This show has always been about human layers, emotions and complications in relationships. they’ve won some battles, and then lost some too. But there is no right or wrong. No absolute black and white characters and all have some flaws.
So when it comes to Rohit’s family what message are the makers trying to communicate, I keep on wondering?
From their perspective, the only thing I can think of is, perhaps Rohit was focussed on taking care of his responsibilities when he knew he had no time left? He had no attachment with Soha in any case and didn’t want to disbalance a soon to be affected Dixit family?
Why didn’t the grandparents ask after their grand daughter? There is a gender bias in their family we already know plus they have just lost their only income earning son. It is going to be overwhelming for any parent in that age bracket to then manage a young dependent, plus deal with all the emotions and financial etc details. Perhaps they are not yet in that zone to ask about Soha? Perhaps they are not too proud of their and their dear son’s actions? Perhaps, they just want to ensure their grandson is well taken care of, moving forward?
Are they selfish? Looks like it
But do they come across as 100% negative? No.
End of the day, they just fit within the character fabric of KRPKAB. They are who they are… and people like them exist. Completely in their own zone.
Damn, so much of time spent on them, and these people may not even be important to the rest of the story! Moving on….
