Chapter Twenty Two
"GET-OUT!!!!!!!!!...nikal jao mere ghar se...tumhari himmat kaise hui meri beti ke saath itna ghinouna khel khelne ki...tumhe kya laga tha ki Sona akeli hai iss duniya mein...uske papa abhi bhi jinda hai...hum apni beti ko protect bhi kar sakte hai aur uska khayaal bhi rakh sakte hai...tumhe uski chinta karne ki jaroorat nahin hai...apna samaan bando aur niklo yahaan se......Sona stirred in her sleep, she realized she hadn't even moved a bit from where Dev had tucked in last night...listening to all the commotion in her living room she couldn't make a sense out of what was happening around her...she swiftly moved her hand to Dev's side of the bed to feel his presence around her but alas...he was nowhere to be seen...her heart sank as she recollected their last night's conversation... tumhare gharwaalaon ko humari shaadi ka sach to pata hona chahiye...aisa karte hai kal subah hi unhe sab bata dete hai...Dev's words echoed in her ears as she slipped the duvet off her body and ran out of the room to find out what was the exact matter.

As she stood on the stairs taking the support of the railing, she felt her heart sink as the biggest fear of her life had come true...Dev had probably confided in her dad and now her father who was now quite livid, was hell bent on throwing Dev out of their house...Asha kept on persuading him to forgive Dev and make a new beginning...but Bijoy being himself turned down all their pleas and ordered Dev to leave his house immediately...Dev stood there with his hands folded and eyes welled up as Sona felt like she had been hit on her head by a big sized boulder...her trance was broken by the next set of words that rolled out of Bijoy's mouth...agar tum Jay ke bete nahin hote na to main tumhe abhi police ke hawaale kar deta...meri beti ko dara dhamkakar usse jabardasti shaadi karne ke jurm mein...par kya karu...majboor hoon apni dosti ke haatoan...isiliye sirf tumhe iss ghar se nikaal kar hi chain milega mujhe...isse pehle ki mera gussa aur badhe, niklo mere ghar se...apne aap nikloge yaa mein dhakke maar ke nikalu......Sona's felt her cheeks dampen more as Bijoy's poisonous words made Dev feel all the more guilty...yes he had wronged her, he had bullied her a lot...he had treated her like thrash, even tried to molest her when she had no one from her family to save her from his clutches...but then only she knew what all he had gone through when he had realized the truth...the way he had apologized, the way he had earned her forgiveness, all the hardships he was ready to bear just for her sake...the way he had given her a chance to live her dream life and not forcing her to fulfill her duties of being his wife...only she knew how much he cared for her, how much he supported her...
A remote feeling in her gave her the courage to stand up for him and speak against her dad...maybe it was the feeling of love for him which she had held back in a quiet and dark corner of her heart...she sprang up to her feet and ran down the stairs to stand between Dev and her dad...agar Dev ko sazaa dene ka haq kisiko hai to woh sirf mujhe hai papa...Dev ne jo kuch bhi galat kiya hai woh mere saath kiya hai...isiliye uske saath kya karna hai yeh sirf main decide karungi......Sona's words were enough to put a stop Bijoy's continuous rant as well as drill some life into a lifeless Dev...to kya ab yeh tumhara sab kuch ho gaya hai?...kya ab tumhare papa ko tumhari life ka koi bhi decision lene ka haq nahin hai?...yeh mat bhoolo Sona ki tum jahaan khadi ho woh mera ghar hai...aur Dev ne tumhare saath galat kiya hai to tumhara pita hone ke naate main use sazaa dene ka haq rakhta hoon...aur main use sazaa jaroor dunga......Bijoy being Sona's father was quite adamant about his decision...
"aap aisa kuch nahin karenge papa...aur aap Dev ko kyun blame kar rahe hai...jab ki aap khud bhi iske jitney hi gunehagaar hain...maana ki isne jo kiya woh galat tha...par aapne kaunsa sahi kaam kiya hai...aapko bhi to apni beti pe bharosa nahin tha...jab Dev ne aapko mere khilaaf patti padhai to aap maan gaye...ek baar bhi aapko yeh khayaal nahin aaya ki aapko mera saath dena chahiye...ki aakar mujhse pooche ki sach kya hai...aapko sirf apne paise aur status ki padi hai papa...aap bass har haal mein apna ego satisfy karna chahte hai...bhale hi Dev ne yeh sab mujhse badla lene keliye kiya tha...par aaj is waqt sach yehi hai ki iss ghar mein agar koi sabse jyaada khush hai to woh main hoon...Dev se accha life partner shayad hi mujhe koi mil sakta tha...aapne uss waqt apni beti ka saath chod diya tha na jab mujhe aapki sabse jyaada jaroorat thi...to ab aap mera saath na hi de to behtar hai...ab mera jo bhi bhala yaa bura hona hai Dev ke saath hi hoga... ab main isse alag nahin reh sakti papa...isiliye yaa to Dev yehi rahega ya phir main bhi iske saath iss ghar se jaungi......never had she even in her widest dream opposed her dad...but today she had to do it as it was not just her matter today...Dev was involved in it as well...
