Dev

Dev is the character which made an impact on me

I love all other characters too

Dev never lied about himself

It makes him most beautiful at least for me

He told ... his life is troublesome, he failed to understand relationships , he wanted to live only as “ Mother’s son”

...when Sona and Dev parted it was Dev who was destroyed , he lost his own self

...though he tried he couldn’t please any one

...His reason to be successful was to make his Mom happy during the 7 yrs he hurt his mom too

About Redemption..

What is redemption ... why must try to change another person ... basic character of a human being will be always same ...Dev equation with Maa will never change

No one is perfect and nothing is perfect

Perfection in boring ... imperfection makes people unique

Dev is like an ocean ( at times I feel that )

An ocean there is full of love like water in the sea , it as waves goes out to every one near him.

But there are hidden dangers of cyclones & tsunamis

His mind is also too deep , with lot of dark space

That is what happens to a child

... who grow up without living childhood

..., with lot of expectation to fulfill

... In a broken family with a over loving mom

... Lonely forever ,hiding in a shell always

No one trusted him with pre leap eviction notice

... not his Maa , not his love ... no one .. which led himself to believe that he was behind that

....,

He has grown up in a toxic atmosphere , without seeing a healthy couple relationship it will take time to realize .

I feel real love never try to change the person they love

Love is patient and kind

Love does not insists its own rules

Love is believe and trust

Love endures all thing

Imperfections make love beautiful !

Dev... the character is beautiful because of all its imperfections , as water wraps ocean it goes calm , rough , loving , dreadful but he is nothing but love

Life is not dream , writers are trying to show a colour

Which I want to accept , without asking for redemptions

of Dev...

corrected a bit ...every one has own choice right

This is mine ... ( so from we must ..changed I want to)

You've written so beautifully.

However I don't think asking for redemption is asking to change the person. Otherwise noone would ever grow.

Personally think Dev has had such a sad life. Pre Sona he had to face so much and and post Sona also he faced so much.

He's one of those plants that need a little more watering more love. I think this season his character is very weirdly different.

Dev as a character needs attention and affection. Be it from his mother or Sona. Even when he was with Soha he needed her affection. And with subh too he wanted as much time with him as possible. When Sona wasn't there he tried to do a lot with his mother spend a lot of time with her take her shopping for ice-cream.

His problem is that not even his mother understands him. It's wrong to see people as these scheming plotting people. I think Sona kind of understood him but they never had enough time to fully grasp how each other function and grow the blind trust.

Dev needs his family so much that he never gets time to make real long friendships.

So this new Dev is kinda weird tbh. So is sonakshi. Dev as a character can't grow distant unless something other triggering happened. Like maybe asha's death but the show doesn't want to deal with that so I mean idk..

Personally asha's death and Dev not being able to understand how to console Sona and getting angry at himself for not being able to keep her happy and getting distant would've been completely understandable. But abhi toh I don't understand only how his character has even been written.

I empathise for his struggles. And he is really cared for his family. But he won't get free ticket to hurt sona bcoz of his past. He don't hv right to call sona gold digger, family wrecker n slap bijoy. He is not like his mother who has not seen outside world much. He is educated n his behaviour towards sona and bose family unforgivable. And his life got destroyed bcoz of his own actions. He was so much egoistic he didn't bother to check how bose family r living after eviction. He did not just broke sona but entire bose famiy. How can I sympathise him for this. How can i forgive him calling bijoy budda.. And what was that Casanova dev(was dev life really got destroyed 😆). If sona had behaved in same way, was it acceptable? He need to change and bcom better person that would be beauty of character.

In our society we always tend to forego men's action. But we expect females to behave certain way..

Let's see this season how he handles relationship. Last episode I loved the way he consoled ayush. Hope we get to see responsible father atleast towards his children. He cannot say he cannot handle many things at time. And I hope he takes care that no child is hurt.

There is a saying “silent water runs deep”. Dev reminds me of that. He keeps quiet to maintain status quo, but jab explode hota hai, shakes everything up. Your ocean analogy for Dev does seem to connect in that sense.

But there is another saying “change is the only constant”. I really feel all the seasons have focused primarily on his change. Going by that trend and logic, I am sure we will see him change this season too! 😆

On another note, I got to give it to u.. I ended up googling meaning of redemption with your question. “what is redemption? Why must u try to change..” 🤣

I am serious, I knew how to use it in a sentence but by God, literal meaning surprised me.. sharing it for rest of the peeps..

the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil” &

action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, or clearing a debt.”

I will never ask for anyone’s redemption this point onwards.. karo paap aur bhugto.. makes it interesting to watch!!😈🤣

Watch the fun as it is !

Redemption is boring for Dev

He is not a criminal ... right

He is a good man , some time he do wrong things , he is not committing biggest crimes in the world .!

rudeness & ego all there , but reduced ... being mama’s boy is not a crime.

He has improved a lot

Sona had the choice to leave him forever

That choice no one took away from her , now also she can leave

Season 2 ... Dev became super dad

For Bijoy his ego is more important that daughter’s happiness that too is not great

When we speak there are certain manners , like out actions speaks in more volume than words .

Bijoy was absolutely right when he was giving Ishu piece of his mind soon after first break up ( sleeping pill drama)

After that many times he faulted

Even when he knew Dev loved Sona so much that he hid the fact Sona couldn’t conceive also , he was angry at Dev!

That is all over right !

Dev has a lot of short of comings every human has ,

He has corrected a lot of mistakes and asked sorry too

... He loves her ,

She too called him in-front of many people “ arrogant , mamma’s boy , egoistic and many other words !

She is a strong woman ...

They both fight , they are equals in that

How many men will stay back at home asking wife to go ahead not many !

Now they are grown older in a diff phase of their relationship that is what the story is ... but he is not controlling his mother again slowly becoming that “ Maa & beta “type

Maa is not as bad earlier ( pre leap)

These mother in laws always claiming their bringing up is the best is common , soon Sona should give a right reply , it makes Dev doesn’t matter .

I am at any means not supporting “ man ill treating woman!” or not talking about society in general

What I spoke only for the character Dev

He doesn’t insult women in general

I wouldnt want to change any thing on any characters. Let them have their own hits and misses and emerge better and stronger. Each one are a work in progress. If everything becomes perfect there is no story and no fun. I need a good dose of lighter moments in the show to balance the heaviness.

Dev is a complicated character. He is shaped by circumstances and guilt. All of us are to some extent shaped by circumstances. The truth is that even though we are shaped by our circumstances we cannot always hold on to that that we need to change with time because that is what life is all about. He is always riddled with guilt , guilt of hurting his mother who has sacrificed so he tries to overcompensate in turn hurting another individual who has entered his life Sona. Now he is doing the same he is riddled with guilt again that Ayush his blood needs his help the most that shows his kind nature which I applaud but in turn is he hurting his Soha.

Dev a man with single mindedness a kind man does need to learn to balance.

As this post is only about Dev I have only addressed him that too my thoughts

His character is a very complicated one with lot os layers

He is not seeing how sad & lost is Sona looks now

I think very soon he will understand

His mom is like his addiction ...no way of escaping like at time more into it , at times less

But he really is a great human being and very interesting to watch

From his hairstyles to character changes

Telling that I must say Shaheer such a mind blowing actor , really awesome actor
