No custody battles please!

Hi all, Tia here. 😊

I am having an uneasy feeling that the story is moving towards a custody battle. I don't want to watch any such thing.

It is natural that Dev would feel betrayed by Sonakshi if he comes to know from other sources than Sona that he has a daughter after 6 years of her birth. Sona is clearly insecure and I wish Sona to fight her insecurities related to her daughter and prove that she is not like Ishwari.

And before Dev feels angry, I want him to introspect a little about Sona's POV also.

I mean, how did the girl manage to go through such a difficult pregnancy (hostile uterus) all by herself and successfully manage to complete it to the term?! Such a big testimony of Sona's inner strength. (I said all by herself, because she may have been with her family and friends. But a partner's love and support is different.)

Most importantly, she decided to give birth to the baby and not abort it; even if that meant she had to face the symbol of her failed love story everyday for the rest of her life.

Sona has practically held on to the last straw of Devakshi's love to her heart. Like she once said to Dev "Bachpan mein sardiyon mein jab dhoop nikalti thi to mai sochti thi ki kaash mai thoda chupa rakhun, rainy day k liye, taki baad mein dekh k khush ho jaaun."

If Dev really loved Sona once, or still loves her as some us claim, is this much empathy from his side too much to ask for? Custody battle would make this beautiful story very ugly.

Totally agree. No custody battle at all. Court room scenes are a plenty in all serials and they are all damn shitty. OTT melodrama at its worst and highly illogical and crude. Please cvs do not bring in a court room scene at all . The very thought of it is making me horrified.

@dreamy.tiara : A very thought provoking post. This was discussed threadbare in the weekly thread with quite a no. not favouring custody battle. Primarily for Suhana. 😃 But the mannerisms of Sonakshi bordering arrogance and the entry of Jatin can trigger Dev to go in for it. As a viewer, I am not keen to see one, primarily because Dev has always been a loving, selfless and caring gentleman. I don't think the character would involve in a custody battle to win his daughter and lose Sonakshi. Then he would consider himself as a complete loser. Yes, if Bijoy Bose decides to become a spokesperson of Sonakshi and interferes again to create a suspicion in Dev's mind, that Jatin-Sonakshi are a couple, well...no one can stop Dev. It would be a typical Deewaar dialogue, Dev telling Sonakshi,"Tumhare pass Maa hain, Baba hain, Dida hain, Saurabh hain, Jatin hain! Mere paas sirf Suhana hain"!!

Sonakshi, on the other hand, is very protective about Suhana and a very good mother. The love for the child could help the lead characters see through their differences and opt out of a custody battle. The pre-nup debacle and Vicky's exposure could also make a difference.

No offence but with legal divorce n prenup on play and current Sona portfolio y will custody battle play as there is no stand for custody cause it's already decided at divorced unless they had implied divorce rather than legal divorcee.

The problem I have here is I am not sure if they are divorced. I don't know the laws for Hindu divorce in India. The cvs have left this quite open ended.

Also regarding the prenup- as far as ish knows the lawyer says the wealth will not go to the wife incase of divorce so I'm assuming as she is illiterate she does not know about the child clause. Dev did not read the prenup so even he does not know about the child clause. I wonder why neither dev or Asha mentioned it to sona also the fact that dev refused sign it.

So with sona being financially stable & a good mother with the prenup thrown inthere is no point in a custody case as no court will grant dev that.

Thank you Rekha😊

Is that so? I didn't visit the thread for during the last week, maybe that's why I missed the discussions. I love the discussions on that thread. All the analysis are so amazing👍🏼

I understand, there are clearly arrogance and ego issues on both sides. I don't want the poor child would suffer in the process. If taken individually, both Dev and Sona can handle children well in their own ways. I wouldn't go into nuances on what is in good in who's parenting, I would rather say their styles of parenting complement each other. I mean, among parents, one is usually a strict parent and another is a lenient parent, and it maintains a sort of balance.

If the story takes turn into custody battle, there would be lots of legal complications in the story. And it may also lead to stupid bloopers on the CVs part (which has been proved by other shows showing similar "twists").

Not only avoiding a custody battle would make the stories simpler for CVs to handle😆, but it would also maintain the last essence of Season-1 Devakshi. We would be able to witness deeper emotions of Dev and Sonakshi surrounding their separation, once their anger and ego washes out. This would make the story more beautiful, and of course blooper free😆

And for this to happen, there has to be a minimum level of empathy, especially Dev's for Sona.😉

Thanks for your reply😊

No offence taken😆

Well, first things first - I seriously didn't understand when and how they got divorced. Sona had signed the prenup papers. When did she sign the divorce papers? Or did she sign both the papers? And there is also a rule that you have to wait for 6 months before all the proceedings.

Anyways, let us assume they divorced legally. Dev doesn't know he has a child. He comes to know after 7 years, i.e. after 6 years of her birth. Now, Dev may take legal help to exercise his rights as a father (given his current attitude towards Sona). Also, we have prenup document to protect Sona's rights. Hence, I feel a custody battle may ensue.

All I am saying is that, bringing the court in the equation would spoil a beautiful story. I wish the child clause in the prenup document opens Dev's eyes towards to the extent of his family's cunning (and they still blame Sona), Sona's struggles and how he broke his own promise to be by Sona's side.

True, Devakshi divorce didn't get a proper treatment. But, for now all we can do is assume that they are divorced.

Even I wonder why Bijoy didn't mention it to Sona. Perhaps his memory failed after the slap fiasco😛. Or maybe Sona didn't tell about the prenup document to her family, which Vicky gave her only at the farmhouse. This too is open ended.

It is true that any sensible court wouldn't grant him custody, but Mr. Dev Dixit is a powerful man and can bend laws towards his favor.

It would be better if all is settled without going to the court or without any compromise, especially Sona. Also, Suhana doesn't deserve to go through all this. She loves both her parents dearly, even her father whom she never met.
