural behaviour of the lead pair. It really looks artificial.I surely don't want ashutosh to be 24 but also does not want him to be 84. I dont know about how much is too much but what we get in Ktlk is definitely much less. My only concern is after our reactions the writer must not attempt to show something unwanted in the wrong time.eg. ashu making a move when nidhi spoke about mallu.

forget about others, i think my hubby would defo take offence to the 40+ remark and i would agree with him too...😆 we are talking about 42 here not 72...someone pl tell KP ji that we are not expecting scenes for BB or DB for that matter (no offence meant to the actors please)

i don't think we want 20 minute long scenes...but we sure want to see AshNi together doing something OTHER than one sleeping and the other talking about monkeys...

Expecting nidhi to initiate in this show would be too much. She is yet to address him by his name. And her dressing gown My God. this is nothing short of women in other serials who go to bed fully decked up. Truly I 've never seen anybody with this gown anywhere. No flimsy negligees Yes. but what about lounge wears ?Anjie wears a normal night dress. Why not nidhi? Wonder this to highlight age gap. Then what about we aunties wearing all type of clothes in real life Our husbands in their 40's don't have any complaints about it. Please ask KPji to observe real life men in 40's who holds good position.

Nice post Sujatha. I feel 40 is not too old for romanticism at all. But of course, the flavor changes with age😉. I mean one cannot act like in the 20s for sure. But the passion quotient does not decrease in my opinion. In KTLK, they don't have worry about having it too much as its always been very decent. And you're right, the lead pair can spark the screen without having to act so suggestive and visual. The innuendos are enough, and most of the time their eyes say it all. They can definitely go further than what they're showing right now without crossing any line and still keeping it decent.

We just want them to show atleast normal romance between husband n wife...they met after such a long time n here one is sleepy n other is thinking of monkeys...this is childish...y cant we get to c hubby wife talking heart to heart, some teasing n some romance...i wonder what passion means in KPjis dictionary...it doesnt stand for vulgarity...we are not asking for that...but plzzz show something normal...utilize the potentials of ur awesome awesome lead pair whose mere presence on screen sets the screen on fire for us...SK n KK are just tooo good😳

Agree with your views. At 43, he can fight with goons, he can quarrel with his wife like children, but he can't romance with his young and beautiful wife. This is somewhat I can't digest. And the show will definitely suffer from this. KTLK definitely needs some romance between Ashni of course not over the top ones.
Good post Sujata.
