go back n read that thread mademoiselle , it was treated like one ..though it wasnt posted wid that intention !

I did read it and noted the responses...but believed then and now, that you made a valid point..but, as a rule, I don't respond to poll responses...because it is your reason for voting a particular way...I feel that is not up for debate...!

deepa madam, Sujatha...i laughed doesn't mean i treated the whole thing as a joke...but the way you said it and Deba's immediate reaction to it got a laugh out of me and i am sorry from the bottom of my heart if that offended you...

Sujatha, i will post my response to this one later.

i have a slightly different view on this... and this is not keeping ashu-nidhi or anyone in mind for that matter

most of the times it happens that a married couple has not thought about having a child, they are busy settling down in marriage, still it happens that child gets conceived... we cant say he/she was not wanted.. or he/she will not be loved in the same way if he/she was planned by parents... if everything would be so planned and decided, then it would not be called Life, i guess

a child whether wanted or unplanned always is a bundle of joy and only strengthens the bond of parents.. of course there can be exceptions ..

Exactly. Most of the pregnancies are unplanned. Yet the children are cherished and loved. I wonder what Nidhi's reaction for an unplanned pregnancy would be. Her reaction to the whole issue was to the extent of rudeness rather than helplessness. At this point of time I won't be surprised if she opts for an abortion.

I am a mother of two...my second one was an unplanned pregnancy...I was under tremendous pressure to terminate it because it was too soon after my first...but I could not bring myself to do it...because, planned or not, it was part of me and I already loved it more than my life...today, my daughter is my greatest support in life...

However, when a woman/man specifically says that a child is not a priority or a desire, then it is definitely unwanted...and the woman is better off not being coerced and the child is better off not being born!

Radhika, the vehemence with which Nidhi expressed herself is what made me think to make this post...she was categorical that she wanted to live life on her terms and for Ashutosh...and a child did not fit into her scheme of things then...!

but in ktlk the circumstances are diff.bec in normal marriage[without huge age gap]they had time to think and if they are not settled they can think for their settlements.here ashu is 40+ and nidhi know this very truly.and the baby dec is not only hers.when she had time to fulfilled her ambition she did not concentrated on it.

Alka, Nidhi reacted very vehemently...and yes, I don't think either spouse should beg...it should be a wholehearted choice made by both!

Nidhi said that animals give birth but a human being can be a mother...I would suggest that she tries to take a baby kitten from its mom...she will then learn what maternal instincts are...they may not be endowed with the sixth sense which gives us the power to think, but animals are actually more tuned to their inner selves and environments than us...and what is man...a civilized ( ?) animal after all! Maybe she skipped studying the Darwinian theory!

Parental care is seen in fishes which are the lowest form of chordates. In fact no animal abandons the young ones like humans. Janvars are better in this department.
