You right about a son respecting his mum. But a mum needs to respect her son as well. She needs to allow him to maintain other relationships in his life as well. She got her son to support her brother & his family for the rest of their lives but his children are not allowed to claim anything from his property. She is selfish & Dev should have realised that as well. No matter how much he loves his mom he needs to take into account his mom's nature when making his decisions. He stood back & allowed his mom to humiliate his wife time & again. If that wasnt enough the poor relatives who are living on his handouts are making his wife's life a misery & what did he do about it? It was Dev's major failure that he couldnt balance his relationships.
