Sona was always someone who guarded her heart steadfastly. She lost her absolute control over her emotions a very few times and unlike Dev, doesn't wear her heart on her sleeves. But once she gave her heart to Dev it was absolutely his. Her inner turmoils are visible only to those who know her inside out. But the post leap Sona can pull a blinder even over them unless she loses her control. Dev getting hurt or losing absolute control of himself have always pushed her over the edge and she will, if it happens again.
Sona who believed that a person doesn't need anything other than love, if you are in love with each other have learned it the hard way that love is not always enough. Because, love was never their problem. After their first break up despite making her father unhappy she married Dev, blindly depending on their love. She never doubted that Dev loved her as much as or even more than her.
On the day they broke apart, when she misunderstood Ishwari's words and believed that Dev will not fight for them, their love- with his mother, after he asked her to get out, Ishwari and Dev became a single entity for her. She lost her hope that his love for her will ever be able to stand up to his mother and would in turn allow whatever his mother dictates. After they were thrown out of their home, when she met Dev, he said that he have decided to be with her since his mother asked him to decide. By that time for her it was like a game the mother and son plays with her. His mother wants her out, he will throw her out but because he can't live without her his mother will relent and he will ask her to come back. She regretted falling in love since it was her love that brought her family to the streets. And from that day she is living in that guilt, that she brought her family down to the streets for her love.
She would have constantly felt guilty for still loving Dev, but hating herself for her weakness and agreed with her father that loving Dev was a mistake. But if she really believed that she wouldn't have waited for him to come nor would she have delivered the symbol of their love. Once Soha came into the picture Sona found her purpose in life. Soha became her shield because she was able to love a part of Dev without feeling guilty. Informing Dev about Suha would have been unthinkable for her since Dev was Ishwari for her.
I don't know why she came back to Delhi. But since 7 years is a long time for anyone to move on she might have expected to see him with a family of his own. Since his mother wouldn't have any problems with a girl she chooses and if his wife can give him kids that he had always wanted, and is happy and content with his family, she might have wanted to not feel guilty of her deception anymore.
But the Dev who met her in Delhi was someone she never expected. Both of them were perplexed at each other, and were trying to find the one they have in their hearts, in each other but kept the faade of indifference that was their shield these 7 years which helped them to cope up with their bleeding hearts. Both tried their best not to show how much power the other one still has over them because even after all these time they were still reeling from the pain they inflicted on each other.
She refused to leave his office on the pretense of "Farak nahi padtha" but what she wanted was to know what was going on with him. When Dev came to save her and when she in turn saved him both lost their mask for some time and saw that both of them were standing at the same place, where they parted ways 7 years back. But the moment Ishwari came and thanked her she slipped her mask back on because she didn't want to lose anymore. She lost Dev once and she couldn't afford to lose that part of Dev that was only her's which Ishwari doesn't even have an idea about. She will not reveal the depth of her emotions or remove that mask unless and until she sees Soha affected. Soha will be torn between the love she feels for her father and her mother who was the only parent she had known and whom she idolizes. Even then unless she sees Dev broken or hurt she wouldn't show how much he is still a part of her. Until that time every time her mask slips she will ruthlessly wears it back because she fears the love that they still cherish and is kept hidden in their hearts which have the power to crush them once again. And if it happens there are no more second chances. That will be the end game
