"Dev, I can't believe it. Tell me this isn't a dream. Sonakshi said jumping out of the bed in joy Dev literally had to pull her back into the bed saying that this isn't good for her and the baby.
"How far am I Dev?"She asked out of curiosity
"One and a half months my love" He replied engulfing her in a side hug
The next One and a half months were really tough for both Dev and sona. Sona was on a break from her personal clinic and was tired with her morning sickness and nausea and here Dev was working till late night so that he could take break from his office works when their baby would be born.
It was another day when dev had returned late night from the office and was woken up from his sleep hearing her wife throwing up. He switched on the table lamp and glanced at the clock, It was 4'o clock.
He rubbed his eyes and went into the kitchen with his sleep laden tired eyes.
He came back with a glass of lemon water only to find his wife sitting on her side of the bed.
"Here,take this you will feel better" he said offering her the glass
She thanked him and took the glass from his hand.
"Aap mere liye kitna kuch karte ho Dev aur mai kitni buri Hun meri wajah se aapki neend disturb hui" she said feeling guilty
"Aisa kuch bhi nahi hai baby and tumhara khayal rakhna to mera farz banta hai. Chalo ab jaldi se Ise pee lo aur so jao" He said and after making sure she drank the whole thing he made her lie down and himself went back to sleep.
"Sonakshi beta jaldi neeche aaja,dekh aaj tere liye Maine khaas kachauri banai hai" She heard Ma calling her for breakfast.
She came downstairs excited but as soon as she smelled the food, she found it difficult to take even one morsel inside her mouth.
"I am sorry Ma, mai ye nahi kha paungi mujhe iski smell se hi ulti jaisa feel ho raha hai" She said apologetically
"Koi baat nahi beta mai to bhool hi gai thi ki Is haalat me masaaledar cheeze khane ka man nahi hota, tu ruk mai tere liye santare ka ras banakar laati Hun" Ishwari said lovingly
That night Dev woke up to someone's constant nudging. It was none other than his beautiful wife whose face was radiating with a beautiful glow in the moonlight
"Dev utho Na please, Dekho Na baby ko choco lava cake khaane ka man kar raha hai" she said with a cute pout caressing her tummy. The nutritionist in her knew that it's not good to eat something with so many calories but she also knew that now she was not alone and she had to eat for two.
He switched on the light to see the time "sonakshi is waqt raat ke 2:30 baje hai is waqt to saare shops band ho gaye honge, mai kal subah tumhare liye choco lava cake le aunga" He said and pulled the comforter over himself and went back to sleep again.
She removed the comforter and threw it on the floor "Nahi Nahi mujhe abhi khaana hai. Aap mere aur baby ke liye itna nahi kar sakte?" She said in a sad tone
"Okay,okay mai jaake dhekta Hun ki kaun si shop khuli hai"He said in a defeated tone
"Nahi,Mujhe bhi aapke Saath chalna hai. Kitne din ho gaye hum long drive par nahi gaye aap do minute rukiye mai taiyaar hokar aati Hun."
She came outside wearing a long pink anarkali suit which hugged her body enhancing her curves.
"Damn she will be the death of me one day" thought dev as she approached him
They both sat inside the car and after driving for good one and a half hour Dev luckily found a bakery which was open at this odd hour.
He got down and ordered sonakshi to stay inside the car. He bought two choco lava cakes and lifted Sonakshi in his arms and made her sit on the bonnet and gave her the cake.
She savoured the cake like she was hungry all day long and her moans were making it difficult for Dev to concentrate on his share of cake. He wanted to kiss those lips covered with chocolate so badly.
He was looking at her with desire filled eyes,she looked up and saw the passion in his eyes. Understanding his needs she thought to have some fun she continued eating and when she was finished with the task, she licked her lips seductively.
This was enough for Dev to loose his control,he pulled Sonakshi towards him and captured her lips in a passionate kiss. After some time they broke apart due to the need of oxygen
"I must admit the chocolate tasted sweeter when I ate it from your lips" He said in a husky voice and she blushed a deep shade of red
She quickly ran inside the car and he chuckled at her shyness.
The car halted in front Ishwari niwaas "chalo sona let's get down we are back."He said unbuckling his seat belt. On getting no response from her, he looked up and found his wife asleep with a beautiful smile adorning her face.
He didn't had the heart to wake up his sleeping beauty so he lifted her in his arms and carried her to their bed. He lay her on the bed and covered her with the comforter and kissed her forehead and went to sleep.
With the beginning of her second trimester she could see a slight bulge in her stomach. She was ecstatic and would often talk to her baby.
One day both Dev and Sonakshi were sitting in their room and Dev was talking to their baby
" Baby aapko pata hai aapke aane se humari life me kitni happiness aai hai. Your momma and daddy loves you a lot." Saying so he kissed her little baby bump and started to leave for office
"Dev" she called out to him.
He could sense the fear in her voice, he became concerned and quickly went and sit beside her. He held her hands in his and said "What happened Sonakshi?Why are you sounding so tensed?"
"Dev it's my second trimester and I have read that the chances of miscarriage is the highest during this trimester. Itni mushkil ke baad humari life me khushiya aai hai mai Ise khona nahi chahti dev,mai bardasht nahi kar paungi. She said crying her heart out letting her fear evident in front her better half
Don't cry sona, it's not good for you and our baby. Stay positive and everything will be positive. Nothing will happen to our baby. He or she is safe and sound and will be playing in our arms very soon. Samajh gai Na tum? He said trying to make her cope up with her fear
"You are right Dev. Mai kuch zyada hi soch rahi thi." She said understanding his point and kissed him goodbye with a wide smile playing on her lips
It was week 18 and Sonakshi was applying lotion on her body at night and Dev was working on his laptop.
