I think somewhere Sonakshi fears that even if she'll go away...it won't matter to him at all. Now whether it is true or not... that's another thing. That's her fear which is hurting as much as Ishwari's interference. But what can she do... there's not much to do when the maa beta duo are in such a tight bond. You can't do anything if someone is just not willing to the other pov. She should realise this.

Hmm... Did Bijoy oppose Sonakshi and Dev's relationship in the past like Ishwari? What was the reason? Ishwari anyone can guess it must be coz she didn't want to share her Dev with anyone.

But then when Ishwari downed sleeping pills, Dev in a second broke it off with Sonakshi. Said stuffs like he has hurt his Mom by dating her so Sonakshi should get out of his life. Literally in a second.... Sonakshi cried & asked him to think calmly before taking rash decision...but No. Dev was firm on his stand. His Maa is not happy that he is dating her so they should separate. Sonakshi was.... obviously depressed & Bijoy observed this.

Then Sonakshi's marriage was being fixed. Sonakshi agreed because she wanted to move ahead as fast as possible.... Her fiance Ritvik was genuinely a nice guy. Sonakshi & Ritvik was developing a warm friendship & mutual respect for each other.... But Dev happened. Dev threw Sonakshi away but could not digest that she was moving on. He kept stalking her, calling her multiple times and also bullied & harrassed Ritvik. To prove that Sonakshi cannot love anyone else like she loved Dev. And to top it all, Ishwari sent some diamond bracelet (that Dev had bought for Sonakshi but couldn't gift as they broke up) with a lambi chaori wish for her new life. This is when Bijoy started totally disliking the Dixits. He went to Dixit house, returned the diamond bracelet & said his daughter didn't need it ...they had heated arguments & things turned really sour between Bijoy & Ishwari + Mami.

Then there was a newspaper scandal. A journalist got his hands on a Devakshi photo & wrote a salacious article about Dev's love accompanied by that photo & that tarnished Sonakshi's image & her fiance's father was very upset. But that misunderstanding somewhat got solved.

Then came Sonakshi's engagement night. Dev showed up there ...drank too much & fell down crashing some decorations/lampshades. Sonakshi, forgetting her engagement.... rushed to Dev & took him to his home. Ritvik & his family was upset and Ritvik's sister & father insulted Bijoy & Asha & the engagement was called off.

Bijoy was furious with both Dev & Sonakshi....but eventually forgave Sonakshi. But he still disliked Dev & Ishwari.

Then Ishwari showed up with her jholi failao drama & proposed they should get Dev & Sonakshi married. Bijoy was not keen. But he ultimately agreed because he wanted Sonakshi to be happy.

Then in the marriage phase, initially Bijoy was apprehensive of Dev but slowly they developed a good rapport. Once Sonakshi left home & came back to Bose house & Dev came to pacify her & take her back.... Dev stayed the night and Bijoy & Dev even shared drinks & Bijoy gave him tips on how to calm down your angry wife😆 But slowly things deteriorated & there were several instances where it became clear that Dev is totally under his Mom's control & he cannot/ does not stand up for Sonakshi. Dixit family (read Ishwari) started pressuring Sonakshi to conceive & Dev did nothing in support of Sonakshi. He actually asked Sonakshi to go through infertility treatment & make his mother's dream come true. Even though he doesn't care whether she can be a mother or not. Whatever that means

And then the infamous slap kand happened. Bijoy felt very humiliated. Not only he was being accused of extorting money from his SIL, trapping him through his gold digger daughter but to top it all that SIL slapped him. He was furious & didn't want to talk to Dev ever. He put his everything on up on the line, his lifelong saving, his house to payback that 5 crore Rs. But that payback also caused huge drama, Dev threw Sonakshi out of his house. And then Vicky came with police & threw the whole Bose family out on the street. He made it sound like it Dev paying them back for upsetting his mother. Bijoy got a heart attack/stroke or something similar....they didn't show it properly & the 7 years leap happened.

After that Dev was all full of attitude & insulted both Sonakshi & Bijoy at every opportunity he got. He blamed Sonakshi for their failed marriage & then said Bijoy hasn't taught his daughter on how to build relations. He said Bijoy was egoistic & made his daughter egoistic & didn't try to salvage her marriage once but took her away to Kolkata. YES. He very much insinuated that after Dev kicked Sonakshi out, it was Bijoy's responsibility to send Sonakshi back to Dev & ask her to make amends. Bijoy didn't do so because he was egoistic & by helping his daughter to move on, has messed up Devakshi's marriage. Dev was staying at Bijoy's house (because of Soha's demands) & sitting in his home he continuously kept poking & humiliating Bijoy with "Mr. Bose! Did you miss me?", mock slap gestures & BP medicines gifts.

And then after few months full of dramas, Devakshi just patched up & Dev totally forgot that he should have apologized to Bijoy for the way he behaved so far. And apparently he still calls him Mr. Bose & doesn't behave much respectfully with him.

Is it that surprising that Bijoy doesn't like Dev?

P.S. - In the many of the above instances, Sonakshi was a lot to blame too. But since you asked why Bijoy dislikes Dev, I presented the chain of events from his point of view. From what he saw & he had to put up with. Unlike Ishwari, Bijoy is not insecure or willingly stir up shits to prove his superiority. He is a wonderful father in law to Ranita. If he is not that warm towards his son in law, he has quite a few reasons for it.

Well said, you are right...forgotten details however he does not help either, as mentioned ishwari is still numero uno culprit...like why did you send my son out of room!
