@sp12, please stop giving that disclaimer, we are free to express our views here. I too feel that makers are trying to cater every one's needs but I can't agree with that Bose's had love and respect for Dev some where at the corner of their hearts, best example is that birth certificate with out father's name. I don't know how every one look at this BC, from my POV it's just not disrespecting Dev, it's also disrespect for soha in terms of her identify. Instead of this I would have really appreciated Sona if she would have told soha that your father is Mr Dev dixit but he's no more. Some times I really wonder do makers really know the meaning of a BC without father's name. There is nothing wrong in progressive thinking but in that hunger don't leave a question on a kid's identify.

Latha...same thoughts here. The more they are showing the FBs, the more I am finding the non-inclusion of Dev's name in the BC and Sona's words to the teacher that 'Soha's father doesn't exist' indigestible. It's repeatedly forcing me to ask the makers,'Kya aap log hume ullu samajke baita hain?". That you think you can show anything in the name of yielding to the wishes of the viewers who wanted KRPKAB back and we will just swallow it?

Anmol (a pro-Dev viewer) who during its intial days wrote about the realistic take of KRPKAB is no more a devotee of KRPKAB.
moredottedlines (who I have felt was somewhat a Sona supporter), who used to even write metaphors on the costumes of the characters stopped watching the show after the Khatri track.
And yesterday I read, SuChi270, who used to give a balanced analysis of each episode, stopped writing after the first 2 episodes of S2.

From which it is clear, except for some Devakshi supporters, towards the end and S2 KRPKAB failed in catering to a large section of the viewers. That is why the TRP and online viewership has gone down. The only fact that makes it apart from other shows is, though the makers have lost track of the story, they somewhat are able to have that connect by raising this social welfare issues. That is it. Kaash, Sony ne February mein ye 6-month ki extension nahin diya hota!!!

Actually, I do like Erica's acting a lot. She is so refreshingly different from all the loud, screaming heroines we see on shows. I did not notice anything abt her accent in the preleap things.

I don't at all mean to diss the actress or her skills, but the way she has been asked to portray the character now. In fact, I had the same complaint for Shaheer too. In some of the epis (sending Vicky out track), he was simply too unemotional and knowing how this man can act emotional scenes, I was wondering if he is sick or something because I knew it was not his best work. Or he found the track as ridiculous as I did and could not put his best in. In Erica's case, her character has followed a pattern during postleap epis so I am sure she was asked to portray it that way deliberately.

Bolded - Though not a complaint, in the whole episode of Sona coming back to IN officially, I felt like Shaheer look lost in the scenes. He should have been shown to be lil bit excited (though in the background he was affected by reading Sona's mails and for not being there during Soha's time) whereas he looked like he was not at all interested in Sona coming back to IN. I have been trying to find out the reason for that since then; then later, I tried convincing myself that maybe at that time they would have been hinted about the show going off air and that sudden info would have been troubling him.

Actually I keep saying that Shaheer and Erica are both underutilized in post leap epis. I always felt Erica cud do justice to emotional scenes so much (loved that entire Shimla part where she simply shone) then why did they make her out to be so unemotional. Her bubbly voice was one of the things that attracted me to her preeap and then postleap, she had this monotone. I was wondering why she was doing that and then I realized that she was probably asked to bring a change in her modulation by the makers to make her seem like this strong woman. Same thing for her baby talk type thing postleap with IShwari. See, when she was Ishwari's nutritionist, she had plenty of opportunity to talk to her like that but she did not. It was all so natural and bubbly and upbeat- like really realistic. And then suddenly by end of S1, I saw her take on this too much cuddly persona when she was with Ishwari. The thing that always attracted me to her was her ability to play the role in an understated way and she was doing such a fab job of it. Why change it at all?? I think the makers ruined her characterization too that way, tho I still maintain they assassinated Dev's more thoroughly in every way:(( Poor Dev. That said, I think one of the best things abt this show is that almost all the key actors are really damn good. In recent epis Vicky is also impressing me very much. Hope he gets a good lead role soon.

Red - 100% agreeing with you.

Nitu, the fbs are representation of dil ke faisle dimaag se. Sonakshi is a person who grew up wanting fairy tale life, but fearing it too as it was opposite to what Bijoy wanted from her. He was someone who dislikes imagination, dreams and anything that is not practical and risk free. She had spent most of her life wanting that adventure and romance while projecting a no - nonsense behavior. But when she found Dev going to great lengths to make her happy, she fell for him. But she also knew that he wouldn't be the kind of guy her father would approve for her. She knows her father's exacting nature. When Dev broke up with her in the hospital, her trust in her heart broke too. She lost the belief that heart does give the right answers. She went with her mind and what it asked her to do. And her mind is ruled by Bijoy. Most the decisions she took and her actions after the breakup in hospital came from her mind. She went with the firm belief that she was superior to him and that he didn't deserve her. When she agreed to marry Dev, she did it because she felt she was doing him a favor, Dixit family a favor. Like a selfless act where she was giving herself to help a family in need.

