All genres of entertainment interest me: Manasi Parekh Gohil
Ano Patel, TNN | May 24, 2012, 12.00AM ISTTrue to the spirit of 'variety is the spice of life', Manasi's creative portfolio showcases her inner urge to look for creative satisfaction. Having indulged in a variety of soaps on the small screen (taking from the lead role in Gulaal to a cameo in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge), the actress went on to win a music reality show - Star Ya Rockstar last year. Like her Tellywood counterparts who made moves with their big screen endeavours, Manasi too treaded the path, albeit differently. The actress debuted in the Southern film industry last month with the Tamil movie - Leelai.
Looking cool in a white top teamed with sparkling accessories and a wrist watch, this Amdavadi girl eagerly posed for the camera with a warm smile. The actress was in the city recently to receive a prestigious award. Ask her about the event and she says, "The evening was special. I got to interact with a lot of colleagues from the same industry - singers as well as actors. I feel privileged to receive this award. But it does not end at one award, I've got lot more to do."
After acting and singing, Manasi is lately living her passion of blogging. Ask her about taking up writing professionally and she says, "I think I am a little too young to comment on whether I will pursue it professionally or not. But I am not ruling out the option."
But that is not the end of the road for her. On a brief hiatus from the small screen after the successful run of her last show - Gulaal, Manasi is currently busy doing theatre. She says, "I am currently focused on theatre. We are performing a Gujarati adaptation of Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well at the London Globe Theatre as part of the multilingual Cultural Olympiad." She laughs and adds, "I am trying to do all genres of Entertainment!"
Manasi now wants to explore more such music-related shows. She says, "I'd love to do a show like Sound Trippin; make a documentary on various sounds in our country."Manasi, who has been married to singer Parthiv Gohil for six years now, feels that life has become fulfilled. A content Manasi smiles and says, "We have realized that Parthiv and I love the work we do. He is more like my best friend."