"tumhe pata bhi hai tum kya bol rahi ho Sona...jiss insaan ne tumhe dhamkakar tumse shaadi ki tum uska saath dene ki baat kar rahi ho...socha hai ki aage chalkar yeh phirse tumhe dhoka dega to tum kahaan jaogi?...tab lautkar agar apne papa ke ghar aaogi na to iss ghar mein tumhare liye koi jagah nahin hogi...to ab tum faisla karo ki tumhe kya karna hai...iske saath ghar chodkar jaana hai yaa isi ghar mein rehna hai...main ab aage kuch nahi bolunga...bass ek baat tay hai ki yeh iss ghar mein nahi reh sakta......Bijoy gave his predicament as Sona kept on pleading to him to pardon Dev and let her live with him...aap fikar mat kijiye papa, main aapko aur pareshan nahin karunga...aapne sahi kahaan, maine galti kii hai aur mujhe sazaa milni chahiye...main abhi iss ghar se chala jaunga, par Sona ko apne saath nahin lekar jaunga...woh saath tabhi aayegi jab aap use manjoori denge......Dev also was hell bent on seeking his forgiveness...
Dev quietly moved towards their room as Bijoy seemed to be least affected by their pleading...getting into the room he started packing his stuff as all the moments they had spent together in this room flashed infront of him...this place would always remain special for him as this was the place where his Cheeku had forgiven him for the biggest folly of his life...this was where he had realized his love for Sona...here he had shared the first kiss of his life with the girl he loved the most...it was here they had agreed to behave like typical teenager couple to enjoy every aspect of dating...for him, this would always be the most favorite spot of his life...

Asha shook Sona to bring her back to reality...turning around she found Dev missing from his spot...she had got herself so engrossed in pleading forgiveness from her dad that she had failed to notice when Dev had moved out from her sight...gathering herself she made a dash to her room only to find Dev packing his stuff away...shoving his packed clothes out of his bag she held him by his collar...tum kahin nahin jaoge...suna tumne...tum iss ghar mein aaye apni marzi se the par jaoge meri marzi se...tumne kya samajh rakha hai khudko...sirf apni manmaani karni haina tumhe...mana kiya tha na maine...mana kiya tha ki tum papa se kuch bhi nahin kahoge...par tumne kya kiya...jaakar saara sach bata diya unhe...how could you Dev?...aisa karne se pehle ek baar bhi tumhe mera khayaal nahin aaya?...abhi abhi to humare beech sabkuch sahi ho raha tha...hum apne rishte ko naye sire se jeena shuru kiya tha...ek dusre ko samajhne ki koshish kar rahe the...ek doosre se pyaar karne ki koshish kar rahe the...aur tumne sab bigaad diya...kya milta hai tumhe yeh sab karke...kya humesha tum meri khushiyan cheen ne ka hi kaam karte ho?...why Dev?...why?...she sobbed bitterly in his embrace as he didn't even have the courage to console her...what she said was absolutely right...he had ruined everything...by not listening to her yet again...
He tried to encircle his arms around her when she jerked him away from her...haath mat lagana mujhe, koi haq nahin hai tumhe mujhe choone ka...tumhe jo karna tha tumne kar diya...ab meri bhi ek baat sunlo...tum yahi rahoge...tumhe jo karna hai karo lekin papa ko manao...main kuch nahin jaanti...tum yahaan se kahin nahin jaoge bass......huffing dejectedly she went and sat by the window side starring into the oblivion...Dev walked upto her and placed his hand on her shoulder only to be shoved by her...he repeated his action few times before she got up irked and started moving out of the room...before she could step out of the room, Dev quickly grabbed her from behind and locked the door...back hugging her he hid his face into the crook of her neck as she calmed down in his hold...both of them wept their hearts out as she caressed his slightly stubbled cheeks and he dug his nose deeper into her nape...