Throughout the marriage phase, she did everything that is right from mind, but never really put her heart in most of them. She did everything with a particular goal, specific results in her mind. She wanted everyone to call her their savior and tell her that they couldn't do anything without her. Like how Ishwari or Dixit sisters attributes the family coming back together to her. When the results didn't match her expectations, she always chose to blame Dev or the others with not even once reviewing herself. All her actions were to make her seem like she cared about Dixit family selflessly. That she was a person with superior upbringing who was helping the Dixit family from the trauma of the past. In trying to prove herself, she ended up misunderstanding Dev completely. In her over confidence , she constantly judged Dev as the wrong person without really seeing beyond what was in front of her eyes. She ended up breaking up with him in the farmhouse believing she was doing the right thing. That she was unjustly treated. She kind of became a woman scorned. Her pride in her father's upbringing overtook her.

But heart was no where gone. It was still there, constantly whispering her to retrospect and asking her did she really think of Dev as she talked. All those emails are from the heart to which she never listened. There is a saying it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. If Dev is the first, Sonakshi is the second. In her fear she never loved Dev from the heart. Asha in the fb wants her to think and admit the truth. Bijoy in the fb said that Dev would have fulfilled the father's role for Soha, but also said that he hates Dev. Another thing is once again in the fb too he expected Dev to give up everything for Sonakshi. Cause according to him his daughter is priceless. And he doesn't really care what Dev does as long as his dreams for Sonakshi were fulfilled. If in the fb he had said that both would have balanced both work and home, then I would have said Bijoy realized Sonakshi needed a partner or Soha needed a father. What he wanted was kind of like a "yes man for his daughter and that is how he saw Dev as. Based on how Dev was with Ishwari.

When Sonakshi got Dev to sign that document, she did believe that Dev was the one responsible for everything. She blamed him for not being in Soha's and her life al those years. Because from her perspective Dev "rejected her. She who was better than him in every way. Who would have made him into somebody. From her pov, Dev should have followed her after that farmhouse fight. She never saw him more than a kind of puppet. Whose strings were pulled by Ishwari but when she came along wanted to do the same. She didn't really see him as his own person most of the time. Now that her mind is becoming clear of all the mess, she is starting to question herself. If she really did do the right thing. If her belief in her sense of judgment was right.

As you rightly said Boses are hypocrites. They have that sense of superiority because of their belief that they are always "right and will always do the "right thing. That their sense of morality is never wrong. And since their morals and values are so high, their making a mistake in judging people or in their actions is impossible. But now Sonakshi has started to question her "right. She is now realizing that she is not a "victim of anything as she had painted herself. She is in fact the author and is finding that she has made several mistakes in the journey of life. She is realizing how similar she is to Ishwari whom she questioned. And that is what she said in the bedroom too in the episode on Monday. When she said that just because we are mothers doesn't mean all our decisions regarding our kids are right. She is now realizing that is was wrong of her to decide for Soha. That she did the same mistake Ishwari did. That she is not as selfless as she had thought herself to be. And these fbs are needed for her to realize the blunders she has committed. And only when a person realizes that they made a mistake, that they have hurt somebody is when they can make amends. And that is the path that Sonakshi has started traveling.

She has started to feel her heart. 😃

Beautiful post Shaavi. You have a way with words which can captivate any reader.

I couldn't have agreed more with what you've written. From where I see Bijoy, I view him as someone whose assessment of people is directly proportional to how that person treats Sonakshi. Those flashbacks don't really show his soft side towards Dev, rather it only portrays how skewed his understanding is. As you rightly said, he expected Dev to come back and take Sona along, but he himself wasn't willing to move an inch. I really don't believe that these flashbacks are to protect the morality of the Boses, rather I believe that they've all been deliberately inserted to expose the flaws of the Bose family.

My first post in this forum was regarding the usage of the word 'feminist' by Dev.Back then, I had written about the misuse of the word by males but I had also said that the concept of feminism is misused/abused by females as well who often take it's meaning into an alternate universe.

The behavior of the Boses in all these flashbacks (I am strictly speaking about them hiding Soha) is a classic example of abusing the concept of feminism. It cannot be denied that in a country like India which to a great extent, is still trapped in the clutches of patriarchy, women do have to struggle. Gender equality is still a distant dream for this country BUT that does not give resourceful and competent women the license to hide their flaws under the cover of 'women rights'. The mentality that women are always at the receiving end has been drilled so heavily into our heads that we start seeing everything through that lens. That's exactly what Bijoy is doing or rather he was doing during those 7 years. He believes that it is Dev's duty to come back to Sona and that mentality serves as an excuse for hiding Soha.

