Manasi does a cameo role
On break from serials post-Gulaal and after winning Star Ya Rockstar, Manasi Parekh was supposed to co-host Chote Miyaan. But the singer-actor opted out of the show because of date problems.
"They wanted me to start shooting for Chote Miyaan auditions immediately. But after I won the celebrity singing competition I started travelling a lot for my stage shows. Since they didn't want to wait I decided to opt out," says Manasi who is currently doing a short cameo in Kuch To Log Kahenge. She plays Nidhi's cousin Mandira who married an American twice her age and is currently on a visit to India.
"I have never done a cameo before but I am doing one now because the producer personally requested me. Mandira's character has been introduced to make Nidhi realise the consequences of marrying a much older man," she explains. However, though she was supposed to shoot only for a couple of days, Manasi has now been asked to shoot for a few more days. "I don't know how long the character will last but I have been given to understand that it's going to be a short cameo. But you never know. If the character clicks it might get extended," she adds. Talking about her plans to return to serials in a full-fledged role, Manasi says she is getting offers for lead roles but waiting for something different and exciting.
