I think there will be halt in the marriage counseling, at least for them as a couple.
Dev isn't completely ready to listen to Sona's issues, he assumes, love is enough. To listen to her issues and help acknowledge and then share her baggage requires a certain amount of introspection about one's own self as well as the relationship. I don't think Dev is quite there yet. He is definitely not at a place, where he can listen about his mother as well.
Ishwari is apprehensive about the counseling. Understandable. Dev should be convincing her that this is a good thing. I don't think that will happen. He will wishy-wash as usual. Result is going to be: he may become sporadic in attending sessions and not be as enthusiastic as he has been in his homework.
Dev will most likely spend more time with Sanjana now. She doesn't have the same baggage, it will be fun, no responsibility and he can relax, chatting with her. As his marriage deteriorates, he will find some solace in Sanjana. Obviously not romantically, but as a friend. She is going to read it all wrong. I think it will be a while before she finds out he is married.
This is a good track, loss of a loved one makes the couple drift apart. I wonder what happened there when Asha died. Was he stuck on business and not able to come? Or was he not able to be by Sona's side due to Ishwari? Whatever it is, this was a time Sona needed most support and if she didn't get it, she must be bottling up a lot of emotions. It all depends on exactly what happened. I can't see Dev not going to Sona during this time, on purpose. He may have a good reason. But if he does, why hasn't he told Sona that yet?
