Thanks Tia for the review watched the episode because of you
Here are my thoughts:

The chain that BINDS ARE THE CHAIN THAT BREAKS

Dev Dixit was chained. He was chained to the past and the chain was held tight by his mother. He was chained to his Love for Sona and was tugged between the two chains both binding him. One bound him because of insecurities of his mother and another bound him because of his love for Sona. He kept trying to keep the chain loose so as to not break links but failed big time and the tug of his mother was too strong that the links broke

Sona Bose was chained, chained between her love for Dev and her parents respect. She tried to balance both. She tried to keep the chains loose so as to not let the links fail but ultimately the actions of Dev and her own love for her parents broke the links

Charles Dickens wrote we forge the chains we wear in life

It seems apt here and true in real life too. We are all bound by chains , invisible ones , but if the links are not forged with love, respect, patience , personal space the links snap as in real life too if parents pull at the children s chains even after they are grown ..kind of in an emotional blackmail way then the chains are strained and the link may snap. The relationship between a husband and wife is also tied by these invisible links which need to be forged with iron otherwise the links snap very easily.

Life is about forging the links and build a beautiful chain. Both Sona and Dev let other people pull at their links thereby weakening theirs hopefully in the new life they will forge the links and believe it or not Children do let us forge the links..I am not saying all the time because after all people who do not have children have strong bonds but this show is probably going the child way.

First they will have to break the chains that bind them, find their own happiness , leave the past behind them and begin life afresh. All of us at some point in our life have to do this too. Start fresh break the chains that bind us and forge the links the way we want it to be...

As far as the show goes it can be them sharing joint custody of the child and living separate lives which happens in real life or something else cinematic...only time and this shows writers will tell😉

Thank you, Sabita. As usual excellent analogy. I love the literary comparison you bring to shed lights on the core issues.

I agree with you. Both Dev and Sona were set free.

Dev from his mother's suffocating motherhood and Sonakshi from the love which was sucking out her individuality, humanity and respect.

This lesson was important for them both.

Dev needed to breathe free and understand the joy of being free. Once someone tastes true freedom, you can never put them in cage without a fight. Ishwari will never get her bird back in her gilded cage regardless how much Halwa she puts as bait.

Sonakshi needed to get over her fairytale dream and face the reality in the form of hardcore truth. She needed to know the value of self-worth and self-respect which she would have never learned while on romantic haze of love.

Ishwari needed the lesson that single motherhood doesn't consist of stifling one's child in guilt, manipulation and tantrums. Single mothers can also raise independent, rational and strong adults who make them proud not by being their minions, but by being strong, independent people of tomorrow. She needed to see the truth of her failed parenting with living proof.

I am excited about this show again and looking forward to what CVs has to offer.

Wonderful analysis @gemini54 about Chains.
Very True, we are held by invisible chains that have to be maintained by Trust and Understanding for strong relationships.

Dev and Sona are not divorced yet and they have a child now so their bond might get even stronger now as they love each other.

Have seen couples without children who are there to support and enjoy life while taking care of each other as kids without hurting themselves. Their bond is strong as well, and they wouldn't feel any less inferior compared to couples with kids.

Beyond all this, there is a divine force that decides. So, it's about being positive, and it's all based on attitude and perception. Everything will fall into place if these three are maintained.

Thank you for making this amazing post and really liked the real life connection with Charles Dickens :)

Thanks Tia the thing I got from the episode today was a sense of freedom that both Sona and Dev exhibited. We can only make good decisions when we have freedom...that is why it is called free will. Hopefully both of them will exhibit that.

Thanks . I have seen in real life that sometimes people are open to second chances because of their children. Here Dev and Sona do love each other and maybe their child will be the link which will make their love stronger.
I love Dickens

You are right.

however, from my perspective, the chain was my addiction to the show.. and i was really struggling to wean away from this.. the pull was so hard that it broke by itself!!! There were days, i used to watch KRPKAB on end. I used to ask myself what is going on with me.. at this age that to? it was so mesmerising..

i am now more sane and have more or less gone back to my original lifestyle..

now it is this forum that is making me insane. it is always on, even when i am at work. if there is no one in my room, i just peek in and write my comments.

i am working to get this chain too broken. After all, Had se zyaada, will become like Beyhadd and it is not good at all. 😊😊

But do enjoy reading all posts..
