Yes, both have suffered. And I have neither done it from Sona's POV nor from Dev's POV. This analysis was just what I saw in today's dialogue.

Do write often, you have actually explained their dialogues and its meanings very aptly. Brilliant.

Thank you 😊
I would love to, but due to exams I am not able to do so. Will do it often once over with exams.

The first point is - The more I think about it, the more I am convinced it's not Love what Dev has for Sona. Love doesn't allow someone to see the other person go through a pain physically or emotionally. Hence, yeah I dont understand this type of fatal love which lacks basic humanity. And I hope no one has to go through this kind of situation in real life where one has to 'beg' for help before getting any. In reality there are worse people who dont come forward to help even after seeing an assaulted naked woman at empty street. So yeah I shouldnt wonder and instead keep faith in humanity.

Rest points, nice unbiased view :)

I do agree with you and I never said that seeing someone going through pain and not helping that person is an allowance of love. Rather it's the opposite, feeling the pain even when the other is hurt.

It was the explanation of the scenario, that made Dev realize that how much Independent Sona has became after their separation.

She can't be independent always ppl need someone else to support them. Dev is non separable part of her that's what he needed to justify her.

Hatred is not another form of love. Hatred is a different emotion.
Yes, Dev cares for Sona, but his statement contradict his own words at times.
Dev knows now that he is lost his role of support in Sona's life and that's one of those things that's hurting him.

Sargesh I know what you mean, but I simply cannot appreciate this thought. Nobody in the world is independent in its true sense since we are social animals. However, taking care of oneself, taking right decisions, supporting family financially and emotionally etc - these are some traits which we consider as an independent individual to have. And what's wrong in that? Being in love doesnt take away the independence in somebody. Dependency isn't love. Hatred is another form of love, but again, the key emotion is 'love' here right ? And nobody in the world enjoys the 'pain' of the loved ones. Trust me that is true. And if still Dev wants to pass it on as love, then I must say I prefer to be in Ishwari or his family member's place where I know one would do anything not to hurt me, rather than being the 'love' of that guy who behaves like a sadist.

P.S - I am an independent woman and my husband is proud of that. It takes only a man to handle a strong and independent woman. Otherwise they are not man enough

Yes actually I meant to write - all points are unbiased since you have just analysed the scene and not written what you feel about it 😊 . Very nice writeups 😛

good analysis. they both need to vent their thoughts to each other in order to heal from this deep gash

I liked this analysis. I feel like both still love each other deep down.
Dev's 'I HATE you' was an 'I HATE you' because 'I (still) LOVE YOU' and I can't accept that you left me !!

The 'hatred' is the disappointment in each other for behaviours they each felt was the straw that broke the camel's back in their relationship. The hatred exists only because the love is/was so intense. The opposite of love is not hate. The opposite of love is indifference. Heartfelt love (romantic/emotional) cannot be justified by logic (rational mind). (Kya hota hai jab dillon ke faisle, dimaag se liye jaate hain)?

Successful relationships are founded on mutual love, respect, communication and trust.

I don't feel Dev was upset about Sona's independence or strength. He loved and admired that about her always. But there are situations where this characteristic trait is not a boon, but a bane- as it was for Devakshi's marriage. Dev, I felt was referring to Sona's independence, bordering on arrogance; on her stubborn insistence to handle situations that were best handled as a 'team', alone instead, without ever confiding/trusting in Dev, her lover and husband who always wanted to be there for her and help her (the number of calls post slap incident from Dev that Sona rejected, while Dev desperately wanted to make amends and looked to Sona for guidance. Instead, she shut down communication completely and impulsively mortgaged the Bose house, without once confiding in her husband, who after all had quietly supported the Bose family like his own- even though all his magnanimous gestures backfired because of his venomous Dixit family). In the same manner, now they were stuck in the forest and she was hurt, because Sona again did not trust him to go the right way, and chose to walk her own path again alone- and got hurt in the process.

Dev felt that Sona leaving was abandonment- absolute betrayal. He is still dealing with that pain with added anger about being kept away from Soha (although he knows his mother was at fault). (Interestingly, he wanted to go on 'Mission Release Snake into Forest' alone and not with Sona...full circle?)

Dev's gripe: Sona didn't trust him and didn't communicate with him on account of her 'strength/ego'; she abandoned him
Sona's gripe: Dev didn't take a strong enough stand against Ishwari/Dixits as a weak, mama's boy, to protect her respect (plus a lot of misunderstandings); he abandoned her/kicked her out.

But if we watch the episodes carefully, Dev, when faced with the true nature of his mother, on the revelation of the prenup Ishwari tricked him into signing, actually did choose Sona over his mother...that was a very big deal, although he was intoxicated. But Sona misunderstood him again and rejected him (and I don't blame her) because by then, the snakes in Dixit niwas had injected a lot of poison between them.

Love is in tact under layers of hurt and disappointment. Trust in each other as Soha's parents only has started to build. Trust in each other as 'lovers' may only be rebuilt once all the bitterness due to misunderstandings dissipates, if at all. I really really hope so.

Open, if abstract communication has finally started and will continue for Soha's sake at least. Hopefully, this communication will help them navigate the rocky road and stormy weather ahead to catch the venomous 'snake(s)' in their lives and throw them out far away from them.
