Yes...without giving away to spoilers, I cant discuss a thing...so holding it for now.😆
@maharathikarna: Not sure if I said this to one of your posts but sometime ago, I had replied saying why I was disappointed with Ish and Dev. No growth at all. People grow from mistakes once the saturation limit is reached. They learn. After 7 yrs of separation where Dev and Ish literally lost everything, we got to see both blaming Sonakshi. I was seriously angry with such characters and cant even root for them as the leads.
The amma jagratha was for a reason. But yes its a beautiful irony. But did you see amma jagratha at the cost of wifey disrespect? I can write essays now on this...I'm just so smitten with the characters😆😆

I had never wanted Dev to be perfect. I had wanted him to show that he too epitomises his beliefs and progressive thoughts via actions, learning from mistakes and growing as a character. But till today, I dont even see him realising that he is suffering from emotional abuse. Actually I feel what Dev was in the first 100 episodes, he will never be the same again. Its just something here and there for us as lollipop...😆

Very sorry to hear about your loss, Pramila. Yes, a loving and understanding mother-in-law is worth her weight in gold. By the way, your community sounds very progressive. Are you from the North-East if you don't mind me asking? I have heard they are a matriarchal society.

I am thankful to God.. I am born in such community..where girls are successor. I mean girl has first right on property and she is the one to carry forward family legacy. Also in my caste/community I have hardly or you can say not heard DIL going through all these. Also after reading so many people experience I feel I am blessed to have my MIL. It's been 2 years now she passed away. I miss her so much. I am travelling this weekend, it's a nostalgic feeling. She used keep gates open and sit infront of house till we arrive. She used to keep ready all my favourite food and she used to keep water boiled(wood fire)..oh god..now I should do all myself. She was so protective of me, none of my jetani's dare to say something to me. I miss her badly...sigh..

This is I wrote in another post made by a member. Excellent post. But it contains spoilers. So if you haven't watched the movie, don't read it. However, if you have watched the movie, give it a read. He/she made excellent point.

My reply doesn't contain spoilers.

I had been trying to point out the difference between a Mamma's boy and a man who loves his mother since the first break up happened.

But I wasn't being able to provide visual comparison.

This movie is one of the best example of the same.

Loving one's mother doesn't mean that even when she is wrong, you support her in her wrong deeds. When a child does something wrong, a good mother is someone who goes against him and scolds him. Not the one who supports him in his wrong deeds.

Then how can a good son be someone who supports his mother's wrong deeds?

Amarendra Bahubali is a devoted son. I'd say that he is an ideal son. He would never allow a woman's dishonour even if that was his mother doing it. Even if he was not in love with the woman being wronged, I have no doubt that he would still stand up for her.

Not because he doesn't love his mother, but because due to the excellent upbringing he was provided by her that he can't let any woman get disrespected and let his mother do anything wrong.

That's a man who loves his mother and respects her. He is a shining example of an outstanding man. A man worthy of being a woman's life partner.

A Mamma's boy can't be anything but a weak willed puppet of his mother because he can't exercise his own brain and follows his mother's command blindly.

Thanks Rajamouli for making this excellent piece of work and showing women what kind of men make the best kind of life partner.

Oh, you are Mangalorean. I don't know anyone personally from Mangalore. But I know that Anushka Shetty is also Mangalorean. Along with Shilpa Shetty and Dipika Padukone. All amazing women.

If you are a student of history you will realize nair and bunt community had a common origin. It has similar customs including matriarchial societies, naga worship and common script. Lost script of tulu is very similar to malayalam. Not many people know this. Tulu nadu is known in malayalam literature of old.

Yes, most of the north-east is matriarchal society. However, I prefer a more equilateral society where men and women are equally valued, given opportunities and held responsible on the same scale and same standard.

However, unlike patriarchal society, matriarchal society is more kind to the opposite sex and also they have less oppression.

Bang on !!!
Yes that's the point !!!

He can't take insult to any woman !!! Or disrespecting any woman!!!
You marry a girl to protect her honors and her respect . And yes he does that ... but he never disobeys his mother too ... she put the values in him... but when she wrongs he is assertive with his values.

That particular scene will give goosebumps in theatre actually Tia !!!

Mammas boy is not wrong ... the quality of you, your individuality and your values should matter . No self made man will give up on these qualities ... Dev is an emotional fool . See had Sona blackmailied him in the same way as Ishwari with pills or leaving the house or any means ... you know ... Dev and his house would have still not understood her and blamed her ... with some harsh ness

Amarendra bahubali was taught by his mother to stand up for what is right even against god. He respectfully followed his mothers teachings all the time😊. I wish dev also does it.

I have been wishing this for sooo long .

He only speaks his mother's teachings...those speeches never convert to actual actions. Still, I'm hoping...giving you company.😃
