prologue
"You need to leave now, sir!"
Dev looked at his secretary who already reminded him to leave 3 times since past one hour. This time, she was standing with a wall clock in her hands to show him he really needed to leave!
"God it's seven already!" Dev realized he was terribly late.
"Yes sir, that's what I'm trying to say!" Tina's voice was laced with mockery.
Dev glared at her.
"Actually sir, I had your stylist drop your clothes here. You can get ready here maybe!"
"Good, send them in." Dev said and reminded himself that this efficiency of Tina is what's saving her from being fired.
Tina happily walked towards the door and just before leaving, she turned and said "congratulations on your engagement sir! We're all very happy for you!"
Minutes later as Dev finished getting ready for his own engagement, he realized that he was nervous. A feeling that was alien to him. He walked up to his desk and opened a drawer. A single photo lay in that drawer, that his mother sent him weeks ago.
