Their relationship was never normal. Dida and Bijoy's relationship was normal, Asha's relationship with her children is normal, Sonakshi's relationship with Soha is exceptional but normal, even Radha and Vicky's relationship is toxic but normal. But Dev and Ishwari are not normal.

They always used the excuse that "They are unique" to cover up their weirdness. But guess what? If you are weird, you don't get to expect normal people to form normal relationship with you because they are not obligated to put up with your weird fixation.

Being close with your mother is not weird, that's what I thought initially. But being so possessive and jealous, is not a characteristic of a mother-son/father-daughter relationship, to the extent that it costs a traumatic divorce. I don't know why I am feeling that Suha would defend Sona with the same arguments that Dev would use to defend Ishwari. This is taking form of a war story than a love story. I don't want to comment anything more about Dev's behavior, I have already in my post. . People still want Dev-Sona to be together, because they are attached to Devakshi. This is a hindi show, Devakshi have a huge fan-base and only due to this fact the end game would be Devakshi. We (audience, in general) are too used to (and attached to) happy endings.

For Sona, I am very proud of her, how she is dealing with her situation. A perfect example of strong modern Indian woman. But, in long run, being in close proximity with Dev has not been a good decision for her. He can use the knowledge of existence of Suha against her and turn her life upside down. She should have thought through it and made a strategic plan about how to tell/not tell Dev (whatever she decided), given that their relationship is so bitter right now. Well, practically speaking, people forget and forgive by 7 years, it is a long time.

I think that it is taken for granted that strong women don't need support. Whereas even strong women like when they are given support (as Dev once said 'unhein sahare ki nahi saath ki zaroot h', what a transformation of Mr. Dixit!😲)... When this idea about strong women changes, there feelings would also be sensitively handled. And this is where Dev went wrong, taking Sona's strength and understanding for granted. Okay, I am not getting started again.
