Empathy but no sympathy for Ish

Hate to say it, while I don't agree with Ish I am almost beginning to understand her flawed reasoning in life. It's "just me and my son and now someone to make my son complete". But for a woman who has 3 daughters and is a woman herself she sure lacked empathy for Sona (which is also common sadly in India). Also even though at parts I sympathised with Ish how she felt left out that Boses knew everything but her son didn't tell her anything, I loose the sympathy when I see the games she plays with Dev and then acts self righteous. Huge difference between her and Sona as a mother. Sona tells her daughter the truth to make her strong and protect her, but Ish lies to Dev to protect him and try to help him. Also why the obsession with poti/pota. Why not be keen on becoming a nani. Woh bacche inferior honge kya? Ghar main Gollu bhi toh hai agar bacche itne zharoori hai apne ghar main ho. Ja kar kisi ko adopt kar lo if you want kids. Also this "dev ka toota sapna poora hua" Dev didn't give a shit agar bacche na hote, otherwise he wouldn't have married Sona.

And Dev's POV is understandable. Yes Sona was correct when she said instead of making a bridge between saas and DIL he just went in a boat from one side to another, but he is also stuck in the circumstances caused by manipulations in his life. But then again, he is a stalker who harassed Sona when he dumped her spontaneously and now a guy who even breaks and enters someone's house. Assuming Soha was not his daughter (which he didn't know she was) it would be so creepy he jumped into a 6 year old girls house to find out about her. Also how is he allowed to sit at school with a little bachi. Kaisa school hai, stranger danger.

But this is what makes the show so great. They have captured human personalities and flaws so well. Everyone believes they are correct in their own way and their personalities and circumstances dictate that. Well done to the show creators. Specially for showing a strong independent girl like Sona with supportive modern family like Boses.