Hiding Soha was a grave blunder. I would have totally understood if Sona was hesitant to tell Dev about Soha during the initial years coz she didn't have the resources back then to challenge Dev just in case Dev tried to snatch Soha(which ofcourse he wouldn't do but Sona might have felt that). However after setting up a business empire having a net worth of 400 crores, there is no excuse she can give for hiding Soha.

Taking a leap and then showing the father to be unaware of his child's existence is a very cliched concept on Indian TV but what makes it special here is the fact that this is the first show in my TV viewing experience where it's the mother who is responsible for the kid being away from his/her father.

P.S-Happy Diwali everyone !

@grace, Post leap they wanted to show Sona as a example of strong and independent woman but they ended up showing her as a arrogant and insensitive woman. I really appreciate the makers for trying to show that a kid doesn't need father's name to survive in this world but then have enough guts to say the same to the kid as well as to the entire society. That guy's name doesn't deserve to be in the BC or school form, that's great then they should have told soha also the same that it doesn't matter who her father is, her mother is every thing for her. Just because viewers questioned the Injustice done by Bose's, they comes up with a illogical FB where Sona is standing with the baby at IN gate just the way how they turned Dev into villain with one form house scene for the sake of leap. Waah ji waah. As you said the problem is we viewers doesn't have short term memory loss like the makers and writers of this show.

Really JALK makers played the game so well. How much I waited for this episode but like you said it is a Diwali shocker. Never ever I would believe the precaps unless I watch the episode. I learnt the lesson today.

Jalk, Lakshmi, after today, there is like 12 episodes left in this season. And in this 12 episodes, they have to show closure to all the open tracks. I was expecting some such thing as they showed today. And it is needed for the story to show kind of like an ending to the open chapters. During the prenup episodes, Dev had said that there wouldn't be any difference in Sonakshi's love even if she was his employer. With today's episode, he kind of became that. The whole reason of prenup was Ishwari wanting to keep Dixit millions to Dixit family, while also indirectly saying that Sonakshi was a gold digger. In today's episode, Sonakshi gave such a huge responsibility like balancing company financials and making presentation to the clients to Dev. She trusts Dev and his capabilities. And her assumption is that Saurabh or Bijoy will not have any problem with it. And initially they might not have any problem with that.

But will Mrs. Mandol leave it at that. I don't think so. She will spin the yarn in such a way that she presents to Saurabh that Sonakshi is now partnering with Dev and pushing Saurabh out. That Sonakshi used Saurabh to become big, but doesn't really care for him. Now that Dev has given away his company, Sonakshi is giving the Bose company to him and everything will go to Suhana and Shubh and Saunitha will be left with nothing. And since Saurabh is a nobody without Sonakshi, he will be empty handed. Saurabh has to tell Sonakshi that their partnership in business is over and that he wants his share. That he no longer wants to do business with her. That she cheated him, stabbed him in the back when he trusted her.

When she came up with the company plan and hid it from Dev, it was not right. Dev gave that 5cr as a business deal and was not very much influenced by personal relationships. From his perspective it was a business investment and nothing more than that. But because maami painted it like Sonakshi manipulated Dev into giving that amount, it turned into something ugly. Today Sonakshi asking Dev to give the presentation is also that. She didn't really think beyond spending some time with Shubh. But Mrs. Mandol will use this as the opportunity to say that Dev has manipulated Sonakshi into giving him her business by acting like a good guy. That his business probably was suffering and had losses, so he gave it away. She will also cite the income tax scam news. She may also manipulate Bijoy using the theft saying Dev is no longer rich and that there must be something wrong in terms of his financial condition, that is why he gave up his business and is now moving into Bose nutrition. Like saying Dev had earned money by illegal means, he was closed to getting caught, so he gave that business to his brother and he is moving into Bose company which is based on truth, honesty and real hard work. Hope I am able to convey what I am trying to convey. Appeal to Bijoy's morality. Mrs. Mandol has to skew everything like how RR did with Dixit family. And just like it happened in IN when Dev accidently slaps Bijoy, there needs to be a showdown with Dev, Ishwari, Mrs. Mandol and the Boses along with Sonakshi in role reversal.

It is all about Sonakshi realizing how skewed her family's morality actually is. It is for her to tell Bijoy how he is not the specimen of a "man" and telling him how he has failed as a father, big time. And how because of him, she has lost being a "woman". She has to tell Bijoy that because of him she failed as a wife, a mother and a DIL. That she is not a winner, but a loser.

But Shaavi Dev Dixit is still the owner of Ishwari enterprises correct ? He is way more richer than Boses and his net worth is more than Sonakshi and Saurabh combined isn't it ?
