Brilliant post👏. Agree with all ur points. The relationship ended cos sona clearly stated tht she doesnt want to stay with him or give him another chance. She has already given him a second chance aft the break up.

One of my friends once told me tht a girl can give her man a second chance not a third or forth. If she does tht she had completelt lost it. This is indian telly nd thy will eventually get together but i wud like to see how thy justify their reunion. Whether it is solely sona's decision or the role of the kid plays in it we have to wait nd watch.

If she is giving him third chance i hope the makers dont make her look like a complete idiot. Her business acumen will be agn questioned by the fandom like dev's which was mocked whn he was influenced emotionally. The much hyped prenup too was diffused with a single statement frm ishwari.

Expect the unexpected is the mantra of the fandom regarding this show. I hope thy present the future tracks like the initial episodes nd nt get carried away by the accolades it is getting thru the leads. Not tht i am not crazy abt thm but hve been burnt twice cos of sudden curtains down on my fav shows

I really feel at the end of the day we think too much about these nuances of the serial. I have most people in India just time in to watch & then move on their other chores or another serial. They don't really introspective or pick out the implausibilities in the story.

We need to tell ourselves this is fiction & have no other expectations from the show. If it entertains great else move on.

The good thing about being on this forum one finds that each person looks at the same situation differently & that is why I come here. It's always refreshing to see different perspectives but we are minuscule percentage of the population that watches this show.

Your suggestions are excellent and will be as many of us said, "Nayi Soch"... I'd like to see here the little girl growing up to be a strong and independent woman. Ishwari always bragged about what would Sonakshi do if she was a single mother. I want to see Sonakshi proving to Ishwari that a single mother can raise an independent person who is not constantly worshipping at his/her mother's feet and doing her bidding but making her upbringing an example by being a complete and independent person with their own thoughts, opinions and judgement.

But alas, this is TV Land where regression rules. Men and women can't be happy and single. They are either single and miserable or happy and married or miserable and married.

I'l tell you why..Cos it is fiction and ppl would rather watch happily ever afters/fairy tales..This is exactly why a film can get away with showing a tragic/realistic ending cos it only lasts for 3 hours but with soaps, its completely different..Ppl are emotionally invested in the characters to the point that they forget its not reality and we are seeing fictional characters who are butchered/altered depending on the TRPs and whims & fancies of the writers..If we were to consider reality, not one TV couple is worth rooting for..Apart from those gems YRF produced way back, every couple on Indian TV were/are better off without each other cos Indian TV thrives on toxic love-hate relationships..The reason I liked this soap initially was cos Dev-Sona weren't toxic and the makers were not hell bent on fitting them into the cliched love-hate arch..Unfortunately that is exactly what it has been reduced to now and I'd rather re-watch IPK online if thats what I want instead of sitting through this 😆 Oh and I doubt anyone cares for Dev-Sonakshi at this point..Its only about the actors (and their chemistry) which is the case with 9 out of 10 Hindi soaps 😆

Oh hi I remember you. You write beautifully as ever.

You are asking very valid and pertinent questions but all I am saying is ...since I am a lot older this show is not reality or does not bear any semblance of reality anymore so if we expect it we will be disappointed. I wouldn't be surprised if this show extends if they do well.

Btw I love lady Macbeth one of my favorite characters. Good to see you back

QUOTE=Lady_Macbeth]
Thank you so much . You've always been very supportive of my posts from the very beginning 🤗( by my previous UN was AnnaPaquinFan 😳 ) especially during their 1st separation track.
I understand that they just want to cash in the chemistry of the leads and it's absolutely gonna work in their favor I'm sure of that , judging by how much gaga the entire forum is already after one single promo , and already all the crap they'd thrown at us shoved under the carpet like yesterday's dust 😆 , it's hardly expected that many people will delve deeper than the chemistry and spark and all that . 😉
But I want to ask all of them a honest question , would it give them the satisfaction completely if there's no validity of their love story any more ??
Would it not nag and nibble at their subconscious that in real life once two people separate and stay apart for such a long time and even flourish during this period , they never again gets back together ?? It just doesn't happen. Can any one say they know of such a real life scenerio ?? I'd take their words as truth with out question and shut up.
Because I've neither known , nor seen , nor heard , nor read any such case.

Thank you it's my favourite character as well. I have a fetish for female literary characters of hidden depth and complexity. 😳
Yes I know it's just a show and it has a huge fanbase most of whom are from a very impressionable age group. And judging by the flurry of activities after each episode each promo segment or even a tiny spoiler and the intense reactions to every thing pertaining to the show I'd say that most are not taking this show as a half an hour entertainment that they forget as soon as it's over clearly there's a lot of emotional investment so it just bugs me how could we be so blissfully oblivious to the basis on reality or lack there of ,of this lovestory.
Thank you for welcoming me back. I really love reading certain regular posts in the forum that of you need Tia di in particular for the enriching quotient of discussion and quality of opinions shared.

