This is a note to those who are all concerned with the show Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (KTLK).
The show started with mind blowing promos, has instantly made the viewers connect to it and the 'different love story' has earned their constant interest.
The entire cast was mind blowing and the special mention to the lead pair Mr Mohnish and Kritika. They lived in their characters and for a while every one forgot that these are simple actors and not those fictional characters. Such was the magic created by the actors, with their acting skills, beautiful urdu mixed Lucknowi hindi dialogues by the dialogue writers, perfect direction and flawless screen play.
The plot was based on the pure love in the backdrop of the Hospital environment. This love story was a perfect balance as the male lead was supposed to have the maturity, well balanced behavior mixed with humanly acceptable insecurities and female lead a bubbly young intelligent girl. Hero's background was very well thought of. Also, the entire plot was based on the middle class environment. The directors and script writers never forgot this point.They made the actors wear exactly like a middle class, they made the girl act exactly the way an intelligent girl would behave, they made the elders in the family respectable. A special mention to the physical appearance , mannerisms and dialogue delivery of Mr Mohnish, Ms Kritika and Ms Ruksar. The entire combination had such an effect, made a refreshing change on the Indian television otherwise infested with brainless plots, encouraging certain weaknesses and all those negative characters' cheap tactics. This show was about to become a path breaker.
All these refreshing changes have dragged a niche of viewers to this show and emotionally connect them selves to the story who otherwise would never liked to waste their time in front of the TV. This show had all the qualities of a critically acclaimed great epics. This has been a popular Tele show where viewers had spent long hours to analyze the characters. Made viewers a part of the show.
Alas! majority of the regular tele viewers could not appreciate the story..be it the age-gap, be it the already hooked-with other shows, be it the mental set up with which certain section would not like a girl in simple attire having lots of intelligence, be it the reachability to the interior locations or be it the lack of usual drama.
Though we agree that everyone has come here to do business and would not like to lose their money, but the desire and crave to grab the large viewership, instigated the downfall. No logic (earlier which was strong), suddenly the girl was made to sit at home and not doing anything (not necessary that she should work as doctor..but should have been shown utilizing her time by some other useful work..lost respect from the viewers) , butchered the characters of Dr Mallika and Dadibua. Supporting characters like Dr Ranganath and Anji did not find any place, unnecessary footage for negative shades (I dont like to name also) and most importantly a complete character assassination of Dr. Ashutosh. He was completely made a spineless & a puppet and a thorough mess.
The different shades of love that was promised initially, like
--the beautiful friendships between Mallika and Ashutosh, Nidhi and Anji, Solanki and Verma..lost their charm.
--Ashutosh who was so attached to his baba and passionate about the house where he grew had severe memory loss in this regard.
--Mallika who was the best doctor and an elegant female character was made mental wreck and repetitive.
--the maternal love showed by Dadibua reduced to a screechy avoidable double standard buddhi
-- no affection was portrayed between the leads
-- introduction of certain unnecessary characters
Even with all these backdrops still, KTLK survived due to occasional glimpses of brilliance. The love , affection, passion was brilliantly displayed by the lead pair. Some certain scenes like dargah confession, Ashutosh's realization at the temple about his love, violin date and V- day were written and executed with so much passion. Only KTLK could prove a friendship between Nidhi and Rohan could be equal to Anji and Nidhi friendship.
I refrain myself to talk about the practical problems like body doubles, no-touch romance, and certain off record inabilities..as we are not here to promote the rumors.
Now we all have a very clear idea about what to be done and what is needed for the health of the show. Also at this juncture it is a herculian and next to impossible task for any other actor to step in to the Mr Mohnish Bahl's extra large shoes and that obviously lead to the further deterioration and unpleasant death of the show.
I request all those people who are concerned with this show to think over again & try to patch up the differences and proceed. Everyone who could think of a beautiful matured story can definitely have a matured out look about all these things. You all know what is good and what is bad for your own sake.
Those who like the above post please hit the like button and give me suggestions if I had missed any. If we have a large number, put together, we can definitely do something to the show which is breathing its last along with Dr.Ashutosh.
