With Sam's permission, I'd like to link a discussion here. What a I also want to talk about isn't so much about pyar main milawat... but more about a few things that got discussed in the post above.

Asha and elena as much as as Devakshi shippers, they are getting ahead of themselves. I am glad Asha asked elena to put a reign on her excitement. Because after what happened tonight, Sonakshi really doesn't need anyone pushing her into considering remarriage to Dev. It needs to come from a place of ultimate confidence and care in each other from both sides. Dev made it very clear he understands his mistakes. He wants to build a life with her and their child(Golu 😭)... however, sona has so many emotions to handle. There should be no pushing and shoving from either side.

Dev's confession was so honest. I hadn't expected anything can beat his original confession. But today was just another level of expression. Given that I was firmly sat in the sufiyana love land, this behoshi ka confession has drugged me too. This is exactly what I feel about the soulmate connection. When the truth comes out, the floodgates open. Nothing can stop it. I like how the distinction between the soulmate connection and the practicality of married life has been brought to the forefront. In season 1, the confession and the love story was all fairytale like. Dev fell in love with a girl who was his family favourite. Sona fell for her prince charming. But when life gave them a reality check, they broke. No wonder, that deep soul connection still exists between the two of them. When Dev said all those things, he was speaking from his heart. When he woke up, his initial reaction was denial. But then both of them acknowledged that the truth is what Dev said in his subconscious state.

But sona was awake. She knew whatever Dev said is true and lovely. But it's not practical for them to be together again. Now with Soha in the mix, it's dangerous. This girl who used to dream of a fairytale, has grown into a mother who needs to think about her child's day to day securities. The same applies to dev too. In his conscious state, he articulates their relationship status as just that- we are not together, we just live together.

These two never separated at the soul level. But they never became one team at the 'life partner' level. If season 1 gave us devakshi, season 2 will give us Mr and Mrs Dixit (surprisingly that is how they were addressed as just before they became one at worldly level aka consummation)

Loving all the analysis- but not caught up yet. I agree,it is not practical and very dangerous for them to be together again right now...especially until the acid test with Ishu back (high drama quotient coming up- but I can't stand her character as a mother/MIL even now. I can forgive her as a woman who did all she could for her young children, but not her selfishness and complete disregard for her adult son's happiness. I don't feel the theft justifies her insecurities and manipulative behaviour at all). It will be interesting to watch Dev and Sona's and Ishu's dynamics now...

...but I am still a bit saddened about the 'never' train of thought that Sona maintains despite herself...and kind of agree with Asha. It would have made sense to me if there was no soul connection at all, but for all 'pragmatic' purposes, they are already living in a very complicated situation. On the other hand, I can't blame Sona...her hurt was so deep, the hesitation is understandable.

So to me, Dev's dream and hope of their own home and fresh start with their own family (including Golu?), however premature it may be, is one of the most sensible, pragmatic and sincere ideas this man/lover/father/husband has ever proposed, given the hostility and nature of his own family members- and I truly hope that this is what happens in the end, redemption or no redemption for Ishwari. This in no way means he abandons his family, but he puts Sona, Soha and their happiness and relationship first. Finally.

And I hope Ishu mata's 'nightmare' just before her Vaisnodevi trip (but Dev's dream) comes true.

Looking forward to seeing events unfold and the continued dissections by so many brilliant writers on this thread!

👏😊

If in the last post I elaborated on the parallels, I am going to talk about the next story line here. What they showed had to be shown if they want to show Sonakshi confessing her love to Dev in June. They still need to show Dev -- Natasha -- Sonakshi track with Dev -- Sonakshi -- Jotin where Dev is Sonakshi, Sonakshi is Dev and Jotin is Natasha. 😆 😆 😆

Yes i feel that sona is going to propose dev. But still i don't see jatin as natasha. If you ask in s1 both were unaware about their felllings or deapth of the feeling so they were not ready. But form yesterday's episode they know what they want and what they feel. So fight is now with ownself and the with the their parentes idealogy that how my child should have a life. So now fight is with their fear to hurt each other and soha and what ishu and bijoy feels. So no need of jatin as natasha from my point of view. You know no i never get agree as jatin as natasha. From my point of view jatin and elena is the future pair. 😊😊

AbAnamika, one of the words that was used sparingly in season 1 is used very often in season 2. The word I am referring to is "perfect/perfection". This idealism is one of the crux of the series.

Although Dev lists out his faults and considers himself as flawed Ishwari doesn't think so. From her perspective he is "perfect" in every way. She feels that the only way she can be his mother and deserve the respect he gives is if she is "perfect". She also knows the mistake she made when she compromised on her ideals. The one that Khatri revealed. She feels that if Dev gets to know the truth that his mother made a mistake then he would stop loving her and also leave her. This is where her insecurity with Sonakshi comes into being. From Ishwari's perspective Sonakshi is "perfect". Also she feels Bose family is perfect. She fears that Dev will leave her and chose the Boses if he comes to know her imperfections. And if he leaves her she has no where else to go and will once again end up on the street.

