Asha wants Dev and Sonakshi to understand their mistakes that lead to the failure of their marriage.
You might wonder what is the use of them realizing their mistakes...I would stand by Asha...because Soha needs both parents...as husband and wife we will have diff of opinion while raising a child...now imagine these two ppl who are separated bringing up their child...this is just the beginning ...and there is a long way to parenting Soha...With relatives like Ishwari /GKB/Vicky/Bijoy ...Sonakshi and Dev's life could end up even worse in future...so its best that they realize the mistakes and their own flaws that lead to the break up...so that they don't repeat them in future to avoid Soha getting hurt...

If they have to be parents to Soha then the trust and acceptance should come ...they should clear their misunderstandings...or else again they will allow someone else to decide for them and they will loose Soha.

And she never asked her daughter to reconcile...all she did was gave an insight to her experience as woman...and told her that DEV IS HERE FOR HIS DAUGHTER...her stressing on this statement in itself says that she wants Sonakshi to understand that DEV IS NOT HERE FOR SONAKHI...and that she should concentrate on being a mom first and do what is best for her daughter...

I believe Asha was practical. She felt Sonakshi was falling again and hence just got her out of her trance with that statement..

Every marriage has pitfalls, and every marriage requires compromises and letting go of one's ego. I loved how Asha explained to Sona that being a great father and being a great husband are two very different things and yes even though she is happy now doesn't mean her marriage was always a happy one. It isn't difficult to see, I feel bad for Asha all the time. Her husband is always always trying to impose on what everyone should do, gets angry so quickly, is nosy and is always insulting Sourabh...he really doesn't see his two kids as equals. Anyways, I loved Asha and I do hope that Sona understands that marriages aren't perfect unless lot of work is put into it.

She is the typical Mother who looks for convenience over difficulties/struggle. Fortunately she has raised her kids in a way that they dont need dependency on others to remain happy. Both Sona and Saurabh were shown as perfectly happy and healthy kids in S1. However, her words deflect something else. I call that hypocrisy, however, it's women like her that even today daughters are taught to adjust forever without ANY adjustment from the other party at their in-laws.

It takes a major blow like beaten black and blue or becoming depression patients for them to have the WAKE-UP call, till then they keep advising the daughters to accommodate and adjust. 👎🏼

Asha is typical Indian middle aged mother... Doesn't want her daughter to b alone and granddaughter should get both mom and dads love, affection...

I am not supporting Asha but she has been the one who has remained relatively calm with everything that has happened.

Asha tells Sona about Bijoy being short tempered right from the beginning of their married life and that she put up with it stoically. But what she didn't say was that she had a gem of a mother in law to help her cope up with a bad tempered husband. For Sona it was putting up with a unsupportive husband as wall as a highly suspicious and an insecure mother in law. This is Asha 's hypocrisy
