Idid not watch yesterday's episode fearing the worst( Mallu saree burning and Ashu' reaction/ stroking and hugging). After reading the update I saw it. A decent episode after a long time The cake scene impressed me for the lead actors splendid performance rather than the declarations of Ashu. I see that as an damage control by the cvs. Notwithstanding the outrage from fans at last they made a belated attempt to redeem Ashu"s character. He confessed about not good in communicating his feelings. If this scene has been before Mallu's entry it would have appeared truly fantastic. Now we all know his communication skills are more than good with Mallu. . One need not be eloquent to express your love. Love can be expressed and felt without words .If you place a person in such high esteem how come you dont realise her distress. For that you need not be communicative just sensitive. How come you ignore a person after you married her after so many hurdles.
Another thing that disturbed me is the track record of this serial. For every good scene there will be ten bad episodes. Last week after that passionate scene demanding Nidhi to stay I thought we 'll see a changed Ashu. But the very next episode sulked. After the photo tearing scene he pacified Nidhi again he yielded to Mallu' 's unreosanable demands. Now what? I keep my fingers crossed. I am not a native Hindi speaker. My knowledge of the language is limited. Watch it with the help of English WU. I started watching this serial for its good plot, decent execution and the excellent performance of all the actors. This is my first serial and the way it is turning out is disappointing.Rohan' s letter is waiting to create problems .I wish it makes Ashu introspective ( it would be downright funny if he turns suspicious] comparing his soulmate with Rohan. It is only a wishful thinking. After all this I watch this serial out of loyalty as this is my first mega serial. NOT IN THE 11pm slot . I like to have peaceful sleep without any nightmares.

Nice feedback... i guess that is the general grouse of one and all ...that.. the positivity in the show is a tad too short lived and the negativity .. pretty overboard..!

M only hoping that Mallus negativity is on its way to being terminated.. from the life of AshNi ... after all 'umeed pe duniya kayam hai' 😊

I agree that audience pleasure derived from the romantic sequences is marred by the fact that they come on the back of scenes where Ashutosh has hurt Nidhi by choosing Mallika's needs over hers...it feels like he is throwing a few crumbs his wife's way after ensuring that he has got his way...

However, trying to look at it from Ashu's pov, aren't these acts the very gestures that you are talking about...that are trying to scream out his love for her, something he is not comfortable expressing verbally but tries to express through these gestures of his...be they the violin playing or the cake episode...

For me, Ashutosh has all through manifested his love in such gestures

The adrak wali chai seq when he was in Delhi and the shaadi seq where he insists on the godi are examples that come immediately to mind...on both occasions he made an effort to do things that might be construed as silly or juvenile coming from a man of his stature...I agree that these gestures are not a big deal in themselves but I guess, coming from a man like Ashutosh, they need to be given far more weightage then under normal circumstances...

The dash to the airport to stop Nidhi from going to Europe is yet another example...Ashutosh is an orphan, who has been repeatedly abandoned in life...he is extremely diffident and insecure when it comes to personal relations...there are bound to be self-esteem issues too...in the sense that he probably feels that he is not good enough to be loved or something like that...for him to completely surrender to the emotion and have faith in it is a big deal again...when he went to that airport, he was risking abandonment and rejection yet again...but still he went...this is because his love and faith in the relationship far outweighed his considerable insecurities...I can imagine what it must have cost Ashutosh to make that dash...

Coming to the present, he cannot tell Nidhi that he loves her more than Mallika or that he does not love Mallika...that would be preposterous and insulting the love that Nidhi and he share...because these are non-issues...Nidhi knows what she means to him and what Mallika means to him...by comparing these two emotions, he would be unfair to both...also, he knows Nidhi to be sane but believes Mallika to be insane...so, he is forced to give in to some of her ludicrous demands because he cannot reason with her...as a doctor, he is trying to go along with his patient in trying to cure her...whether his approach is right or wrong can be debated but not his intent...and, of course, he is not just a doctor but also a friend here...so his emotions are involved too and it must be hurting him when he sees his highly intelligent friend reduced to the mess that she is now...and somewhere, right or wrong, he probably holds himself somewhat responsible for this...

He however realizes that Nidhi is getting hurt...he understands that, even while she is secure in his love, she is a woman who places a lot of importance on gestures and words too...so he keeps making an attempt to tell her every time...he cannot bring himself to openly discuss his feelings of conflict or guilt...but he is hoping she will understand...and, more importantly, he is hoping that these gestures will take away some of the pain that his gestures vis a vis Mallika have caused Nidhi...it is not a " thank you for letting me have my way" but rather a "sorry for the pain I have caused you and will you please understand and forgive me for my compulsions".

Beautifully written Sujatha...I agree with all ur points...But just one thing strikes me as being inconsistent with Ashu's character as shown to date...Ashu has been shown from the outset as being a person who feels from his heart but finds it difficult and even impossible to demonstrate his feelings for anyone...But Mallika seems to be an exception toi this rule of Ashu's...He shies away from showing his feelings for Nidhi in public but not onkly does he allow Mzallu to hug him but hugs her back...not only that but he strokes her head...and by words and actions keeps assuring Mallu of his support and though he does not say the words his love also...Nidhi is at present in need of a lot of reassurance of his love...but those words and acts of comfort are like a few crumbs he throws at her..whereas for Mallu they are in abundance...Hats off to Nidhi for being satisfied with whatever little she gets from Ashu..and just hope that the writers/s do a quick and good job of resurrecting Ashu's character...

Mehek, a doctor has to work in close physical proximity with his patients...however I think his actions cannot and should not be misconstrued...Ashutosh's intent is very clear vis a vis Mallika...he allows her to hug him and hugs her back because he senses she is in need of physical reassurance of her safety...that is all he is offering...with regard to his stroking her head, I am sorry but wouldn't we all stroke an animal in pain...the suffering that a fellow-being experiences affects you to the point where you feel the need to reach out and offer comfort...nothing more and nothing less...

Nidhi is the love of his life...their touches and hugs hold a whole new meaning...they open up a whole new world of emotion to him...he is still finding his feet there...a doctor, who has never touched a fellow-being except out of a need to heal or comfort, is experiencing tactile pleasures for the first time...he is overwhelmed by what he feels and at times out of depth...he is unsure how to handle his own physical needs that have suddenly come to the fore...this is how I see it...!

Thank you, Suja...falling in love with a man like Ashu has a number of pitfalls...it will probably be a lot more complicated then the normal love story...but the rewards will also be rich...enriching in heart, mind and soul!

Tell him he should consider himself lucky that he has only a fictional character for competition 😆
