I will be very honest, i wanted to smack Dev's head when he said that dialogue. I didn't look it in the whole context and with the flow of the conversation but stressed on that particular line. And i was very much surprised why Sonakshi didn't hit him. She was strong and has become more strong in last 7 years to not to take any crap on her character.

Then after watching the episode again and now reading your post, it makes sense actually. The whole conversation and reaction of Sonakshi. He meant in other way, which was also wrong indeed.
And lastly about the IF, i was asking Mahua the same and now i can guess what would have happened yesterday here. But seriously again with characters, forum members came into firing line. Too much -_-
I am glad that my Wi-Fi was not working and watching Fantastic Beasts and where to find them was a good decision to keep my sanity. 😃

How many times have you watched that now Charu?😆

The context factor being taken on this thread and giving a benefit of doubt to Dev is good but it reflects the simplicity.
I have no hesitation in accepting that I dislike Indian shows due to the characterisations by CVs but still watch - to keep updated with the happenings in the TV world.

Being a male, student of Psychology my 2 cents on the conversation.

"Zaamana bahot kharab hai. Kuch kaha nahi ja sakta. Kisi pe yakeen nahi kiya ja sakta. Aur waise bhi tum toh kuch nahi se bahot kuch ban gayi ho. Mujhe kya pata tumhe kya kya karna pada hoga."

The context is theft and fraud but one has to consider other important parameters - words, who is saying it (male or female) and is it action or reaction

Consider the words - "kuch nahin se bahot kuch ban gai ho" - means she has nil capability, nil resources.

So what a male thinks of a successful woman who has no capability - she used her charm to climb the ladder. Listen to the gossip males do when a female employee is promoted. Its a male psychology to hit her character intentionally or unintentionally to went out the frustration.

When Dev was drunk on the last day - he used the "ghas phoos" words. Subconsiously also Dev thinks Sona is good for nothing and can't earn to pay back the loan , what to talk of making a fortune.

other words - "kya kya karna pada hoga"-

Dixits are from north India - aur North India main if he meant chori or fraud - he would have said - "Kya kya kiya hoga" and not used the word "Karna pada" . Karna pada is used when something is done under distress compulsion , against your wishes.BTW what is done against the wishes.

One steals or does fraud its intentional to make gain - but for a female what is the ultimate compulsion - I do'nt want to say it here----

Now with NIL capability, NIL resources, what a female could have been compelled to do to earn big money. The males have only one thinking.

Moreover its allegation on a female whom a male wants to hit really hard bcoz he thinks she ditched him. And what is the way male hit during normal arguments and fights - they abuse and what words are used , everyone knows

Its the subconscious male mind which thinks in a different way - the females can't even think.

Only a man can think of bed within 2 hours of hitting his wife black and blue.

Giving benefit of doubt to Dev is too much, IMO.

But why "Karna Pada Hoga" cannot be used in context of fraud and theft. I don't get it... Obviously if he's talking about fraud, "Karna Pada Hoga" can be definitely used. And talking about North Indian people. In the show they are shown to be North Indians doesn't mean they'll study the mentality of North India and the dialogues will be written thinking that in mind. These things doesn't happen in Fictional shows. BTW, i don't think all North Indians will of the same mentality.

And for "Zaamana bahot kharab hai. Kuch kaha nahi ja sakta. Kisi pe yakeen nahi kiya ja sakta." He said this when he was talking about the Transaction in crores his comapny deals with every day and he can't trust on anyone, when it's about his business.

BTW, i was just talking about the statement used in that particular convo in context with what they were actually talking about.

Thanks for replying.

Jyoti... I stand by you!

This is what one can interpret from this conversation... I think Sonakshi would have slapped Dev if she she thought otherwise!

And still here again I think Dev was trying hard to bug her so that she would react..feel angry.
Think of the irony.. obviously he doesn't mean anything.. why would he leave Sonakshi alone in the office if he's worried about his documents!

Dev trusts Sonakshi without a shawdow of a doubt.. this is all just fulf talk to hurt her .. the way he's hurting! It's a game as he says it is..

Great post Jyoti..

I totally respect your pov n also have full faith in dev
He cant soubt Sona's character even in the wildest of his dreams
It was just that when sona said that he still accuses her of being a thief he shot back saying this one line where he meant may be she has been stealing things around to attain success

My grievance is with the dialogue writers who give such dialogues to the leads that they bound to be misinterpreted
Why do such things when u could do it in a better way

Anyways just my pov
U got full right to disagree no offence meant

I agree that writers need to be careful if misinterpretations can be done from the dialogues they have written.👍🏼

Sabse Phele Ek Jhappi Iss Post Ke Liye!! 🤗 🤗🤗

Thank you so much for making this post! ❤️ 🤗
I felt exactly the same way you did! 😳

When we look at the DevAkshi conversation as a whole...we can clearly see that Dev said it in the context of theft and fraud.

And if at any time Sona felt that Dev was talking about her character...then she would have slapped him right there and then...

Sona has always been a strong and independent woman...and she will not tolerate anyone if they comment about her character.

It really just depends on the way we look at it!

I am glad that our thought processes are similar and we think the same way! 😳

Thanks for replying Mona.

I know we have a similar thought process. Knowing Sonakshi, yes she would have slapped the man then and there... Whether it was Dev or anybody else, she's not gonna take any crap about her character.