Sonakshi unknowingly added to her insecurity by always giving and not complaining. She saw her greatest fear come to life in Sonakshi. Hence she did all that she could to make sure Dev did not leave her. Even now she is still living with that fear. A fear that only he can abate by accepting her with her flaws.

I am not saying what Ishwari did was right or in any way justifying her actions. I am just trying to explain her pov.

The reason she blames Sonakshi for all that happened is because of her considering Dev perfect. Dev blames himself for failing as anyone(as brother, as son etc), but Ishwari doesn't think so. She thinks that Dev fulfilled all responsibilities perfectly. She felt that Dev was leaving this path of perfection because of Sonakshi, by lying, by hiding etc. just like maamaji told Sonakshi -- he is Ishwari's moon. He has blemishes but that are not visible to Ishwari.

This is also where Sonakshi and Bijoy come into the picture. They also consider themselves perfect. Even in yesterday's episode during car ride, Sona and Soha said that they were perfect. That is one of the reason why Sonakshi is not ready to accept Dev's confession. She feels what they have now is ideal. In other words "perfect" relationship. She doesn't want to change the status quo.

The way the CVs are narrating the story and how this belief of "perfection" is playing such a major role is amazing. Upcoming episodes will definitely be gripping is what I am thinking. 😃

Let's agree to disagree. After today's episode I am very sure of Sonakshi Jotin marriage track and that mimicking Natasha track. One of the highlights of that track was Sonakshi was aware of what she felt regarding Dev, yet chose to consciously conceal it. Dev on the other hand felt an unknown pull towards Sonakshi, was unaware what this feeling was and ended up blurting them at times to Sonakshi. Like the time he said that he doesn't like it when she is angry with him or when he wanted to know if she was hurt because of the ring etc.

This is exactly what is going to happen now. Dev will keep the promise he made to her. But there will be change in her behavior which neither Bijoy nor Ishwari will like. Bijoy has accepted Sonakshi's decision of co parenting only because of Sonakshi's assurance that she and Dev are not together and they will not get together. This is the last day of their stay at IN and from the next day onwards they are to go back to Bose house. Bijoy will have clear view of Sonakshi. He will insist on Sonakshi Jotin marriage to avoid Sonakshi from even thinking about Dev. Sonakshi too will say yes as that will give her an opportunity to run away from Dev and her feelings. But just like Dev blurting them out without realizing that he is doing so during Natasha track, Sonakshi will end up blurting out the truth at odd times unknowingly similar to how she said "couple" during their coffee date, "maa" for Ishwari etc.

It will truly be "dil ke faisle dimaag se". The more she will run away is when she will better understand herself and reconcile with Dev. 😆

Sab tumhari galti hai, Shaheer ! Tum itne convincingly Dev ko enact kyun karte ho ?? 👏 Very emotional episode . A big round of applause to the actors n the script writers. Some of the dialogues're amazing.
# pachtava karne ke liye bahot saare vajai hai mere pass

# tumhari zyada galti hai ki tum perfect ho , good ho, tum ne ek aise inzan ko chuna voh tume kabhi samch hi nahi paaya

# abhi toh hosh me aaya hu

# tumne muche pyar karna sikhayaa , lekin meine kya kiya..pyar gawana sikhaya

# mere andar bahot dard hai, kabhi kabhi jab me sota hu na, toh aisa lagta hai ki mein kabhi udunga na , fir jab aankh khul jaata hai aur dard bardasht karna padta hai 😭

# mein dhak chuka hu tumhare bina jeete jeete

# kya sab kuch pahle jaisa nahi ho sakta..mein , tum , soha , hamara apna ghar .. sab kuch kitna beautiful hoga..jst perfect !

# kya tum firse muche pyar nahi kar sakti ?

# mein tumse bahot pyar karta hu, tumhare bina jee nahi sakta..

# Please laut aayo mere pass...please b mine

Hosh me ho ya nahi, but dev's confessions in front of sonakshi is actually his realisations . Sonakshi understood that too. But dev is still nt fully aware of sona's feelings though she expressed that in front of his portrait. Now the ball is in sona's court. I too don want sona to place that ball in dev's basket so soon. Let them understand each other well n build that trust factor bet them. Lets c how dev will react wen ishwari points fingers @ " woh ladki ", if in any situations.

Glad that GKB is getting her dues first from dev wen asha maa came & now from sona. It was needed since ages . Vicky will plan something & i wud luv to c him entangled in his own web , struggling to get out . Khatri...ishwari... her insecurities... Story is getting very interesting .

During ritwick track, dev authoritatively said to sona " U r mine " , somewat challenging ritwick during their dinner date. But now he's somewat pleading to sonakshi , " please be mine " . Wat a transition, Mr. Dixit !

Btw, sonakshi ..try to find out wat tablet did mamiji used to dig out truth . Then try the same with mamiji n vicky..or even with matajii... all truths will b out 😆 ( house burning, watch/ money stealing, bose eviction , prenup misuse etc )

Dev n red tee...quite distracting 😛 But nice to c dev trying colours other than grey, blue or black.