"sach nahin batata to papa humesha tumse nafrat karte...aur koi mujhse nafrat kare yeh mujhe bardaasht hai...par koi tumhe galat samjhe yeh main dekh nahin sakta...main majboor tha Cheeku...mere paas aur koi raasta nahin tha... I'm sorry......he spoke between his sobs as she turned around in his hold to engulf him in her broke crushing hug...I'm sorry Bunny...maine tumpe itna chillaya...tumhe blame kiya...jabki yeh sab tum mere liye kar rahe the...lekin main tumse alag bhi to nahin reh sakti...tumhare door jaane ke khayaal se hi mera dil baith jaata hai...please mujhe chodkar mat jaao...hum dono to besties haina...you had promised me ki tum humesha mere saath rahoge...please don't go......she pleaded as she calmed him down simultaneously by rubbing her hands on his back...
Breaking the hug, Dev cupped her face and placed a longing kiss on her forehead, as though conveying all his love to her through it...jaana to padega Sona...kyunki maine itni badi galti jo ki hai...aur iski sazaa bhi mujhe milni chahiye...tum bohot acchi ho, tumne mujhe asaani se maaf kar diya...par mujhe mere gunaah ki sazaa to milni hi thi...yeh samajh lo ki papa ne woh saaza mujhe dedi...tumse door rehna kisi sazaa se kam hai kya?......he touched their foreheads together as they consoled each other...par hum itna sad kyun ho rahe hai...hum kaunsa humesha keliye alag ho rahe hain...laila-majnu types...bohot jald papa ko manakar main tumhe yahaan se le jaunga...aur phir hum dono ek saath rahenge...humesha keliye...aur abhi bhi hum kaunsa ek doosre se door hain...ek hi shehar mein hain...ek hi office mein kaam karte hain...aur tumhare papa ne mujhe sirf iss ghar se jaane ko kahaan hai, tumhari life se nahin...hum jab chahe mil sakte hai aur papa humein rok nahin sakte...kyunki main aaj bhi tumhara pati hoon Mrs. Dixit...meri girlfriend banne ke chakkar mein yeh baat bhool mat jaana tum......he smirked to her earning a whack from her in turn giggling at his antics...
"par Dev, main tumhare saath kyun nahin chal sakti...papa ne tumhe iss ghar se jaane keliye kahaan hai, mujhe saath na le jaane keliye to nahin bola haina......she reasoned out as he made her sit on the edge of the bed, entwining his fingers with hers...aise thodi na le jaunga apni wife ko uske papa ke ghar se...pichli baar bhaga ke shaadi ki thi...iss baar wahi galti nahin karunga...iss baar tum mere ghar aaogi to apne gharwaaloan ki marzi se aaogi...bhale hi ismein kitna bhi samay kyun na lag jaye......he squeezed her palms as her eyes twinkled with a new hope...promise?......she asked him...Bun-Chi promise......he replied to her as they shared their famous handshake...

Dev and Sona walked down the stairs holding his bags...placing his bag down, Dev bowed down to seek blessings from Asha and Bijoy...while Bijoy plainly ignored him and walked into his room downstairs, Asha placed her hand lovingly on his head and patted his back...pulling him up she took him to a corner and said...iss baar jyaada der mat lagana...Sona ko jaldi yahaan se leke jaana......Dev nodded and put his arm around her shoulder to pacify her as Sona strained her ears to hear what all these two were talking about...meanwhile Asha asked her to accompany Dev till his car as she left the room to leave the love birds all by themselves...
"andar mumma se kya baatein ho rahi thi?......she nudged him as he silently smirked while loading his bags in his car, irking her all the more...kuch nahin...bass woh humara secret hai...tumhe nahin bata sakte......he ignored her questions and went to take the driver's seat as Sona pulled him back by his arm right on time...oye hello...secret tum sirf mere saath rakh sakte ho ok...aur kisike saath nahin...kyunki tumhari gf main hoon, mumma nahin...he laughed off at her childishness and possessiveness as he pulled her into him by encircling her waist...Sona suddenly became all shy as she felt his hold on her getting tighter...trying to free herself from her hold she spoke...Dev kya kar rahe ho...chodo...hum kamre mein thodi na hain...yeh sadak hai yahaan koi bhi aa sakta hai...kisine dekh liya to kya sochega...aur waise bhi humne pact banaya tha na ki hum sirf acche waale bf-gf banenge...yeh sab badmaashi nahin chalegi......Dev quickly left her and moved back two steps before bending down and leaning into her, cocking his eyebrow...baat to tum aise kar rahi ho jaise hum apne kamre mein bohot kuch karte hai...karte to hum wahaan bhi kuch nahin hai...to yahaan kaunsa teer maar lenge?......his flirty talks made her fumble for words...
