In real life situation should never go back to that kind of a person once in love people are helpless so do Sona.

History repeated too , Sona had seen personally how awkward the Maa & Beta relationship was !

When I see grown up man lying down on moms lap always itself is cringeworthy ( I have seen that only on ITV shows ) .

Dev is totally helpless in front of his mom , he knew his Maa always disliked Sona !

Sona too knew that still they decided to marry consequences followed 😅

You know, that scene, after Sona's blast that she didn't want to be another Ishwari? Where Dev comes to console Ishwari, sits next to her, playing with her pallu and head on her shoulder, saying tu meri zindagi hai, dil-dhadkan-saansein dialogs?

It was the most cringeworthy scene in the show so far. 🤮🤮 I couldn't believe they were writing this and showing on TV. I have always understood Dev-Ishwari bond in Season 1, their struggles and their relationship due to that. But it was never this awkward and cringeworthy even in the worst times. This was really too much. "Dil ko jaise dhadkan ki zarurat hai, waise mujhe teri zarurat hai." Gave me serious Oedipus complex vibes.

Also every culture has a different way to show affection. For instance Pakistani shows also show this head in mom's lap mostly that's because it's south asian culture, Greeks kiss on lips when they greet their families, everyone does it regardless of gender, it's their way of showing affection.

Ishwari does suffer from narcissism and Dev is probably has a borderline personality disorder and he should ne able to maintain a balance between his mom and wife, but this particular thing you mentioned is actually adorable way to show your affection.

I don't really see any issues with grown man sleeping on his mother's lap. It's his mother, after all. It's the situation and the accompanying dialogs that make it cringeworthy.

I always knew how narcissistic and insecure Ishwari was, regarding Dev. But all those times, when he put his head on her lap, I didn't think it was awkward, he was just looking for comfort. And everyone deserves comfort in their safe place. But this season, I think the dialog writers and the screenplay writers are not really understanding the og characters and somehow its coming off very awkward.

I really didn't want Sona to go back right away. I wanted them to truly introspect what had transpired. Take real time to think about what happened and face the real issue, Ishwari's dislike of Sona, why and how much was it. Instead they rushed into a marriage no one was ready for.

To be honest, Bijoy was against the idea. Even Sonakshi was not very keen to go back to Dev the first time. She told as much when Dev came jumping to her office to tell her that his mother has given permission so they can patch up now. She was upset & she clearly told him why she doesn't want to be with him. Coming back home, she cried with Elena & Saurabh and said she could never forgive Dev for treating her like he did. Next day when Ishwari came knocking, even then she was firm on her stand. Things deteriorated when Ishwari successfully brainwashed Asha & Dadi into believing Sonakshi - Dev was just meant to be & Sonakshi's happiness was with Dev only. Bijoy & Sonakshi still wasn't convinced but Asha convinced them. Asha kind of scolded Sonakshi into believing she was being unreasonable & was keeping grudge. She should "understand" Dev & just forgive him. Back then Sonakshi was young, inexperienced & gullible. I think she got swayed by all the manipulation, emotional lecture etc. I understand why she went to Dev that time.

But the 2nd time after the 7 years separation? I, for the love of God, don't understand why patched up with him 🤦🏻 I mean....Dev didn't even properly apologize for throwing her out of the house or for saying those horrible things to her when she was at the roughest patch of her life.... He just did a fake marriage drama to manipulate her emotions. That should have told her exactly how much he thinks she is worth & should have been a clear indication of the life ahead. Any sane woman would at least want a proper explanation & apologies for all she was put through before even entertaining the idea of giving him another chance. But NO. Sonakshi madam herself went chasing after him & said sorry to him on her knees & begged him to come back to her life 😑😑 Just WHY? I still don't understand 🙄🙄

I didn't mind Asha convincing Sona to forgive Dev. Because Sona herself knew and understood all his reasons.

There were two points where they really faltered..

1. When Dev and Sona met after Sona agreeing to forgive him,, I expected that they will talk about what happened happened how it affected them,, especially her. I wanted Sona to tell him how she felt when he showed the world that she would always come second in his life and if they are going to build a life together, how would that affect them? Instead, we directly go to a marriage proposal! How do you go to a proposal when you have just gotten back minutes ago after a horrific breakup?!

2. What I really really minded was the wedding talks scene. I remember when the Dixits came to talk about marriage. There were two auspicious dates, one was a week later and another 6 months later. Bijoy wanted the later one, so the families can get to know each other better. But Asha chimes in, saying Sona is ready and we should do the earlier one! That was a really wrong decision on Asha's part. Why didn't they discuss it with the couple? Why take such decisions on their own? Why was Asha insisting on a marriage date a week later, when two days ago, Sona's engagement has just broken off so darn publicly? This was my biggest 'Why Asha?!!' moment.

As for the 7 years later stuff, I really wish Devakshi had gotten back together on their own, realizing their love and craving for each other by themselves with absolutely zero input and interference from Ishwari. Instead, we had Ishwari being a puppet master controlling not just Dev but also Sona. What was the worst is they were using some random innocent girl's feelings for all of this.

This is damn right. Every couple should talk basics before getting married, things like values, goals, responsibilities towards one's families and each other's families, careers, finances, living situation, parenting approaches. Romance and love doesn't work long term, compatibility does. Love should be there definitely but without compatibility it's just a waste.

I don't particularly feel that your spouse should be first by default or even your parents should not be first by default but you yourself should be your number one person and then fix your priorities towards both sets of people (spouse and parents) accordingly. No one should always come second be it spouse, kids or parents. Every person gets a chance to be first priority according to their needs. Needs and wants of all people should be considered and then an appropriate decision should be taken.