You are right Anamika. Sonakshi and I should have said, "not yet"
Dev and Sona need time. They have taken the first step of acknowledging their mistakes. However, they still need to weed out the issues and also work out a solution. There is Soha involved now. Dev also knows that going AWOL is not going to work. The issues surrounding their families still exist.

Moving out is part of the solution. I don't know how Sonakshi feels about that. And like we have seen, with Dev's family it's all.about them controlling his happiness. Yet to he seen how he manages that aspect.

Soha is very close to Sonakshi's side of the family and is making a strong bond with Dev's. The point Sonakshi mentioned in the coffee shop needs dealing with. These two are very extreme. They need to even out and mellow down before thinking of starting life together.

Wow...lets wait and watch. I will say, that I will lose respect for Sonakshi's character if she even 'tries' to 'run' away from her feelings and uses Jatin in the process. That would be unforgivable to me and would signal a lack of growth and maturity in her so called 'strong' character, wrt her personal life. Also, I don't see how such an arrangement prioritizes Soha's security and wishes into account...(remember the phone conversation with Sona and Soha when Dev was hiding out at the farmhouse?)...Not only that, to me, it would not sit well on Jatin's character portrayal so far either...

I could live with her never accepting Dev as her partner again- but while her feelings are so strong, this makes no sense to me, even if she is supposed to have 'imbibed' S1 Dev's traits to some extent, she isn't as clueless; there is now a history. Another third angle marriage track is not something I can relate to at all in this scenario, and will disappoint me- tremendously.

He needs her to show him the complexities, that there are countless colours, that they can leave their relationship unnamed and just enjoy getting to know each other again, that their issues have to be dealt with before her "no" can become a "yes". And Sona at some point will need to take a leaf out of Dev's book, because in the end, it all comes down to taking courage and putting your feelings on the table. Sharing her confusion is the only way around Dev's mental block of "yes" or "no." Now that Dev's feelings are out there, a standing invitation, it's entirely up to Sona whether/when she wants to sieze the day!

Dev's emotions today.. gave me a bunch of feels 😭. This is Dev for me. His vulnerability is why I always felt this huge pull towards his character. When he said today-- this is what happens to people like me-- it broke my heart. Because its so true. The way the story is structured between Sona and Dev, Dev carried this huge risk of self destruction by taking a chance on this love. As he said today, he carries a lot of pain within him.. but that's not just from 7 years ago, its also from his childhood. I think before Sona he was able to manage that pain because he didn't know what he was missing. In order for you to understand happiness, you need to experience sadness... but the reverse is also true. You understand sadness when you experience happiness. Before Sona, he was able to live a colorless life because he hadn't experienced anything else. But the moment he fell in love-- he'd given everything of himself. In turn he was always at risk of losing everything in this relationship which he did. His comment about not wanting to wake up was reflective of that. The problem is, like Dev, I question if Sona ever felt the same way. It doesn't feel like she was ever at the same risk in that relationship.

When Sona first realized she loved Dev-- she held back. She dilly dallied on telling him primarily out of ego. What if he doesn't love her? What if she gets embarrased? What if Natasha is a better choice? She never had to take the chance to risk herself. Dev is the one who took the risk by opening up his emotions to her. He gave her the power to accept or reject him just as he was. But she's never given him the power to reject her because has never allowed herself to be that vulnerable in any relationship.

Sam in your previous comment that DQ linked you said this:

Dev made it very clear during their relationship that he needed Sona in his life, and made no bones about the fact that he was totally dependent on her for certain things -- even after the break-up, Sona is certain in the knowledge that Dev still loves her. While Sona enjoyed the knowledge that she could be there so completely for Dev, there were very few occasions when she allowed herself to show him how much she needed him in return

I feel like we are still seeing this between Dev and Sona. We talked about how Dev and Sona "wanted" an equal relationship. But I don't think they can ever truly be equal without the same level of vulnerability from both characters. If one person needs the other person more, the person who needs more is always more at risk. One of the things Sona said in the farmhouse was that Dev was going to miss her "love" because it was never going to come back in his life. By saying it that way-- she is emphasizing this idea that she is more valuable in his life than he is in hers. And, imo, that was always her crutch in this relationship.

I am going to go off on a tangent here. But in some ways Sona actually fits the bill for white knight syndrome. White knights are men and women who enter into romantic relationships with damaged and vulnerable partners, hoping that love will transform their partner's behavior or life. Though most white knights feel that they are selfless and sacrificing, their rescuing behavior is misguided and often times they just end up feeling resentful. The problem is you can't 'expect' someone to change to be in a relationship with them. If you can't love them as they are its not going to work.

At some point, Sona needs to allow Dev to see that Sona needs him just as much as he needs her. Dev has to feel like an equally valuable member of their relationship. The basis of this relationship can't be that Sona is the "perfect" one helping the damaged soul Dev.