I was also thinking along d same lines yesterday. When dev and sonakshi were together, they brought out their best and worst from each other. Both were losing their identity in their relationship and were always on the receiving ends.

What we can see from leap is that they both have become a better person than they were before. Sona has found her own identity and her strong self and Dev has got his much needed freedom.

Then why would they exactly need to get back in a relationship where they will face the previous problems all over again? Is love always about being with that person..? Can't it be about finding yourself and cherishing the good memories?

I also have a another line of thought. If they both could stay 7 years without each other.. I am sure they could have done it their whole lives also.

If dev and sonakshi meet other accidently and their emotions for each other erupt once again... That doesn't mean they just HAVE to get back together. I mean it is just very normal for anyone to get nostalgic and emotional about their past memories and especially about their first love.. It never gets forgotten. But does it mean you agai decide to go through the same path? I don't think so.

As far as the role of Dev and sonakshi's daughter is concerned... I am very much skeptical about it. You just mirrored my thoughts when you said that a child there days does not really need his /her parents to be in a relationship to have a good upbringing.

The reunion of a couple just for the sake of child seems the most stupid thing to me. Do people don't get divorced or separated when they already have children?

I think I have really lost my track now.. But the more you think about it.. The more you are caught up in this mess.

Your words beautifully mirrored my thoughts. Why'd one go back to a relationship that had ended on a disaster a pure fiasco the previous time despite all there love and now they've done better with their lives in the absence of each other than they'd managed during the time they were together. Plus both of them are now confident that they can live with out each other. They've been together for less than a year. Surely during these 7 years they've weaned out of their presence and need for each other. Sona didn't even had Dev during her pregnancy child birth and taking care of the newborn. It'd be laugh worthy concept if she's suddenly shown as crippled and inadequate to take care of the baby.

To be honest Sonakshi is at least 40% responsible for Dev thinking that he'll just have to ask for another chance to get time no matter if it's the 3rd time 4th time or umpteenth time. She shouldn't have ran back to his arms before addressing and resolving all the inherent issues of their previous break up . There were absolutely no redemption for Dev. From then onwards it was but obvious that dev will start to take her for granted because he was never made to introspect and own up his share of mistakes. You need to kill the cat on the first night itself. From then onwards it was just a matter of time before their marriage would crash like a castle of cards.
The only thing that could justify their reunion is- 1. Irreversible and irresistible physical attractions for each other which they couldn't reproduce or feel with another person's touch. It may be a shallow reason but then I'm not a prude and it's still better than coming together for the child.
2. Theyve a clean slate with no remorse no bitterness forgive each other and become buddies. And after staying in solid friendship marry each other as friends. Or even fall for each other anew with friendship as the base and never really losing the friendship basis.
I'm not anti DevakshI I'm just pro logic and sensible story telling. It's important for my satisfaction even from pure entertainment.

Awesome post... i think the child factor is purely for drama or cuteness sake.. becuase she has the kid now , sona would resist even more to get back with dev even if he completely redeems himself... as it will always be in the back of her mind that he is now coming back for he kid and not for her...
They have to fall for each other yet another time and this time there will be a lot of resistance and it is not going to be easy as they both got wiser and learned not to trust easily...

When educated cultured mass watches something even for the sake if entertainment it effects their heart and mind by stimulating various thoughts especially for those who are no more in a teenage group. Even housewives are nowadays much more contemplative and aware about various issues. There fore instead of watching the show mindlessly is it too much to expect logic and realism in a telly show so that it's easier to connect and echo the story with what we have seen in our real life and around us.
Also if the western tv counter parts can produce high quality food for thought in their products why should we give the Indian telly makers leeway giving them the ready made excuse of oh it's a fiction after all so need not worry about content.
Even I'm myself a huge Sharica fan and yes the leads do look fantastic together but i won't buy meaningless crap in the name of romance even for them in fact especially for them.

@Tia di I'm all for life your life by your own rules. It's after all Dev and Sonakshi's lives they'll decide whether they should and would reunite or not and on which terms.
But since they've successfully survived and shining better than ever for freaking 7 long years why'd they go back to a failed relationship unless they're fetish for masochism. If they really mattered for each other they'd have surely communicated with each other within this time. After all we always reach out to people who really matter to us.
7 years they've stayed away so please no destiny bullshit. Was their destiny sleeping all these years. 😆
