Well...Not engagement...but,before going to marriage hall on my wedding day...i lost my jumkha in the midst of so many things and had to wear my sister's jhumka and finish the ceremony...

After i went to my sasural...My relatives and my parents searched it for a day and finally found it...phew...😆

Janvi...Jhumka Gir Gaya...Jiju Ke Pyaar Mein...😆...But all these type of incidents Make a B'ful Memories..Isint??😊

thnx mam. Its been 2 years nw my anu bua's shadi, she hv a cute baby named aarush!! U knw y i m close 2 her? Coz she and my mom{who works in govt.officer job} both taken care of me so i'm attachd wid it n u knw i stol my fufaji' shoes becoz my bua dnt hv younger sister so ol rituals i hd performd in shadi n got 10 thousand in return lol.

Thanks for the post. It has definitely brought back fond memories for me.😳 This is my engagement story...sorry its rather long...😉 Ours is an arranged, love, arranged marriage...confused! 😕 Hmmm, let me explain.

When I got married I was studying in the US and my parents gave me the contact info for a suitable ladka who also happened to be in the US and was working. Likewise my hubby parents did the same. The catch was we were located on opposite coasts of the country and we had a 3 hr. time gap!

So, after much deliberation (just like Ashu) my hubby decided to email me, and to his surprise I responded. So we continued like this for a while till we became best online buddies. Then one day he asked me permission to call me and again to his surprise, I agreed. He did that too and we chatted for many days and became best phone buddies. Then we decided to finally meet!!

So, during one long weekend my hubby made the big cross country journey and we finally saw each other. AS I had 3 other roomies he stayed at a hotel. Our parents knew we were going to meet but to this day they still do not know a lot about the emails or phone calls!! 😆 On the second day after we met we decided to get married and we shopped for a ring together. 😳

Our parents in India had no clue what was happening till we called them and said we wanted to marry and as per US tradition the dulha has put a ring on my finger. So we are officially engaged now!! Our parents scrambled had some type of thali exchange (formal engagement) 3 days later and set a date for the wedding. To this day my hubby and I celebrate our engagement on one day and our parents celebrate it 3 days later!! 😆

@Mehek, wonderful story, its definitely a nice feeling when you realize that the one you love loves you back and will be there for you!

Vivek..Same pinch..My Mumma was A Teacher in Govt School..So My Bua took Care of Me..In My Growing Years...And I am Present Doc(Dentist) and You are Future Doc...😆

As i have said before my hubby is also 12-13 years older than me and that did not please his or my immediate family...More my family...as from his side the reason was not the age factor but my MIL wanted him to marry her friend's daughter and he refused...Also the day we got engaged even his sister was getting engaged...so all MIL, FIL and another SIL were all busy with her engagement...Hardly any of them gave us any importance...Our ring exchange was also done in fast-forward mode...(reminded me of that when I saw the engagement episode yesterday)...and then all departed for SIL's engagement...I was very upset but did not show it...But my hubby is such a darling that he understood how i felt and in the evening he and some of his friends and 2 of his aunts also organised a huge surprise party for me...not only was I surprised by the party but the best part was he, his friends and the two aunts and their families did not attend my SIL's engagement party and came for ours...When questioned my hubby only said one thing to his parents...If u cannot do anything for my wife then at least let me do it...And to date he has always stood by my side thru thick and thin...Always thank my God for giving him to me...
