Yet another episode which had a lot of potential to leave us all confused😆Already such amazing and complete analyses have been done, there is very little to say..
but since, I have been too eager to share what I feel, please bear with my long rant and Ignore if it is repetitive😳
The first thing that came to my mind when I saw them fighting yet again was "How childish are you guys?😆" and not "How much do you hate each other"
Apparently, Dev and Sonakshi hate each other.. but do you
- Stay with someone until they feel better in a dangerous place, rather than running away, specially when you know the way out?
- Do you joke around with someone you hate?
- Do you get affected by their proximity so much that you forget that you talking about 'hating' each other a moment back?😆
- Do you help someone by arranging random sticks and leaves to relieve their pain?
I guess all the answers are clearly no. Dev and Sonakshi, till date, undoubtedly have extreme feelings for each other. Since they can't term it as love now.. they are misinterpreting all the angst as 'hate'The episode begins with Dev teasing Sonakshi, asking her to clearly request for help😆 Is it because he wanted his ego to be satisfied? Obviously, Yes😆 But I think it was ice-breaking moment for both Dev and Sonakshi. In Phase 1 of their relationship, Sonakshi was never vocal about taking his help. Yes, Dev could not stand by Sonakshi many times but Sonakshi's silence to bear it all also played a major role in it.
Dev was emotionally weak, he took things at face value and until he saw Sonakshi being taunted himself or could visibly see her perturbed, he could not come ahead to help her. But whenever that happened, he made sure he was with her (Eg: The mooh-dikhayi rasm where Dev supports her infront of all and the negative example is the jhula, Dev in the end thought Sonakshi was okay with it being removed)
So, from Sonakshi's perspective..Dev did not have the guts to face his mom and did not stand by her when needed while from Dev's perspective, Sonakshi never let him know about anything. Never gave him the chance to mend things and just left.
From a third perspective, we could all see Sona suffering and were agitated that Dev could not see. Unfortunately, this is not how it always works, you cannot always notice the things which are right infront of you.
I am glad they talked about haq. If Dev did not give her the haq of a wife in his house, Sonakshi also never claimed it.
Dev could remember those moments when he had impulsively blamed Sonakshi for everything.
Coming back to the scene, Dev made sure she did what was exactly opposite of Sona's instincts i.e Ask for help😆And Sonakshi finally did it.
So, Today Dev understood Sonakshi needed help and made sure she learnt to express it. His taunt was bang on for it,"Tum to perfect ho na, batao na kaisa lag raha hai? "😆
To which Sonakshi says, Dikh nahi raha hai?
His reply, "Haan mujhe to samaj aa raha hai, par tum jaise strong, independent feminist ladkia chahti hai jab wo bole to sab sune to tum help mang sakti ho hai na?"😆 Sonakshi would have killed Dev with her deathly glares I tell ya!😆
I am enjoying how the past reflects even in their bickering.
They are so comfortable with each other even now😳 The way Dev flexed his muscles and arms before picking her up and the way Sonakshi went in his arms so stiffly and like a stick, I was laughing.😆
Fighting non-stop even then.
Erica looked so petite and easy going today. Totally killing the stern look. Also notice how she was standing with her foot at weird angles as if she was really injured. Detailing👏
Dev comes up with a brilliant idea to relieve her pain. Suggests liquor to help bear it.
What is noteworthy here is that, unlike the past where they simply refused to be affected, they both openly admitted how their life has been bitter for the past seven years.
The fire was very symbolic.
When they both are at a little ease with each other after he helps her,
Dev says " Lakdia bhi geeli hai, aag bhi nahi pakad rahi hai"
He tries to have that same bitterness for her, he is failing.
"Tum bekar koshish kar rahe ho"
Because ever since Soha has come into the picture, Sonakshi is trying hard to be at ease with Dev's presence. She wants to be in normal terms with him, sans the bitterness for Soha's sake.
Dev points out about the bheega hua rishta, Sona says "Is sab ki kya zarurat hai?"
Sonakshi wants their relationship to be neutral so that it is easy for her to accept that Dev will be a part of Suhana's life. Dev's bitterness makes things difficult for her. Again, Dev's reply about its necessity shows how he thrives on this bitterness in his heart, or shall I say angst, to stay away from her?
Sonakshi cracks a joke😆😆 Dev is irritated as in no way he sees the situation as a subject of humor. Sonakshi can clearly see Dev's changed attitude is a facade to show he is unaffected.
"Tum sab chiz ko mazak bana lete ho"
Bewildered that Sonakshi is able to see through his facade so casually, he responds with "I hate you"
When she replies with the same intensity, he says
"Rishte toot jane se ehsaas khatm nahi ho jate"
Now he wants to remind her that no matter how hard she tries, if his indifference is a mask..so is hers. She can't run away from the feelings she had, they had.
Sonakshi says," Hote honge, mai buri yaado k sath rehna seekh lia hai"
And that is the exact moment when the best memories (how Ironic na! They are talking about buri yaadein and they remember beautiful times when they are close) flash before their eyes, triggering uncontrolled feelings catalysed by their proximity.
Not only Dev but even Sona has this weak moment. When Dev holds her arm, Sonakshi lets him do that.
Had she not broken the trance, they would have definitely come close enough to not hold themselves back. Dev was out of it much later, as clear by the way he responds by saying 'Sonakshi' softly.
Again, Fire is symbolic.
Sona says "Barish ruk gayi hai aur aag bhi bbhuj gayi hai"
When they are together like this, it just magically makes them forget all the bitterness that has built up over the past 7 years.
But it is just forgotten, not removed!
Until and unless, their angst keeps coming up and brewing like this... it would keep hindering their closeness like it did today. It has to be completely removed for them to be back together.
I am sure we will witness a beautiful journey for it!❤️
Ishwari calls & just at the same time, The fire ignites again!
Did you also notice how Sona felt a little sad when he said he loves Soha like he did no one else? Not because she feels sad that Dev is away from his daughter, but because she feels the vacuum, that Dev once said this for her, that he never loved anyone more than her.
Even when he talked about haq, how Sonakshi wished she had the same rights over his love..that he gave her the same rights.
When Dev said, Apno ko haq dete hai...she was visibly hurt.
His biggest complaint is only that she left him, nothing else.
"Mai tumhari apni kabhi thi hi nahi"
Dev had no answer and he cuts off the topic.
Their mask of bitterness is royally put back! Dev can no more stay there with her!
He offers help but she refuses! Back to square one haan?
What is one thing worth noticing is that, even though Sonakshi refuses to take his support to walk, it was indirectly Dev's help (the stick) which helped her move ahead without any support.
And they focus on the fire, of ego and bitterness..which has reignited.
