Many times I come across discussions, why KTLK could not gain popularity even after having the best star cast and why, even failed in retaining the confidence of loyal viewers.
As per me below are some reasons for KTLK'S today's status:
1. Inconsistency in the storyline: May it be a cause of the TRP game, but could have been done without loosing the essence of the story.
2. Inconsistency in characterization: Writer has failed to retain consistency in the personality of characters.
3. Process of falling in love between the leads and strongly bonding in a relationship has not been done convincingly.
4. Body doubles and single frames: It's shocking to see the level of BD dependency in this show.
5. The consequences of unreasonable usage of BD's and single frames:
b. Ghost talks between leads which otherwise could have created magic on screen have destroyed all the charm and appeal.
c. The over usage has been a challenge to the editors and we see editing flaws and fail to connect to the scene/or the characters.
6. The excellent screen chemistry between the leads has been completely ignored.
7. The initial passion and romance shown between the leads disappeared. In most significant scenes like Baba's heart attack news, Nidhi's disappointments, Dr A's loosing the house and many more such scenes strictly followed no touch policy failing to show the concern and the care towards each other. All made me to ask are they really in love?
8. Failure to maintain the consistency in follow up episodes leaving lots of previous incidents lingering and incomplete.
9. Impractical emphasis on the negativity.
10. Well I can't complete the list without mentioning the unrealism and illogical aspects shown which otherwise could have been handled very easily.
May be its more appealing to the urban mass but will it be successful in retaining them? For now I can only say give it some more time 😊
