Watch from like episode 990 and you will be fine. Here is short note on story. Every main character on show except new hero has experienced child marriage! Be it young girl married to old guy, child widowhood, etc. It is the recurrent theme.

Coming to the 4 main characters. Jagya and Anandi were married in their childhood. Jagya was also married off to Gudiya in his childhood but, the town council nullified that 2nd child marriage because he was already married. His first marriage to Anandi continued into their adulthood. During the course of their childhood there were many ups and downs...Anandi took a bullet for Jagya and wasn't allowed to study, etc. While attending medical school with Anandi's support, Jagya fell in love with Gauri - who is Gudiya (his 2nd child bride). He cheated on Anandi emotionally for 5 years with Gauri. When the truth came out to Guari, he married Gauri. But, their marriage is illegal as his first marriage to Anandi though child marriage is legal. Anandi is finally divorcing Jagya of her own free will. Her in-laws want her to marry new hero -a collector.

Lastly, Anandi is no more illiterate. She is Sarpanch of Jaitsar. Shiv, new hero, who wants to marry her is the Collector. Jagat and Gauri are doctors. Jagat doesn't have his MS because he fought with medical school's dean. Gauri has MS.

I can't give full credit to Shivjee... I have watched BV off & on since beginning. He is more like icing on cake. Am also loving the karmic aspect of Jagya and Gauri's gradual downfall.