Pushing him slightly she tried giving him back looking everywhere else other than his face...dekho, yeh aisi baatein mujhse karna tumha allowed nahin hai...woh bhi tab jab tum mere ghar ke bahaar ho...pata haina, papa ne tumhe mujhse door rehne ko kahaan hai...kya tum unki baat bhi nahin manoge?...she tried to divert his attention but he was too smart enough to get carried away by her talks...pulling her back into himself he tucked her strands behind her earlobe and whispered into her ear seductively...apne papa se kehna ki main unse nahin darta...main unki beti se jab chahu jaise chahu pyaar jataunga aur woh mujhe rok nahin payenge...waise tumhare papa to kya tum bhi mujhe rok nahin paogi......saying so he leaned in hinting to latch at her quivering lips as she tried to bend back in his hold to prevent him from doing so...sensing him desperate to close the distance between them she decided to give up and shut her eyes tightly in fear...she remained in that position for quite some time as she waited for him to crash his lips onto hers...as she didn't feel him do so she tried opening her eyes to check him out...as she was about to open her eyes she heard him speak out...bye for now...see you at office in sometime...till then miss me Mrs Dixit......he winked at her as she lowered her gaze blushing profusely at his display of affection...he quickly pecked her forehead and settled in his car, as Sona waved to him till he was out of her sight...

As she got back to her room to get ready for her office, her phone beeped with an incoming message...she picked up her phone to check her whatsapp, a smile crept on her face immediately as she received a hug emoji from Dev...he had reached office safely and was waiting for her to arrive soon...she replied to him by a blushing emoji and speeded up her tasks...
Her phone beeped again as she smiled sensing Dev's eagerness to meet her...unlocking her screen she looked into the phone as her smile vanished...the message she had received was not from Dev but from her cousin Elena...she quickly dialed her number and waited for her to pick up the call...a squealing Elena replied to her on the other side...Sona...kaisi hai tu?...duffer tu mujhe bhool gayi na...shaadi kya hogayi tere liye teri behen parayi hogayi?......Elena spoke in one breath not sparring a single chance to Sona to speak up...sab akeli hi bolegi yaa mujhe bhi bolne degi?...main tujhe koi bhooli nahin hoon...bass ek ke baad ek itna kuch hota raha life mein ki tujhse baat karne ka mauka hi nahin mila......she sighed recollecting the tough times she had faced in the early days of her marriage...seedhe seedhe bol na ki Dev jeeju tujhe khud mein itna busy rakhte hai ki tujhe kuch aur karne ka time hi nahin milta...waise tu kaafi bold nikli haan...bhaag ke shaadi n all!!!!!!...Elena teased her mercilessly as she shrugged her shoulder, shyness dripping from her every feature...aisa kuch bhi nahin hai...woh maine office join kiya haina...toh din usime nikal jaata hai aur raat ko......she was about to tell her something when Elena cut her off midway...aur raat ko Dev jeeju tujhe akela chodte hi kahaan honge?...kyun?......Elena was at her notorious best today...
"chup kar badmaash!!!!!!!!!...bohot bolne lagi hai tu...aur yeh hottie Dev se Dev jeeju kab se ban gaya?......she enquired curiously...arrey yaar tab ki baat aur thi...ab ki baat aur hai...tab main uspe khul ke line maar sakti thi...lekin ab meri itni acchi kismet kahaan?...ab to Dev mujhe milne se raha......she said dramatically, making Sona squirm in frustration...sochna bhi matt...tere liye Dev jeeju hi theek hai......she quickly put forth her authority on Dev...accha jii...itni possessiveness!!!!!!!!!!!...haan haan bhala kyun nahin?...aakhir itne hot pati ko bhala kaise koi khula chod dega?......Elena commented making Sona roll her eyes...
"yeh sab chod aur yeh bata, ki tu kab tak pohunchegi?... ...Sona tried her best to avoid any embarrassing talks with Elena...kab tak pohunchegi nahin, pahunch gayi...bass ghar pohunchne hi waali hoon...Dev jeeju wahin par haina?...unse kehna ki office thodi der se jaaye...main unhise milne aa rahi hoon...chal abhi phone rakhti hoon...bye... ...Elena put down the phone hurriedly as Sona wondered how would she explain to her the current scenario?...she was worried thinking about Elena's reaction on knowing the entire truth about her marriage...she had to take control of the situation before her father would blow things out of proportion...she decided to take an off from office today and talk her heart out to Elena...picking up her phone she dialed Dev's number to inform him, but alas his phone was not reachable...giving up she left a voice message for him and instead called up Tina to inform her...she wondered how would Dev react to find her not present at office...
