Does a 6 yr old child need to know that her father who she is eagerly and anxiously waiting to meet is "frog","spineless" and "rude" man?

Did her fantasy bubble burst with harsh remarks from her mom? For all you know, he may turn out to be the best father in the world!

Even if he doesn't, why would Sona, who herself is a daddy's girl, cultivate negativity in a little child's mind about her father?

Sona gave option to Soha to meet her father, so prior to meeting why would she do that?

Did she NOT understand that this kind of negative comments (big or small) would cause an irrecoverable damage in 6 old yr girl relationship with her father?

According to Sona, Dev might not have been fair to her, but she has no right to form a negative opinion about Dev in her daughter's mind.

Sona! This is not about you and Dev, it about your daughter whom you love the most.

Don't you want to preserve the innocent love that she may develop for her father regardless of your differences.

As it is Dev was NOT fortunate enough to see his daughter grow ever since she was born, so Sona should have thought that at least she was fortunate to have her and thought about her daughter for a second before making such comments.

I can understand Bijoy😡 yelling in front of Soha, but didn't except from Sona who's a sensible girl!

"Every child has right to be with his\her parents regardless of the hardships the couple go thru, but it should be NOT rubbed on to child tender mind"

When children grow up, they will become sensible enough to understand who is right and wrong.

It's my nature to see the other side of the coin always...so thought of sharing my POV here...😊

So, guys! what are your thoughts?

You are absolutely right !!👍🏼 . As a parent of a young daughter, i feel the same. No matter what differences you have with your husband, you dont throw that baggage to a young child's mind. Unless ofcourse, the ex husband is a drug addict/hitter/abuser or an alcoholic. A child needs a father as much as a mother!!
Dev has always been a perfect son, brother and a nephew. He of anybody would give a world of love and affection to his child. If he was in Sona's shoes, He would never ever say anything wrong about Sona to the child!!

Come ON! PLEASE!

Sona is only 6 yr old, you think she will recognize the difference between a bad guy vs bad husband.
For any child of that age Mother means the world, so whoever hurts her mom would definitely be a bad guy in her opinion.
Children form opinions based on the caretakers views.
OFCOURSE! That age spineless and rude are BIG words.

Well said !!

I had the same thoughts when i heard she used words like rude ,spineless .

To get back at their ex we have often see how parents use their child as weapon by filling their innocent minds .This will have a very bad effect on the kids .

Even I feel that a child of 6 yrs age is too naive to hear those words about her father. I definitely didn't expect it from Sona who has always been a positive and sensible person. When she is giving her daughter a choice to see her father, and behaving like a very broadminded mother, she should not taint the young childs mind with those words !! It is not big deal for us, but for a child 6 yrs age, whose world is her mom, it is certainly a wrong thing to say.

If she intended to make soha hate her dad she could easily have said her that her father dumped her mother even after knowing that he has a daughter when soha asked ki Papa mujhse Milne kyu nahi ae but sona told the truth to her that dev doesn't even know that she exist

If telling the truth is rude, then it's not the fault of the speaker. It's the fault of the person being spoken about.

Would you rather she had lied to her child?

If Sonakshi started telling everything she had faced unadulterated version, Soha would have reached the same conclusion.

But she didn't lie and didn't poison Soha's mind by telling the truth either.

Was Dev rude, spineless? Yes he was. How can anyone deny that?

Did she say he was the jerk who told your mother that she married him for money, broke his home, and that it's good that she can't be a mother because she will be a bad one and threw her out of his house (all truth by the way)?

If Sona wanted to use Soha as a weapon, she'd have never told about Dev, never had given her a choice to go to her dad, never have respected her choice, and when she talked about him, she'd have told the full unadulterated truth which would have made any child hate the person. Sona had plenty of weapon against Dev.

If she really wanted to turn Soha against Dev, she really did a bad job of it. And Sonakshi is not that bad at anything she sets her mind to achieve.

That was a general statement regarding how some parents behave when they seperate .

I see no reason why words like spineless, rude was necessary .The child has already started calling him as Aubhodro daddy .Is it cute ? Definitely not ..

Regarding speaking truth it was Sonakshi's view about Dev that he is spinless ,rude .Its between husband and wife there is no need to apply the same to the father .If you don't want to paint your husband as a bad man then why tell the child about him being spineless or rude .

Great post
From a mother's pov I also thought it was pretty wrongful of Sona to say he was spineless, but when she mentioned him a frog she was making the comparison to the idea of Prince charming so her context to a child was completely different. Also children at that age move away from seeing everything in a black and white form and they tend to ask more questions so that it helps with their creative growing minds and thats what soha did..and sonakshi answered all her questions and not once did sonakshi talk of Dev. She mentioned he was a good man especially towards his mother and family
