@yetika- Well I kinda disagree tbh. He definitely needs to control his temper in front of the kids but Dev has gone out of the way to change himself for Soha. Yeah he is too lenient with her cos he had a difficult childhood and he met her after 7 years so he is afraid to hurt her in anyway but the guy is really trying and I wouldn't just dismiss him as bad influence. Also Soha was always a brat. She packed her bags and decided to leave the city when her parents refused to re unite. At that point, Soha hardly knew Dev and had just started calling him papa. So she pulled this stunt much before Dev walked out of the house twice when he fought with Sona. So it's not like she learnt this trait from Dev. Both Dev and Sona as well as Bijoy encouraged it at that point and gave in to her demands thereby setting an example that they will bend backwards to please her whenever she throws a tantrum. So she is repeating it again. And yet I don't see either of them berating her for it. The family's normal reaction back then or even now to a 6 year old packing her bags and threatening to leave in itself is ridiculous 😆Actually!

.i am not dismissing Dev as the bad influence... i meant circumstances in IN.

So much drama happens in IN.Soha must be in shock.😆.In comparison,Boses are less complicated.

daadi teaching ...it is ok to lie.papa teaching how to do drama to suite your purpose.Golu teaching how to cheat.Vicky (brother) thrown out of the house.Elena maasi Separating her from her brother, mumma papa fighting.I am sure she must be thinking her life before coming to IN,was better.

Wow. Except Dev nobody in the family was this affected when they got to know that Vicky did so much damage to Dev and Sonakshi's life. They were all very casual about it and now one slap on Vicky everybody feels some great calamity has loomed over the family. Everyone used Dev as they wanted and still do. What kind of a family is this? Everyone is a hypocrite.Of all Ishwari, Ex-GKB, are behaving as it they are saint and Elena don't even want talk about her. They have been playing with this guy's emotions for 350 episodes. Blood boils watching the episode. Everybody understands everyones pain except Dev's who has been suffering from episode 1 eventhough some of them are his own mistakes and he paid heavy price for it. Even if vicky returns atleast I hope they don't show Dev and Sonakshi beleive Vicky is a changed man. Don't make them so naive after all.

BTW- Shaheer was looking hot in that maroon shirt and white pant.

I think the issue for Dev stems from the fact that he had to "work" for Soha's approval as a father. Dev is only Soha's papa as long as he has Soha's approval. So how can he ever reasonably take a hard line with Soha? Plus he is also really new to fatherhood. I partially blame Sona for all of this mess. She never really gave Dev the rights of a father. Even when Soha had a tummy ache, Sona didn't feel that Dev had a right to know because of their personal issues. Subconsciously Sona taught Soha to not respect Dev but in doing so she's given Soha the idea that she can question all her parental figures. If Soha was given the right to choose whether or not she wants her father in her life, she can just as easily choose whether or not she wants her mother in her life. Hence her reasoning to leave town if her parents didn't do as she wished. The problem all stems from the idea in Soha's head that if Dev couldn't keep Sona happy then he wouldn't be able to keep Soha happy. But at point Sona should've corrected her and said that the point of a parental relationship isn't to give the child happiness. Its to give them a good upbringing so they can become a healthy adult. Happiness is part of that but its not the goal of that relationship. Just as Sona was telling Dev that there is a difference between a spousal relationship and a parental relationship, Sona should've told Soha the same thing when Soha posed that original question.

But I also don't entirely blame Sona because part of it is just the dynamics of a broken family. Parents often tend to overcompensate with their children for fear of losing them to the other spouse. But now is really Sona's turn to take up the mantle and teach Soha appropriate behavior. Out of everyone she is the one with the most secure relationship with Soha, so she is the only one who can really take a stand.

Thank u Elena for talking to Dev like that, he deserved since he cared of Tripatis for 7 plus year and looked after Golu has his child.

Seeing the latest episodes and Soha's tantrums I feel like the writers are from other part of the world where even the small punishments of parents considered as big crime. The Indian upbringing is the best IMO , the parents usually dismiss the unfair demands of the kids, they punish their kids when they misbehave . But here both Sonakshi and Dev dance according to the tunes of a 7 year old immature girl . Come on that girl is immature , she doesn't know the right and wrong , instead of approving everything , make her understand that she is wrong .
Dev's approach to Vicky's crimes are wrong too . Though the Dikshit family members are selfish and change their rules according to their convenience , Dev could have shared his perspective too . He should have clearly said that he cannot trust Vicky easily as he was cheating him for years , he could have said that Vicky can live with his family but he cannot live in this house .

@malikakas- I think the mentioned the same thing a few days back. Dev is probably petrified to even shout at Soha. He din have issues being strict with Riya or Nikki pre leap and he din exactly spoil them. Again with Neha though, since guilt was always the predominant factor, she got her way with almost everything. I see something similar with Soha. He met her after 6 years and he has no idea about her personality or what makes her tick. Also she refused to call him papa and asked him to prove his worth. Am sure all this is always playing in his head and one mistake and she would probably go back to Mr. Dixit instead of papa. Now that is a terrible feeling 😆 Between Soha and Dev, it's difficult to figure out who is the adult cos he is always pandering to her even when she is being bratty. I suspect he is highly insecure about his place in her life and is always walking on egg shells around her. And Soha calling him a bad father and refusing to live with him after just one incident might have added to his insecurity. The day I see him act like a parent or be strict with her when she acts like a brat is the day I will believe he truly feels secure about their relationship 😆
