Well thought analysis. Though its not an article written in this forum but couldn't resist to comment on a simple fact
Ishwari's view is skewed. She is not inherently a bad person. She does not want ill of others. She only wants good for her family. Her experiences have formed her life's view and she has no reason to change it.

Fully agree with the fact in view of Ish background, age, upbringing. Its the duty of the younger generation to help their elders in understanding the concepts of independence and equality. Dev faltered and he just blindly considered his mother as god. Instaed he should have confronted his mother as well as GKB when they were being rude to Sona and taunting her. He didn't care for the individuality and self respect of sona. The fault lies with Dev and Dev alone.

Mamaji could have also done that more forcefully but he has been a victim of circumstances and living at the mercy of his sister and nephew and lacked the moral courage to call a spade a spade.