Suddenly she exclaimed "Dev come fast"
Dev got tensed and came towards her in a jiffy " kya hua Sonakshi tum chilai kyu?" He asked worriedly
She said nothing just took her hand and put his palm oh her tummy.
Dev could feel light kicks. He looked into Sonakshi's eyes for confirmation and she just nodded her head with tears flowing from her eyes.
Dev too started crying in happiness and hugged her lovingly for giving him this precious gift.
It was their first appointment for ultrasound. The doctor applied the cold gel on Sonakshi's belly and then moved the transducer around it, the monitor showed a picture of a tiny baby.
Dev and sona had tears in their eyes seeing their baby for the first time and were excitingly listening to the doctor when she was explaining them the body parts of their baby.
They decided to keep the gender of the baby as a surprise.
It was the first week of her third trimester and Dev entered their room only to find a huge pile of clothes on the bed
"Yeh kamre ka kya haal bana rakha hai Sonakshi?Tum to aisi nahi thi tumhe to saaf safai Se itna pyaar tha. Tum itni badal kaise gai?" He Joked but he didn't have any Idea about how furious his wife was today
"Han Han ab to mai aapko badli badli lagungi hi. Mai moti Jo ho gai hun. Ab mai aapki wo attractive Sonakshi nahi rahi Na,my curves are lost.You don't love me anymore."
"Mere saare kapde bhi chhote ho gaye hai, kuch fit nahi araha." She said crying.
These days her pregnancy hormones were making her mood swings more and more dangerous. sometimes she will be laughing without any proper reason and sometimes gets emotional on small things
He hugged her from back and said "aisa kuch nahi hai jaan,you are not fat. It's just that our baby is growing inside you. And don't worry about the clothes,we will buy maternity clothes for you,ok?"
"And who said that I don't love you?Ab to mai tumse double pyaar karta Hun kyuki tum ab sirf meri wife nahi balki mere hone wale bacche ki Ma bhi ho."
"Sacchi??" She said with a pout
"Mucchi" He replied back with a kiss on her cheek
It was midway of her last trimester and the doctor had advised her to have a walk at night after dinner.
It was their daily routine. After dinner Dev would take her for a walk every night.
"Dev I am feeling so wobbly. Mujhe to mere pair bhi nahi dikh rahe." She said trying to have a glance at her feet but no avail
"Don't worry sona, mai Hun Na tumhare Saath" He said holding her hand with his one hand and Shoulder with the other and took her out for her routine walk
She smiled and thanked almighty for blessing her with such a loving and caring husband
One day Sonakshi was sitting on the bed reading a book. Dev was in office and She was fed up of the fact that she has to be on bed rest 24*7 because her pregnancy was not a normal one.
She was frustrated to the point that she couldn't wait anymore for the arrival of their baby.
Suddenly she felt her water breaking and an intense pain radiating through her stomach and lower back.
She understood that the time has arrived.
She screamed in pain and the whole family came rushing to her room.
Mamaaji called the ambulance while Ishwari was running her hands on Sonakshi's forehead saying everything will be fine trying to divert her attention from the pain.
Nicky called her brother and Informed him about the happenings.
Dev quickly informed his in laws and rushed like a mad man towards the hospital.
He reached the hospital and found both the families there.
"Ma Sonakshi kaha hai? Wo theek to hai na?Use kuch hua to nahi Na?" He asked in one breath
"Shaant hojaiye Dev Babu.Sonakshi bilkul theek hai,labour pain me hai. Doctor ne bola hai ki bas kuch hi ghanto me she will deliver your baby." Asha spoke trying to pacify a hyper Dev.
"Kya mai andar ja sakta Hun?" He asked.
"Han bilkul Dev. Dactar sahiba to puch hi rahi thi ki Sonakshi ka pati kaha hai." Ishwari announced happily
Dev entered the room only to find his Sonakshi writhing in pain. He was feeling guilty that because of him she was going through so much pain.
He came forward and held her hands to provide her the support, the strength she was looking for. He looked towards her with a smile on his face that he will be always there for her whenever she will be in any kind of pain.
She understood him and in return gave him an thankful smile.
After a good 5 hours of going through immense pain she delivered their baby girl into the world.
Her first cry was like music to their ears. The doctor sent the baby for cleaning up.
She was brought back wrapped in a pink blanket.
Dev took her in his eager arms and said" Look Sonakshi you Did it. She is here,healthy and gorgeous.
Sonakshi smiled through her tears and took her daughter in her arms and kissed her forehead.
"Dev,I am sorry. In 9 months me Maine aapko bahut takleef diya Na?.Thank you for everything you did for me."She said feeling guilty
"Sonakshi kyu bacchon jaisi baatein kar rahi ho. Wo to mera farz tha and that pain is nothing in front which a mother has to endure during childbirth. Thanks to mujhe tumhe kehna chahiye itni beautiful daughter mujhe dene ke liye."
Soon both the families swarmed in and started fussing over the newest addition to their family.
"Ahem Ahem,I have an announcement to make" Dev said gaining everyone's attention
He took the baby in his arms and said "Everyone meet Suhana Sonakshi Dixit."
Everyone was happy with the beautiful name and blessed the new parents and went outside to give the three of them some lone time.
"So Mrs dixit do you like the name?"
"I love it Dev and I guess Suhana also likes it." Sonakshi said pointing at Suhana who was trying to hold her father's nose with her tiny hands
"Sonakshi her nose is just like you and eyes like mine" He said happily and kissed sonakshi's forehead
